  1. both the paining and anodising i got free (connections!). lasercut - a set for $25. On top of this add gas to the respectable places. (about 70$) Screening free as well (locally) Please do not ask me to make some panels for you: I would not take this job off from Doug, especially after his investment into cnc mill for the community. edit:typos
  2. Just like th original. here is the process of making. laser cut ? These are bulletproof size, checked and tested for our super-cool QC acceptance. A studycase: 2 panels were processed differently to compare the end result. Paint, applied at stove (heat? correct me with right term for that) and anodizing. Both black, od course 8) Anodizing anodised panels ? Those panels were passed to polisher to make the plates flat as much as you can. FYI, Laser cut leaves some marks on the surface (because of melting process), and scratches are unavoidable, in any case, so you must polish before anodizing: all surface marks will be there after the process and every scratch will be be seen, but about this later. polishing: cropped part to check the quality (click to see entire image) ? Production quality. Of course manual processing makes it fine art as almost every other thing on earth, but i was interested intentionally to check the production quality standard (about manual handwork, later - again) even bigger image here Painting Painted Panels ? Those panels were passed to painter, which processes them in heat stove. Painted: cropped part to check the quality ? Production quality. Big image here =============== Manual polishing when anodising backside of anodised panel ? Polished at the beginning with automatic coarse polisher, later manually with 800 to 2000 sandwaterpapers, and silk at the end - before passing it to anodizing. It's truly matte. Details Big image here In the future, in order to make panels for other projects i estimate this studycase as being invaluable lesson learnt with knowledge gained. Now... the screening! Next week.
  3. just take one from a highway nearby, G... will be cheaper for sure than shipping by royal any post over there
  4. naaaaaa-a-a-a-aaaasty! :P didn't think of that. will see where this route gonna take us.
  5. why modify if you can have original? and for free, too? :P edit: china meets china... ;)
  6. yes: ou are misssing 4x500K log dual feedback pots, and header' female connectors (2x and 3x) with crimps, to put on your cables which go from the baseboard headers to power led, fan, etc. This not mentioning header socket for lcd.
  7. i'd like to go with wallwarts, yep... the problem is the components inside [those psu's i have seen] are bizarre! 8) will keep on looking
  8. ok, i got what you mean, i think? The problem is that PSUs i have here are way different, and i don't understand that much in them. those are much smaller, weighting about 50-100g, like those from cellphones, laptops, scanners printers and zip drives. Are those useful too?
  9. peepls, i need your help with 9VAC transformer with 2.1mm plug, euro 220V socket. having difficulty finding one locally. any suggestions where you get yours?
  10. Hi there; I look now into the kit and i see that 2SK30A(O) is not there... but got 2SK30A(GR) instead. How hard is it to get this specific part, and if it really a must to be an (o)? Assuming other guys got the same kits, Please post a/b testimonials about it's affection on sound, if at all? on ladyada forums they say there definitely must be that (o)+(y) couple.
  11. bit offtopic question, maybe any of you know how the lasercut/cnc process manages to fill the holes with paint? is it same process as cutting - but instead drill bit, it goes with paint tube? my guess
  12. same, but finally done it locally - w/o silkscreening (which will follow shortly 8) ). next, is anodizing (cost currently unknown) for one and color paintning (in a heat stove? may be not) for second. After that, screening. up to now, it cost me $25 for a set + raw material fee. list updated - name removed. http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php/topic,12575.0.html
  13. Photo booth app with built-in camera in iMac. Software is a way dumb you can't easily define delay between the shots (i believe it might be resolved by entering scripts in terminal window). So i Had to move quickly. :P Now it's building time!
  14. now stfu and wait like everybody else. :D
  15. this is interesting situation.. ...A week later you say, 'listen im a little short' But she says 'no scratch, no snatch' You say 'look it is better to give' But she says 'beat off creep' ...
  16. http://cgi.ebay.com/ORIGINAL-x0xb0x-kit-tb-303-tr-909-202-roland_W0QQitemZ280281601063QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item280281601063&_trkparms=72%3A1205 Actually, a win-win variant. You wait 1-2 years, buy your "stocks" and immediately sell them, thus multiplying your investment by 2. You said Easy money on net? For sure, when demand is high.
  17. i meant if running it with different soundcards, i understand it only requires 2in/2out which is perfect for any card/external interface then.
