WOOOOHAAAA!!! ;D ;D ;D :D It work!!! Since it was my first time (and very interesting) with custom LCD driver, I forgot to add in USER_Init changing of #7 LCD - user driver. Now - witchout any changes of orginal Wilba`s driver - everything is showing good. I`m happy. Thank you!!! Time to check what is a time response of other SID`s by CAN. 8)

Fast and precision, in point. Thank you Wilba. You known that I asked you for this driver, but not directly. When I see (one minute after I post my problem) that you read this, I get relax. OK- now I will check, I hope no more "questions" will be - only "thanks".... .... after 3 hours tryings, of course with removed gound on D0-D3, and done all needed connections. Unfortunatelly the effect is the same. I will try to change driver, if you give me a link for datasheet of your pled Wilba then I will compare differences - maybe it "give me some inspiration" - like said T.K oneday. My vfd sometimes work for 3 seconds intensive with changing patches fast for egz., sometimes initialize failure.... I feel that it is possible to get it work, but I can`t find where is problem. Also all time regular LCD work good.

Hi I hope it is right place for this topic :) I just programmed pic18f4685 (thanks Wilba http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php?topic=8328.msg58220#msg58220). I have done all changes - 4bit connection for LCD, CAN bus with diodes- uploaded new midibox_sid_v1_74685 code - but since I go to 4bit, my VFD http://www.bipom.com/documents/peripherals/vfd202.pdf not working OK. It go to "pause" after second. Sometimes it show nothing, sometimes only small part of screen. In 8bit everything was Ok, but I don`t know why in 4bit there are problem - since on datasheet is also 4bit mode. Someone has the same problem? I would like to say that on another LCD 2x40 everything work OK in this mode, but I prepare CS just for this smaller VFD! Maybe it is the same problem like has Wilba on his PLED in 4bit mode? Can someone help me? Any suggestion?

Thank you! Of course my "problem" was stupid. I don`t know why I not read changelog. I`m from this type of people who not read manuals, but play from beginning. I`m too fast. But it will be change - after 40 years for egzample. OK - it`s time to finish my panel :D

Hello can you help me? I try finish my panel for sid, everything works great, but when I push 2 or 4 buttons from destination buttons then all leds start to blink. When I press one more time any two buttons form destinations leds back to "normal" - no blinking mode. Is this a normal or not? When I press 1 or 3 or 5 buttons - everything is OK. Since I press 2 or 4 buttons at once - the leds just start blinking. Also when it blinking, for go to normal behavior I must press 2 or 4 buttons at once - from destination list. Sorry for my funny english, but really would like to get sure that it is normal or not. I wrote to developer of Pikdev for adding new pices (18f4685) becouse I would check also if never SID aplicattion have the same behavior. (Also I need be ready for SIDv.2) Thank alot!

It seem that it is a time to buy better measure tool (with ac and dc ampers, and with capacity), ahhhh .... nice one could be also have sonometer. It`s my dream: to have sonometer for checking rms level of my speakers. OK guys - Thank you one more time (not last of course) ;)

I don`t wanna bother, but could somebody explain me (or put a link) why it is important to select the most the same values of filter caps? What happens when they are different? Please be patient for my questions.

Yes I see. Very simple and also can be (probubly) controlled from AOUT_LC by SID - inside patch. I will do 2 stage delay: first one short (for modulating flangers) and second for longer delay, but first I will compare with your another great propositions at this forum :)

OK I see, but I found new one interesting : EXTernal menu. If I understood right it will be posiible to save with patch settings of external voltage controlled gears! I right now start build cheap one delay, and MBHP_AOUT_LC interfaces. Thanks x milion

Yes this is danger. I cannot be in obsesion.Fortunately she loves SID sound too. I would like to build delay into sid (with precise time setting+possibility equalizing feedback). Do you know any DIY project with this kind delay?

Hi Hey Thorsten can you add (or maybe it is added) one function: possibility to set "4 Synthesizer Subsystems" by MIDI? I mean: possibilities of switch beetwen for egzample 4x MBSID-Drum to 3xMBSID-Drum + 1xMBSID-Lead by MIDI. Loving qbas

What a caps are you use? It`s a regular from shop or a special one for audio? And what value for 8580?

Hi again I read topics about filter caps, and I have decided to use 22n becouse some guys said that it is safe value. Also I noticed that on C64 orginally was 22n too. So firstly I used canibalized ceramic 22n only for testing. They give me beauty sound. Since I`m finish additional 7 sid modules I bought regular ceramic 22n, but they give me similar sound, not the same like previously. Personally I like more sound this from older one caps. What is your proposition for me: a)looking for another 22n b)changing to another value (what are you propose? I looking for brighter sound since I use external filter too) c)waiting with this new caps, becouse after some time they will play better (it is my theory)

hi styrd from other side: in eagle is an option for export image, where is possible to put resolution in dpi. Automatically resolution in pixels depend from resolution in dpi, but I have not an program, with support fpd or dwg, to export as image with the same options, where resolution in pixels depends from resoluition in dpi. I`m not an graphic worker, som maybe I`m in wrong, but when I created pcb from eagle I exported in 300 dpi, and nextly I imported this files to blank document, who have 300 dpi/A4 , and print normally on A4. If you can make me bmp, or jpg in 300 dpi - I will happy

In short: can you send me pdf - if you think that it is enough? I use dwg_img program who have not pdf as output. I hope soon this topic will be closed with positive result.

Hi Thank you for trying help me. I checked INKSCAPE, this is very good program, but it not read "fpd" and "dwg" format :( I have my bmp file in hi rez - converted from dwg, but without any scale - I don`t know proper size. So I need any file (can be small size jpg in 2 colors) but with specified size. For good understanding: I can stretch picture, but I don`t know how much. After preparing good sized file I would like to print it on transparet plastic and drill my wood for sid. Can you help?

Please! Everybody there done athe panel in Schaeffer Apparatebau? I don`t think so. So if you cannot give me this graphic file please explain me how you done a panel.

hi I need help with creating a file or find another solution. Becouse I cannot run under Ubuntu the Front Panel Designer program - I cannot create bmp file with picture of panel for sid (I think that in FPD it can be done). I need this panel picture on paper for help make me my own panel on wood ( I have no money for this super alu panel now). Of course I can convert dwg on bmp file, but converter program not create file with orginal size (dependly from dpi), but always I must specify size (A4 or another) or resolution. If I do mistake please tell me,I hope my text is clearly, or simply If somebody can send me in 300 dpi a graphic file with panel template I will be greatefull. Thank you
