  3. I don't know if this is normal, but my ALPS encoders STEC12E08 (datasheet attached) send two inc/dec steps each tick I turn. They have 24 detentions. I tried MIOS_ENC_MODE_DETENTED, MIOS_ENC_MODE_DETENTED2, and MIOS_ENC_MODE_NON_DETENTED already. Also, the encoder speed thing (speed mode 2, divider 3 etc.) does not seem to work with Ableton Live nor with Cubase. When turning the Vpots too fast, most ticks are even not recognized, or dropped, which results in even slower speed. When I switch to GPC mode, the encoder speed works as defined though. Has anyone made experiences like that? 700708-da-01-en-ENCODER_STEC12E08.pdf 700708-da-01-en-ENCODER_STEC12E08.pdf
  4. it is a good point to start out with! i wish i could program software...
  5. Very fresh and clean case. How do you call the spaghetti inside? My TupperSID were offered names like "ranSID" or "panSID canton"...
  6. This is a PDF file with all instant mapping functions of the Remote SL for Ableton Live. Imitate, emulate and enjoy. Remote SL mapping for Ableton Live.pdf Remote SL mapping for Ableton Live.pdf
  7. That's what i meant to do. I thought when giving +5V to J2, do I have to remove the 7805 and rectifier? Guess not.
  8. Regarding the original topic of this thread: Sorry, I didn't continue that Remote SL MIDI stuff, cause a MBLC does just everything and more than a Remote does. But I can post the MIDI data that Ableton and Remote SL work with to communicate, if somebody here likes to see. I have no plan about the MIDI traffic that makes up the LCD messages on the Remote though.
  9. stunning another reason for getting a wii
  10. Hey TK, may I ask what the small IC with 8 trimpots inside your MBLC is? Visible on this pic: http://www.midibox.org/midibox_lc_photos/27.html I guess it is that individual voltage adjustment for each motorfader. Is it helpful for every MBLC or just if the motorfaders behave unusually? Thank You for the great MIOS vision, Seba
  11. You post your fancy new controller on 2007-12-10 and want to sell it on 2007-12-16? Why do you want to sell it at all? You created it!
  12. got it. i am not the forum expert so i am a bit lame... :D
  13. interesting. i am gonna browse the manual and give it a try under WINE. thanks!
  14. yes... when i search now, i only get this topic.
  15. strange, last time i typed it i had no results. could it be i didn't get the archive results?
  16. How come the search for "Monodeck" bears no results here? ;) Isn't the Monodeck II a parade example of the power of Midibox projects?
  17. really nice! where did you get those plastic edge protectors?
  18. @sasa: hvala! alright, since i just can't resist using more LEDs for the meters, it will be six of them. I thought about connecting the LEDs like this: |*-----*-----*-----*-----*-----*| 1st 4th 6th 8th 10th 12th So I have the two outer areas for sure: minimal signal and clipping.
  19. it definitely has style! very beautiful work! is that... leather??
  20. @Sasha: I am goint to use a 40x4 LCD for my LC, too. Did you use one before? Did you find out anything? cheers, Seba
  21. i understand. thank you! another question: can i just connect the first LED pin to a LED to have something like a signal indicator (the LED lights up when a signal is present), and the 12th pin to another LED to get a clip indicator? or do i have to connect the whole dozen to get a closed circuit? sorry for asking, it's just not that clear neither in the wiki nor here in the forum.
  22. If I use a PSU that supplies clean +5V/+12V/-12V, should I remove the 7805 from the core module? Seen that in a file about a switching PSU for the MBLC, just wondering if that could have been the reason for the YAC and the amps got "incomfortable".
  23. Alright, i got it. A question i didn't find in the forum is about the LED meters. Does their sensitivity, or better measure scale, depend on the DAW software? Or could one could roughly say, for example the fourth of 12 LEDs corresponds to a level about -12 dB or something? I read that the 12th LED correlates somewhat to clipping-- i guess that works in every host, since they all speak in the logic/mackie control protocol. Right?
