  1. Also used as a coercion device on enemy combatants at Guantanamo... I wonder if something similar to this would work on SMD chips - like for MB FM?
  2. Is this what you are talking about? R-TYPE II: Name Entry
  3. That's fraulein olivia, thank you very much!
  4. Chips have shipped! I took them to the US Postal Office today. Thanks everyone for joining the group-buy!
  5. Hey guys - the chips have been packed up and addressed. Next step is to take them down to the post office and fill out the customs forms, which I will be doing tomorrow. Sorry for the few days of delay - work and family life has been a little hectic this past week!
  6. har har! Chips are here! I'm organizing them and will be shipping soon!
  7. Everyone has paid! Thanks for the quick responses to the PayPal invoices, everyone. The chips should arrive at my house today!
  8. Yeah, and why is there a UK and US version of the instruction manual? Don't we both speak the king's English? And if there are British and American versions, why wouldn't there be an Aussie version?
  9. Wow, the world's first MIDI hedge clipper. TK - any plans to build a MIOS application so I can hook a core module to this thing and get my hedges trimmed before the weekend?
  10. I shipped them to MBgoth. sorry, I had to use them for my school project, due on monday. olivia stopped by and took them to her plastic surgeon.
  11. PayPal invoices just went out!
  12. Curse that strip-board. I never was able to get the OPSU working on one of those and I rebuilt it three times. Sorry, I'm not much help, but I will tell you that I'm new to building electronics to this degree and I struggled with the strip-board. I had better success with the proto boards that have each hole isolated and each hole has a metal pad.
  13. Chips will be delivered to my location on Tuesday, August 19th. I'll start sending out PayPal Invoices before the weekend. Chips will be shipped out next week! Thanks to everyone who jumped in on this!
  14. /tilted/ - I put myself down for four, but I really only need two, so you can have two, if you are still interested. Send me a PM with the ususal information (nick, full name, address, paypal email, regular email) and I'll put you down for two of mine.

    wood!

Hmmm... I may hit you up for some wood working advice in the near future, Doug. I have a grand scheme for a steampunk/victorian style MIDIbox. I threw out the idea of using my metal geiger counter, since it seems easier to work with wood and brass plates. When I get my idea together, would you mind answering questions or providing suggestions for putting things together?
  16. Great! I'm closing the sale. Thanks for doing the German chip testing, Lemonhorse. I don't have a way to test these at the moment, so most likely they will ship untested. However, I have a good reference for my supplier, and he has been selling this batch without issue. They are new old stock. I'll send out individual PM's to gather shipping and paypal information later today.
  17. I can ship all the orders originating in Germany to one address, if you like, no problem. Depending upon the total weight of the package, the shipping cost should be around $6 - $10 USD via USPS International.
  18. We're up to 44 - Just need 6 more chips to be taken to complete the mini-sale and I can place the order!
  19. Thanks for all the work you're putting into this!
  20. Lemonhorse - Any exploration/thoughts/ideas about hooking up multiple AY-3-8912's in one synth?
  21. I tried to break my family out of the Windows cycle a few years ago with Lindows, and yes I paid for the license (hangs head in shame) - but it was the only distro at the time that I thought would convince them to switch over. My goal was to win them to Linux so we could keep the PC costs down (five teenagers in my household). Using older PC's running Linux seemed more cost effective than getting stuck in the upgrade cycle of Windows. I showed them OpenOffice among other things, but it went over like a lead balloon. SO, I'll always have at least one PC in the basement with Linux, but upstairs, Vista is running and the wife is loving Media Center hooked up to cable television with a remote. Ever since Stryd brought this idea up, I can't stop thinking about some way to integrate Puppy Linux with MIDIbox, but that's way over my head and way off topic for this thread. I'll store that one away for another day, after I've gotten more MIOS/MIDIbox experienced. Stryd: All this just to say, YES, let us continue on with the Labuntu project. I'm available to help in anyway my abilities will allow. I'm in agreement that Full and Live&Persistent installs should be default.
  22. That's the beauty of Linux - it's extremely configurable. But, that also means it's not always the easiest thing to install for someone unfamiliar with this OS. I would like to see the distro project move forward. dj3nk - I agree that we could easily get bogged down in Linux install help. In order to avoid that, perhaps adding links to the WIKI page for the distro some good Linux tutorials or Linux help forums would be the way to go. We don't need to re-invent the wheel on Linux how-to's and assistance. There's plenty of resources on the web if someone needs assistance installing Ubuntu for their machine's quirks or needs. Maybe a nice point or gentle push towards those resources would avoid the forum getting bogged down with OS installation help requests. I recommend the link I posted earlier to pendrivelinux. Also, a link to the Ubuntu website and forums.
