Hooray! A few of you know that i have been building my home heating system from a pallet load of parts for the last long long time...... The pallet arriver 5.5 months ago *whack* Hoooray Finally today I turned on my system and produced wonderful warmth. So glorious.... forced hot water, pex, cast iron radiators, indirect fired hot water heater, Bianchi manifolds.grunfos pumps.triangle tube boiler... shiny brass and copper.... heck it even has a couple leds that occasionally flash. I think i need to make it midi controlled now....err I know this has nothing to do with midibox... but it is DIY, although he inspector doesn't know that. If anyone is even slightly interested Ill go down there and take a picture or two. I felt like sharing. So there! Hoorrrayy! PS hire a plumber I am sure the plumber could have done it in a couple days... :) Lief

Hey now... I'm not actually saying the cake isn't good... but thanks for the compliment either way... I usually only get called crazed at work...

My suggestion, give me your addy, Ill mail you Twinkies, replace the "Savoiardi" cakes with Twinkies, replace the strong bitter coffee with Dunkin Donuts regular, replace the Cream stuff with cool whip lite from the tub (frozen), and replace the wine with Mad Dog 20/20 (preferably peach) and replace the chocolate dirt with some good old nesquick powder, and now, now my friend we are talking gourmet!!! server chilled with MGD in the can :)

Are those twinkies???

We you are right about that, it certainly is different. I do not have that 128D, I would not, could not, in a boat....would not, could not with a goat..... Lief
-
Well I dont think this is a 128D and even a lowly 6581 is woth the 5 dollars paid. I dont mind admitting "im a butcher" the case would be pretty unsafe wither way :) Lief
-
Well Thank you, I can indeed see that they are not the same, I guess really I should have just looked harder for myself. Thanks, Lief
-
Thanks Jimp, Well no harm in trying, Ill see if I cant get myself an 'A' version... Thanks, Lief

Just so were clear, Im refering to the C64C case (not the old brown C64 case) with the 8580 in it, which i know is in the thinner case, Im just not sure if its identical. :) Lief

err... the website says The MAX6006-MAX6009 ultra-low-power shunt references are ideal for space-critical and low-power applications. They are offered in 3-pin SOT23 packages,... SOT23 being the magic number then perhaps I didnt get the wrong part then.. damn this is small... Am I missing something? Lief

Hi Folks, I just found a C128 at a yard sale this weekend. It and all the other crap (2 disk drives, printer and piles of software) were had by me for a wonder $5. The C128 and 4 cast iron pans cost me $10, not bad :) Anyways, I understand that I might have a 8580 in there, or perhaps not. What I really wanted to know as I have shoved this box in my closet for later investigation, is the C128 and C64C cases exactly the same??? They look the same at a quick glance, but I am wondering if they are identical? Does any one know? Thanks, Lief

Oh Yeah, I failed to mention that, I ordered it up with my samples, but I am pretty sure I ordered the wrong part (this wouldnt be the first time, ask Jimp he knows ;)...) I got part # MAX6007BEUR+, ( I think the EUR+ is where i went wrong :)) unfortunatly it is sooo small it looks like it should be in a cell phone or maybe a spy cam or something. I will be trying again with the sample once I figure out a larger sized part to order.... (any feedback would be great folks) :) Lief

Hey People, I'm just going to put this out there. I ordered samples of the 525 chip (X2) from Maxim. The online sample cart told me I could only order 1 but I hit submit anyways and it said I would need managers approval. I did not hear anything back for about a week , but then the parts showed up. So it is possible to get two samples. I double checked with folks here and I did get the correct parts.... Just FYI Lief

Ill get in on this for 6 also... Lief
