  1. jerwin - i got some parts from him and he also offers full kits minus case for 400. if i wouldn't be next in turn for official kit - i'd get it right away.
  2. the guy is talking about 9V psu "for $15-20 in any electronics shop" C'mon, i got NIB wireless router with 9VAC 800mA PSU for about $30. http://www.tp-link.com/products/product_spe.asp?id=31
  3. i managed to get it working yesterday. everything worked from scratch, except one faulty led and x0xio overdrive circuit. what a killa machine! i still have to tune this beast, the tm4-tm5 chapter, but hey... :P it sounds incredible. thanks for people involved. Without you this project would not be possible.
  4. thanks for the support, Sasha! ;) my question is how do i test 3-4-5 leds - in their places on x0x pcb - before i solder in all led-resistors.
  5. ok here it is. 6582 panels for lasercut/cnc/waterjet take dxf, and receive solid drawings as free bonus! 8)
  6. heh, done... i put it in random and turn on - something else?
  7. still not tested! or, only on breadboard up to now. i make my x0x along xoxio mod, and now i'm exactly before interconecting between them all altogether. still unsoldered tactiles, led-resistors and leds. i see the progress as this: (soldering in order) led-resistors tactiles sticking leds in their places (one led roughly soldered) installing i/o board (attaching the board) installing xoxio mod (attaching the board) final frontpanel fit leds fit into the frontpanel (hard-sticking, tough!) and soldering them to allign nicely. test. boom. ;) on a breadboard, i see 22K-33K-47K as most comfortable resistance i find. probably 33K is to be used (47 is too much and 22 is very bright yet). How do i test the leds in their places before i go on and finish the unit? i never turned on x0xb0x before. the software is from ladyada directly - so atmel is programmed, already.
  8. does it make sense to use 22K resistors with white leds? Seems like it's bit too high compared to what other people make useful. none of the weaker resistors not making any significance on the light intensity, when driven by 7805 directly from 9V AC tramsformer.
  9. yep - i have it - but no texts/engravings layer inside. we removed all the texts so we cut only holes. if this act not violates any midibox policy, i could share it with you.
  10. trying to order 4 sets of (820pF x2 + 10nF x6) bills my paypal for 15.68gbp with 8.5gbp postage. total of 24.18. worth it? or there's better pricing somewhere... 8) ?
  11. Fail. Try again. Btw, 'gm5x5x5' backwards is '5x5x5mg'. OSX??? edit: no it's not osx. from another pc here it still doesn't work. osx-firefox/win-explorer. gonna try filling this form later from home.
  12. :P
  13. 5% caps is fine. thanks for offer!
  14. a question: what's so critical about styroflex caps found in seppo's BOM, and which substitute could be found for that? neither mouser nor digikey stock 'em. ;) searching string 'styroflex' end in 0 results.
  15. the painted couple, you mean? Our tests show that paint was applied well as hell! 8) Generally, i would define it as Scratch Resistant coating, but of course if you would try hard with some sharp object, you could.
  16. yep - Kevin's worklog.
  17. No idea, Phil. Please send it here, i will analyze and examine it first before i verdict.
  18. omg. only yesterday i bought 45 white leds, all of them - of course :-[ - 5mm. shit. luckily it's my local shop and they won't make me troubles with it and will stock white 3mm leds to exchange. btw, sasha: i'm thinking about black rowmark texture: is it same thickness as the panels you made from brushed-aluminium-like rowmark? Probably i gonna make myself one locally from texture too, to suit it's xoxio twin, - if the price is right. Already got contacts of local rowmark distributor.
  19. i started to read into details when "time has came". Somehow missed that line. :P no matter, now at least psu section works fine. ain't it too close to have 15VDC on 2200uf 16V caps?... i think replacing them with 25V ones will increase them in height - which is bad, as xoxio is waiting to be placed in there.
  20. SHIT!!!!! i spent all night desoldering parts from the i/o board because of this... couldn't understand why i have no voltage nowhere!!!!! shit. my fault. >:(
  21. heh.. you're opening a door to old memories.... safety matches stick as well :P
  22. terrific idea. (next on queue after x0x)
  23. bargain for knowledge gained, you mean. ;)
