  1. WOW. You just made my day TK. I'll have to put some stuff on pause while the details of this new core get fleshed out.. some ideas I had shelved may be possible now! Most of my wishlist is already covered in other peoples suggestions.. but I'd like to add that there is no base resolution for the sequencer which I'd consider too high! With MIDI file import being a possibility, it would be very nice to be able to bring in recycled .mid files for beat chopping without loosing their original feel.. something even the MPC's can't do. This does require a very high resolution tho, and may simply be impractical for a hardware sequencer.
  2. Ditto, it's a waste to use such a nice fader in a digital circuit.
  3. Hear Hear!! These guys have some very interesting things going on, def. gonna keep an eye on them
  4. Sounds good 8) Obviously don't let this get in the way of the order that we've already started.
  5. Well, I suppose I might as well make a request while we're re-configuring things :) The 1Q series of switch caps look pretty nice, I'd be interested in picking up 100 of them myself, datasheet here: http://www.mec.dk/files/webPQRI.pdf I'd like 100x 1Q031 which is a black cap with a square transparent lens.
  6. totally off topic... but I as well am familiar with goozer and his travels: http://www.asymetrik.org/headspace/OldTunes/Gem_N_I_Beta3(master).mp3
  7. Yup, someone posted about those awhile back. I ordered 100 and have them here, as expected they are the MEC switch with LED. A good find :) I still want a large amount of the quiet version tho 8)
  8. Hrm.. I don't want to be a tease.. but.. if you take some time to learn the basics of ASM first I'd be happy to walk you through how to make these modifications. They will be fairly similar to how I did the prototype code for the MB808.. stop into the chat room sometime :)
  9. Nice layout ;) I can't be 100% sure about this, but I think the menu functions will still be accessible from (one of the) rows of GP buttons

    Faderbox

+1 That is the stuff that gives me headaches

    Faderbox

Well, you won't die tomorrow from solder fumes today... but spend several hours sucking them in and you may well have a headache to deal with :( Build a fume vent if you can.

    DOG LCDs

Wow, these have alot of good things going for them! PCB mount, smaller footprint, better availability of colors (Full RGB Backlights!!!).. Hopefully they become popular and we see more sizes and models released!
  13. Oh man.. you've opened Pandora's box by quoting prices like that dstamand! I live in southern New Hampshire (USA) and would be very interested in investigating having panels made as well... but I don't want to start a bandwagon that stops you from getting your own DIY done as well 8)
  14. AFAIK those knobs are a custom part which are not stocked by any distributer. The group buy was the only place to find them. Also, for a newbie tip: finding knobs is *always* a pain in the arse. It's a matter of patience and constant searching. Start by searching here for "nice knobs".
  15. Well, I'm not sure how much time I'll have, but put me on the list for a potential volunteer to pack and ship in the US. I'm in New Hampshire, which is (relatively) close to protocase (6 hours driving ;))
  16. I'm in, anytime is good for me. I'll be taking: 50-100 little clear textured caps 50-100 translucent caps 50-100 black caps with LED dot 50-?? quiet switches.. basically I've got 100$ to drop on these, so the better the price break, the more I want..
  17. HA HA! I knew you'd break down and offer this to some people 8) glad to see it, and I'm in...although I'd like to use different switches.. and some special knobs.. and can you make the case white.. LOL ;) I'm in, depending a bit on the shipping cost to USA.
  18. I need to build one myself, but as the weather outside continues to be gorgeous around here.. well the soldering bench has been pretty much unattended... I've been thinking about building mine using cherry keyswitches to make good use of the live record feature.. but that means a custom PCB (single sided for home etching).. and, again, so long as it's nice out.. I don't feel much like sitting in front of a PC.. (we only get a couple months of decent weather here.. so all this will get done soon enough :))
  19. ;) +1 I've just started using Ableton myself, and so far I find it better to sequence my SEQ's rather than have the track data inside Live 8) So much so, that I've been thinking about making changes to the firmware for a live control surface which controls a pair of SEQ's instead!
  20. Wow. Such an impressive project! I've def. got some studying to do before I start again myself.. although I'm not too interested in the SID sound I'm really thinking about building one of these just to get to know it better. Great work Wilba! 8)
  21. Wow. This is fantastic news! Just the other day I was lamenting the cost of new MOTU hardware! I see the convergence of some very exciting new technologies in the MB community ;D
  22. This is good news actually :0) I was thinking that the limitations stretched beyond the TTL fanning. Even as it stands with 8 cards as the maximum I think the design is great, and I wouldn't want you loaded down with any more requirements :) However, I have a feeling myself and stryd are "thinking big" so it's nice to know the limit of cards could be increased.. perhaps dramatically ;) ;D 8)
  23. This really is great work! In particular I like the idea of using each PGA "card" as a channel input with 4 separate buss outputs. Of course for a mixer this would mean a max of 8 channels (6 if you use 2 for an fx return) but the idea really captures my imagination! Thanks for all the hard work lyle!
  24. Holy crap! I totally give up on trying to catch up on everything that has been said here.. so I'll just add my .02 in, fully aware that it has probably all been mentioned in the last three pages somewhere: - I've been pondering just such an idea for about 2 years now - AD75019 and 8113 are the chips of choice - 8113's are really damn expensive - Digikey keeps the 75019 in stock (and I have 4 already ;D ) - Somewhere at home I have a simple layout for the 75019, but it seems tilted has made that obsolete :) 8) - +1 to everything stryd has said so far (all that I read anyway), I need some massive patching capability! - Some form of integration with Lyle's mixer would be great :) So, in summary: you guys are freekin awesome and I'm waay late to the party!
