You should connect MD from core to SC of sid board.

If I see it right, you have to connect the clock to the PWM. PWM stands for puls wide modulation, with the pwm output from the core you clock the sid chip. On the old sid bord was an crystal which did that, but there were some problems. So TK clocked it with the core to fix this hardware bug. Read about the old schematic like NorthernLightX writes, so you´ll understand it better. Greetings Markus

I take a look at the datasheet, you don´t need the R5 here try 2,2K in stead of 1,2K for R6.

Hi, to me it sound like an problem with the output signal of the optocoupler. Try an smaller resistor perhaps 1K or less. A second thing, perhaps your pic is clocked to slow. So it can be the wrong crystal. But with an feasibility of about 95% it should be a problem with the optocoupler. Greetings Markus

Hi, du kannst ja mal mit einer LC anfangen und wenn du damit fertig bist mit dem nächsten Step deines Projektes weiter machen. (So ne Art Modularbauweise.) Das was du da beschreibst wird aber in der Tat nicht einfach, da steckt einiges an Weiterentwicklung mit drin, zumal du mit dem Midibox Mixer nur Lautstärke und Pan kontrollieren kannst. Weiß nicht ob dir das reicht? Lass dich aber nicht entmutigen. Gruß Markus

Da hab ich bereits geschaut. Finde die Seite aber nicht gerade benutzerfreundlich. Andauernd liest man was von Tabak und Alkohol. Habe auf jeden Fall festgestellt, dass diese Sendung dem Zoll unterliegt. Hab ja auch ne email mit meinen Fragen vor ner Woche an die Zollbehörde geschickt. Deswegen will ich sie auch bestellen. Will mir noch ne Midibox lc bauen und brauch dazu eben core,din,dout und mf Platinen. Als ich die Bilder auf Smash´s Seite gesehen habe dachte ich mir nur, die muß ich haben. Mikes Platinen sind auch nicht schlecht, die habe ich bei meiner letzten MB verbaut. Gruß

I have no experience with this project, but when I looked at the schematics I saw the 8 pots. When I´m right, you can adjust the outputrange with this 8 pots. There is a mathematical formula on the schematic. You should check the value of your resistors and then calculate the value of the pots. Best regards Markus

Hi an welcome, to question 1) I can say 12V are O.K. But it doesn´t only depents on the voltage (12V), the PSU should have enought power so it can afford enough current. When you´ll take this PSU you have to stuff a 9V voltage regulator on the sid board (for a 8580 chip) and a 5V voltage regulator on the coreboard. You should have a look at the datasheet of the 5V regulator for the max input voltage, but I think 12V should be O.K. 1B) There are powerjacks which have a thread so you could fix it in your case. 2) You shoud have a datasheet and compare it with the cores specs. 2a) Yes and no, I´ve testet those cables, some of them causes problems in my midibox, the connectors didn´t fit everytime.
