  6. hi, i still have a usb msd problem. i am using a 4gb microSDHC. similar to monokinetic above my led flashes then stays off. windows reports 'usb device not recognized'. i just updated to latest msd v1.1 and it's the same result. :logik: only just noticed there's beta16 mbseq so i'm off to try the 'help' & 'sdcard' for more info. s.
  7. ok, compiled & uploaded, recognised and formatted. just 1 problem = my 4gb formatted to 128kb! read & write no prob. anyone else using 4gb microsdhc? :logik: are we able to format when connected via mbseq with usb-msd mode? is partitioning 2x2gb gonna work? (part. software gone with laptop hdd or would have tried already)
  8. hi, i'm not sure how long you will have to wait for wilba's bulk order but to have such a pcb AND parts / fpd for frontpanel will be easier in the long run. so if you're not in a huge hurry add yourself to the bulk order list @ wiki. it is simply connect aout and enable as you say, you will still have the 8 cvs + 2 gates and i'm pretty sure you can also enable the further 8 gates on the core. expandable to 64 extra gates with dout boards.. you can use gate outs without aout board as well. i have a v3 with 8 gates for analog drums. read the mbseq v4 user manual for more! i've just got my v4-wilba-pcb running and it is unbeatable midi hardware seq, my aout_ng is going to be added soon after i finish the handmade frontpanel (if only i can stop playing with it as is)
  9. thanks phil and i thinks you hit it on the head again. i hooked up a 1gb sd card (soldered straight to pins) and bam away it went. so now i was worried my 4gb would be useless, but you're right it's microSDHC. 4gb was cheaper than 2gb! so i will grab that source @ svn? my laptop with toolchain had hdd meltdown, so i only have win7 x64 here now, is it still possible to compile on x64 using the toolchain setup found on wiki here? http://www.midibox.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=windows_mios32_toolchain_core thanks!
  10. hi, i've now got 2 functional core32's. my problem is neither of them work properly as mass storage, i only need to copy the hwcfg file for wilba's seq pcb! no card reader so i thought i could just use the mass storage .hex, i guess the connections are right because the seq v4 says sd connected. it's a 4gb microsd card with a sd to microsd adaptor. when i restart core32 after .hex upload windows detects and installs driver but then says i have to format, which then fails? telling me to check connections. if i click on the drive letter it says to insert disk in drive! hope i'm right without res. network in R30 and jumpered 3v3. now tried both core's & 2 pc's with similar results, any ideas?? :twitch:
  11. :frantics: got my pcb! huge thanks to wilba, fussylizard and TK. :D i also bent my pins 180 deg. for data encoder. yet to make frontpanel and install leds. pcb = a joy to assemble. pics soon.
  12. sorted. MIOS32_LCD=ks0108 had changed from clcd, needed to restart pc!!! thanks phil!

  14. hey thanks for the sch nILS! i notice on the parport connector 'ID' - are these 2 points joined? i'll try this one soon. also thanks to TK, at least i was not the only one..

  16. hi all, i have been struggling trying to get my second core32 going (no preburnt bootloader!), i'm not at all sure my wiggler is working as this is the first time i have had to use one. my other core32 was preburnt  . i have 2 schematics, 1 is wiggler.pdf and 1 is wiggler2.pdf. i built ver.1 (uses 74hc244). openocd binaries are no longer available in ver 0.1.0, so i have compiled my own with --enable-parport. this .exe tells me i have no priveleges for direct io! i have giveio setup and status confirmed. this is on winxp. parport is ECP. i have 0.2.0 and 0.3.1 here but both seem to be incompatible with my wiggler. has anybody used these versions with a diy wiggler? any hints on compiling openocd? i really cant afford a usbwiggler :) thanks.
  17. This one is truly huge. is the panels screenprinted? is there soundcards in the console? how is audio handled? !!! the time spent is worth it im sure. S
  18. Get into it Meef. IT IS GOOD. many ideas become reality. build a core! get an lcd (even if later u remove it) . find or design a box/panel layout. you may get your panel cut for $ or do it yourself. it may be possible you could use just 1 DINX4 (and still get five buttons via one on the core)/ 1DOUTX4 / 1CORE.buying the pcb's will save you time and trouble. put it all together. by then you will have enough ideas for many midibox/mios creations for years of building. THORSTEN deserves thanks for that ! versatile platform for midi enthusiasts! PS. sliders give u the issue of having to cut slots( can be done with any method that works..) whereas round buttons and encoders or pots are just a simple hole. S
  19. Hi MEEF, i am a fan of rotary switches even though they can be dodgy mechanically. i have yet to try them on my midibox. if u have a switch i say try it. or are you thinking the [ one button down / all others up ] style row of buttons? S
  20. Nice work Wisefire small circuits that work are worth the fiddly effort for sure. hope that works!
  21. check on the datasheet that it is 10k thats needed ? yeah very little change on one of mine i remember. i used a jumper wire instead (which maybe should've been a low Ohm resistor?) my contrast pot only really works at the end of its range..no problem though. S
  22. Hi Jidis, >Can you manually light any of these things from the side or with a replacement light? Pinouts are about the only thing I've ever had to learn about LCD's if it's EL sometimes you can replace the EL FOIL..which may or may not be easy to get at..i got some from ebay and it was easy stuff to install (in my case) S
  23. > filtered those, that's probably because my ain ports aren't clamped to ground > since I did not connect my ain module yet (but this can't cause my problem > > right?). ERM..there is difficulty of uploading when those notes/msgs you've filtered are consuming BANDWIDTH. SO.. ground 'em !
  24. Do you hear a startup sound ? ? Checked your connections/soldering ? [mainly between core & SID] ...use a multimeter Have you upload patches ? keep trying! but also if you have another sid chip give it a go.
  25. the "Some Random Thoughts About a Modulation Wheel" page perhaps .. http://musicfromouterspace.com/analogsynth/ModulationWheel/ModulationWheel.html you could make rows of these.
