  2. at conrad there are some rubber frames for an LCD, I've got one here. That would make it look real sweet.
  3. I think the TS just didn't understand that 300 buttons is waaaay too much. He should use another solution, like 32 + 20 buttons or whatsoever. Don't call him autistic ;) he just didn't know it was that much work..
  4. You could perhaps use 4 encoders with a click function, you can order them at smash. That would save you from a AIN module... and you get the advantages of a encoder.
  6. What if your guitar gets damaged? It won't be of any use anymore... why not building it in a floorcontroller?
  7. Ever tried Ableton Live for your DJ stuff?
  8. Well, they are easy to remove. Carefully bend the four pins at the bottom, and pull the non-metal part out. Then remove the spring, and put it all back together. Then bend the metal pins back on it's place, and you are done.
  9. Your pictures didn't work... There is a limit of pots and encoders, but please, remember that you will need a DINX4 module per 32 inputs. So, try not to use 34 inputs, because there will be a lot of unused inputs. Try to use 32, or 64. For the loops, can you assign a rotary encoder (endless knob), to select loop-length, and then a button to start/stop the loop.
  10. You can control a lot of parameters with a MidiBox 64E, just buy 1 core, 1DINX, 1 AINX, and you are finished. Check the 64E pages. Audiocommander, why should he start with another project? Why not just a 64E?
  11. How about 16 encoders with led-rings and 1 encoder to select the bank you are editing. With some banksticks (8?) you can control a lot of parameters..
  12. Perhaps it's an idea to ask SmashTV to sell this PCB's. Almost everyone uses his shop, and this design is brilliant.
  13. I don't want to ruin your plans, but why not buy a Behringer motorfader control-area (150 dollars?), and build yourself a Midibox 64 with 64 pots/buttons. A lot cheaper, and you are building something yourself. But you have some motor faders, and they are very handy.
  14. What about a 6 channel input/output for your laptop/computer. You have a 6 channel mixer, what are you going to mix with that? If there are 6 microphones, you will need to put it in your laptop some sort of way, and that's very very expensive too. So, before you spend too much money, what are you planning to mix/create/do with your midibox. There are lots of people here that already build one, and perhaps they can help you with your design. Because your current design is waaaay too big, there are more ways to do this (and a lot cheaper).
  15. I think that your encoders won't be needed, if you just want a 6 channel mixer. Since it's ableton, why not create something very cool!? I am planning to build 1 case, with some wires to a playstation controller, a nintendo controller, a floorpedal, a effect-box, etc. That way, your live shows will be way cooler to watch and listen. Not just some big-ass box, everyone has it..
  16. I think you should really re-build your design... First of all, you can group encoders, so, button 1 -> equalizers, button 2 -> aux send (monitors?), button 3 -> effects etc. You can create up to 128 virtual pots, and you will not need all the encoders you use now. What's the main you are going to do with this controller? And before I forget, did you read through all the ucaps pages and looked at various MBOX64's that are build, to gather some ideas?
  17. You are all repeating my answer, your solution is a studio fader. They are gliding very good, and should last very long. Something like these: http://www1.conrad.de/xl/4000_4999/4400/4420/4428/442852_BB_00_FB.EPS.jpg It's an ALPS, so you should not have any trouble finding this in another shop near you. These have a very light handling.
  18. Why not cut the crap, and just buy normal lineair faders from an electronic shop, and order 1 or 2 studio faders from Conrad or any other shop that sells them. They are 23 euro or something, and a normal fader will cost you 4 euro. So there is a great difference in quality. Use that one for your cross-fader, and don't waste your time in finding a 10k lineair xfader from a mixer, because they will probably be all logaritmic.
  19. Did u try to upload another App? Or does it freeze or something? We can't say much if you didn't try right ;)
  20. Stryd_one has a point. Perhaps it's a floorboard for an entire orgestra? ;) How about, 2 x 5 buttons, and at the most right or lef, 2 buttons for clip up-down. I don't know how fast you need to trigger clips and if you a monitor to see the clip u are triggering, but this could work. In ableton you can tell your clips to select the next one you need, to trigger that one. Perhaps that's an idea. I don't know how you trigger them. Perhaps, if you explain, someone can tell you the best solution or at least help with it. As stryd_one said, 100 buttons will need a HUGE case, much money, lot's of soldering, more than 1 core, etc etc etc. So, not the best option :P
  21. Why would you want 100 buttons in the first place? If you use ableton, there are many ways to trigger clips, and a 100 button solution aint the best option ;) try an encoder and 10 channel buttons, that should work perfect. You can control up to 10 channels and with the encoder you browse the one you need...
  22. I think they are 1 x 1 cm.. if I take a look at that Monome. But the buttons are implemented, you don't get only the sillicone buttoncaps? The price would be very expensive for only some caps :P
