I thin kthe last order was around 70, but possibly the fabrication price Wilba got starts at 60 units. He'll have to pipe in on this issue, what the minimum number is to achieve the price he's willing to do this at. We might also appeal to his better nature and ask him to do an order, and simply charge us more. I would pay 30$ instead of 20$ to get the board in september rather than January. But again, it's entirely up to him if he's willing to change his firm stance on how he wants to do this.

We're just keeping track until the numbers are high enough. When i said that the numbers would mean a higher price, it was implied that that meant no group buy. Since you ahd already said the group buy only happens when the price reaches the above stated. Don't worry, no one is making demands for PCBs, we're just keeping track.

Hi... there's a bulk order on the go for Europe... how about North America? Anyone interested? We might save 6$ on the box.. but i bet the cost of reshipping it out would be the same.. maybe it's not worth it.. thoughts?

Good theories, but actually all wrong :) I don't have the chips in hand currently, and I have decided with other things going on right now, this just isn't the best time for me to go out on a limb financially (Financial troubles on the horizon :( ) Sorry for the tease.

Looks like we're at about 10-15 PCB desirers now... when I get home, I'll go through thread and make a list, post it in thread, for easy Wilba scan.

Somehow this very simple and nice thread got all negative just to review The purpose of this thread is not to harass smashtv or wilba The purpose of this thread is ONLY to indicate that, when the next bulk order happens, you are interested in buying PCBs for the MB-6582. Wilba's last bulk order is being packe dup and shipped to group-buyers right now, so the only purpose of this thread is to get an idea of who missed that first group buy, and who would participate in a 2nd group buy. When that number is large enough to make sense for there to be a group buy (to lower prices) then to deal with wilba, on his terms. His prices are VERY good, and when we have enough people, it would make sense for him to do another group order. Anyone is free to find an alternate source in the meantime, no one will get mad if you do that, and Wilba has said he will provide the schematics. So that's another option. My intention with this thread was for people l ike me, who found out too late about the group buy, and who would like to make sure that a running tally of how many people will be interested in the next group buy (assuming there is one). That way the demand can be measured. Wilba and SmashTV are both extremely generous, doing lots and lots of work for the community, and I personally want to thank both. Wilba for this schematic/pannel design, and SmashTV for assembling some top notch kits, and providing great support for those kits, directly via email, and on th eboard. Let's remember why we're here. Just to say "I'd be interested in 2 pcbs for the MB-6582". And also, to serve lord Vishnu, on earth!

I don't know what people have what sids available to them. I've been scouring the chinese IC market for a few weeks, and 8580s seem to have vanished.. they'll re-emerge (it comes/goes in waves.. no idea why). BUUUUT, i found a good reliable supply of 6581R4ARs... Would anyone be interested in those? Or do people only want the 8580s? 6581s are great for cynthcart.. (where 8580s just don't sound as raw).. that's my limited view at least .. thoughts?

Whatever the number, we're gathering up people for whatever solution works best.. we're at about 5 right now, that's good! so soon!

This is for people who missed their chance before to get the PCBs, well, for there to be another bulk order, there have to be enough people to warrant one. So... gradually, we'll build up a large enough group here. 1 so far (me)

Maybe this is a dumb question, but i cna't find it anywhere. What is the 25 pin DB port on th eback of the MB-6582 for? 2 midi, obviously, 1/4" stereo outs, what looks to be an earphone jack.. power.. but 25DB? what for?

the 100 sids aren't for me, obviously.
