  1. what you are asking for (I think, I'm a bit confused from the explaination) is very easy to do in C. Find the function that is triggered when a midi note is received. Build a switch or series of If statements that catch the note value. Turn LED on or off according to a flag (variable) for each LED Then reset the flag. easy!
  2. - DISCLAIMER: Never, ever, ever, ever work on lethal voltages (pay someone else), dB is neither human nor a good role model. - This is also why when working on lethal voltages you never ever ever work with two hands - this would mean potential for voltage to go through one arm - through the heart and out to ground via the other arm - this is how people die. Best practice: Kneel with your RIGHT knee on the ground and use your RIGHT hand - this way any voltage will go through the arm, down the torso and down the right leg to ground, possibly saving your ass.
  3. I have one of those Irons - but in a black case, the cardboard box is identical. I have had no problems whatsoever with the iron killing components. I'm in the UK and I know the earth pin is going to ground via the mains.... you attach a wrist strap to the back of the base to ground yourself... that would be about the worst thing you could do. You want to make a path to earth that avoids any ESD. Electricity will take the easiest route to ground, that's why you ground yourself; grounding the core would mean that the electricty heads to ground via the component, tracks of the core leading to ground....
  4. I use these: http://www.etymotic.com/pdf/erme-instructions.pdf they are custom made for your ears - after a freaky fitting session where they fill your ears with plastic! They are great for cutting through muddy systems and you can hear a lot more clearly without your ear compressing. I can hear people perfectly on any dancefloor.... but even these aren't gonna save your ears from a continuous loud noise source - you MUST take breaks away from the noise...
  5. now you know why there are grills in the front of the box - they are so you can see when you need to replace the cat. Only problem now is the cat rescue center is getting suspicious.....
  6. sure is! I built a master section + 1 channel and mounted them in cardboard when designing my box
  7. yup - sasha just saved me some typing :) No - it's lighting fast, I'm re-mapping some of my buttons to other midi events and notes and there is no noticable delay. Unless you have a ton of other stuff executing all the time I can't think of any problems.
  8. The dBLive is not a MBLC or variant, the code isn't even based on the MBLC code - I didn't even realise there was a C version of the MBLC till I was about 95% done with the software. I haven't found this to be true. The easiest way to do what you need (assuming I have understood correctly) would be to set a variable to store the current selected bank, and using a switch or IF statements fire off different midi events depending on the bank selected.
  9. there ya go: and the original diagram: I'm using a quantum superposition field interfaced into the Mackie Protocol to run things inside the box....
  10. it's the best way to mount those buttons given the variables in my box. the whole square lights up nicely....
  11. You've seen the teaser shots and video here: http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php/topic,10583.0.html Now it's time to see the dB Live in some more detail as she is officially finished for rev 1.0.
  12. the dB Live has full control over everything with midi feedback..... if you read this post you'll notice I'm using the Mackie protocol....
  13. hehehe - it's our thread.... so it sounds like it's a s/w issue. it's been so long since I built the skeleton for my app I can't remember if the test program supports encoders... could be time to post another thread specific to that issue...
  14. sounds like you either have the wrong pins assigned or the encoder is wired wrong....
  15. oh and check that the buttons are sending a note on / note off on each button push
  16. mmm, I haven't played with live 7 yet - I'm waiting for a few months and a few sub versions.... try loading http://www.ucapps.de/mios/ain64_din128_dout128_v2_0.zip see if any of the buttons or douts are sticking in the on position. also try triggering the clips with that application loaded and let me know how it goes....
  17. I'm having no problems at all... Some questions: What version of Live? Which Remote Script is active? What application are you using on your midiBox?
  18. for my ears the samples for 1 sound a lot more like an original 303, the 2nd are a lot cleaner but don't sound as authentic
  19. you spin me right round baby, right round like a record baby.....
  20. thanks Cimo - I am already picking that application to bits ;) Moxi - It's not an LC - it's a dB Live ;) I'm using the Mackie Protocol with Ableton Live and writing a custom app (which is pretty much finished right now)
  21. oh wow AC - thanks so much for the info, you've saved me some time researching there! I was joking with Stryd, as I know it's the same amount of work and I was going to do it, I just like poking IT ppl about the dreaded scope creep ;) Turns out I got even less work to do now - thanks again AC...
