  1. Any indication of why they were delayed??
  2. Ok, now who wants to make an MBFM patch that sounds exactly like that?? ;D
  3. The bit I enjoyed the most was spotting that this guy genuinely has egg boxes stuck to his wall!!! I've never heard of this instrument though, are they called Hang Drums??
  4. I had that problem when I put together the pots for my prophet64. Still to find a solution i'm afraid, short of cutting down some moulded cables.
  5. Seconded man, to do that on vero is brave! Looks like a really nice job, where'd you get the LCD bezel?
  6. With good reason! Have you encountered the memory structure of expanded VIC20's?? It's mental to say the least!
  7. I believe that most of those were written in the last few years??
  8. I think it's because his brain works in assembler, so he has to translate it before speaking the words...
  9. Save Link...Zelda.... ::)
  10. The 6582 was intended for use in the C65 computer that commodore was developing when it fell into financial disarray. The C65 was to have a stereo pair of SID's, built in floppy drive and compatibility mode with the C64. Unfortunately, it never got past the prototype stage, though there are said to be a good few out there. The 65xx designation suggests that the 6582 was developed using MOS's NMOS process, which dates them prior to the development of the 8580 (using the HMOS process), in line with the development of the C65, although I suspect that they're actually identical since the 6582 does not run appreciably warmer than an 8580.
  11. Seriously, nobody here that can shed any light on this??
  12. The theory with using high-end plastic caps (well, from what I can gather in the HIFI geek land), is that ceramic caps can be slightly microphonic, or piezoelectric, which can cause distortion. Personally, I'm not sure how much difference it makes in this application, but I use the best caps I can (within reason, no $20 Spragues here ;) ).
  13. Hehe, sorry dude, got a little overexcited :-[ Stick some pics up though, i'm itching to see your progress, particularly since you're working so fast!
  14. Dude, i'd appreciate it if you could send them over to me for sure! I'll happily pay postage or whatever's needed. I'm in the UK if that matters??
  15. Cheers dude, keep me updated. I do have some reservations about using an inverter, because it's likely to add noise at 2-4kHz in most instances, which will be difficult to eradicate. I've got an idea for making some backlights using some SMT LED's, in which case i'll keep you updated ;) If I can make it work without adding too much noise, I'd definitely like to use the EL backlight.
  16. Anybody got any idea where I could find a schem for a backlight inverter?? Or even somewhere dirt cheap I can obtain one?? I need some for these old 2x20 LCD's I bagged dirt cheap!
  17. Duuude! I remember those back in the day! Maybe I could get some, though I recall they didn't actually smell all that good....
  18. Cheers, Ed! I'd appreciate that. Drop me a line if and when, and we can sort something out. EDIT: How's the leg btw??
  19. Great idea! I always wanted to do the exact same thing, using the start/stop buttons as the LCD buttons. I could never find a dead datasette cheap enough though, and I flatly refuse to gut a working one. If you have a spare white one... ;)
  20. Forgive me if these seem like stupid questions, but I still can't seem to get my head around the uCapps documentation sometimes. With regards to the MBFM control surface, there are a row of five knobs and buttons, forming a matrix. One knob in particular refers to the ADSR controls. Does this mean that it controls the global amplitude envelope, or do you need to select specific operators etc.. If I understand the documentation, would it then be possible to assign the ADSR to either VCA or Aout (for driving a VCF)?? using just a button and some indicator LED's?? I gather than EG5 is assigned to pitch, AOUT and volume, but can I have a seperate envelope for the Aout, and one for volume?? I'm confused! What I'm thinking is, that I want to build my MBFM + AOUTLC with just a menu encoder & LCD, a handful of buttons and the ADSR control for quick tweaks. On the control surface, I need to access VCA ADSR (one encoder, four LED's and one button), VCF Freq and Res and Env Depth (three encoders) and ADSR (another button on the ADSR knob?)and then just three buttons for patch up, patch down and +10patches. Now, is this at all possible, and if so how is it achieved? I'm sorry but I just can't get to grips with it!
  21. Any idea why it costs 3euros more paying in euros compared to AUD? :) Hehe, seriously though, great deal. I'm hoping to get in for the next one, I REALLY can't afford to splash out on eight more SID's right now. Ignore all that, i'm an idiot!
  22. Ermm,in short, not much!! I guess something like £5 would be ok??
  23. Anybody here got a spare softpot?? I'd very much like to get my hands on one!!
  24. Ah, well my point was just that if a handful of people view the thread multiple times, it adds up. Say thirty people post ten times... But yeah, I definitely think there's a market for a x0x clone, I'm not sure the x0xb0x is it though.
  25. Well, how many times have you viewed this particular thread??? Personally i'm well into double figures...
