It took me some time but I'm back. I have received the Sifan knobs samples, bullet type/ They look and feel great ;D smaller then expected - better Sorry for the low quality photos, don't have money right now for a decent camera. Two types - D type (fits the knobs for the x0xb0x) - splint type Both fits 11mm long / 6mm diameter shafts. What do you say, shall we order some ? Asaf

Ganchan, I know that you where talking about the tact switches, I have just added my opinion on the toggle switch for the waveform, I am searching right now for a replacement for it or a cover, maybe a soft rubber, one that is used on Dj mixers.

If it's switches we are talking about, I must say that the waveform switch would look unfitting to say the least / ugly to be honest. Maybe we should think about a way to cover it, I really don't know if it would be possible to replace it - boards fitting wise.

Well, there is no choice now, I will just have to build two x0xb0x's Sasha, any left over boards ? ;D

I meant the knurled type, I too got around 100 splined pots waiting for a nice knob to heat them in those cold winter nights.

Goblinz, thanks for the offer, all I really wanted is to have the knobs ;D that's why I started checking all that's needed. If you don't mind organizing then I really don't mind. Regarding quantities, Like I said before, I think that the round shaft type will have a larger demand, I want at least 100 and I read that dj3nk al. produscher want 80 but it's up to you, If you want to organize the Group buy in batches of 25 / 50 / 100... Regarding the D type shaft, I mostly need those for the x0xb0x - thats 8 knobs and would take some more but I don't see myself buying more then 50 as they might just sit in on my table. We just need to see if other future x0xbuilders would like them as well, Asaf

The minimum order is 1000, I think that there would be enough for 1000 with a split shaft, I am getting around 100-200 for myself. The problem might go with the D shaft type, I don't know if we can get to 1000 there but this community always surprises me with the amount of quantities that people order when they get a nice price, "just in case I need more in the future" ;D I guess it's time to post a thread regarding those and see if there is enough interest in them. Sifam has a smaller amount of the bullet type D shaft in black with red pointer and in black with a grey pointer so if we won't get to the minimum for those I could ask them for a smaller amount, I think a black with a red shinny pointer could look really good. I know the shipping price is pretty high, UK ---> Out shipping always cost more then I expect but when you divide it to the number of knobs it's not much to add on, still around 0.2 GPB for a knob, If a UK based member would like to take this on himself it's fine by me We just need to check how much would it then cost + shipping from the UK to all of as. The forward shipping may have a high cost as well, one of the good thing in Israel is the cheap International shipping, My guess is that shipping 100 knobs to the Usa / Europe would cost about $10, so right now I'll wait for any other suggestions and till the samples arrive before moving on the bulk order, Asaf

Knobs regarding, I will open up a new thread for ordering those, samples are being shipped right now. They can ship what they have in stock (as samples) so I would be getting the black knob with red pointer and with grey one. I have asked for the D type shaft to be in north orientation. Shipping for 2000 knobs to Israel would cost 51 GBP which would add 0.025 GPB to one knob. Asaf

Sasha, I remember you talked about orientation, thats why I am asking about it now, as I do not know what to ask for ??? When ordering from them they request details about the orientation, As you know about it, should we wait for the pots to arrive ? or is there something specific to ask for when requesting the orientation ? Right now I'm just checking requests from people to see if we even have enough to reach at least 500 pieces. I'm in for 100 round shaft for sure and for at least 50 D shaft, I would really like to use them on the MB6582 as well when next batch of pcb's will be available. Asaf

When hearing both now, the 2SC945P based x0xb0x have more body while the first sample has a flatter sound. I have looked at http://www.electronicsic.com/sem-2sc.htm they stock both type at the same price $0.79 each

Sasha, I have looked at Sifam, they have those knobs, both in regular and D type shaft, I have send them a quote request just to know if it's even in a normal price range. The soft finish knob body in black with pointer in Grey / Red / Yellow / Green / Blue has no minimum pieces order, all the other are at 1000 pieces minimum. Will update once I will know more, Asaf

Well, back to what important, I have done some screen printing in the past and love the look, as well the option to have more colors. As for laser engraving, never done before so I have no idea, I guess asking for engraving for the text and screening for the added color is too much ::) Price wise, I guess you will know in the near future but just for your opinion - screen printing Vs. laser engraving, I know that in small quantities screening is pricey, don't know about the price of laser but In Israel it's cost is higher then screening, even in small quantities. The sample image you provided in your first post looks wonderful, and if we are going in that direction (I in for it) screen printing is the only option, oh, and you'll have to tell me where to get the knobs in the first photo ;D About the plates, It's up to you and your comport, it doesn't matter to me as It will be painted.
