  1. Ganryu - not sure if you are located in North America, but if you are, check out the deal at Ponoko on 3mm black acrylic sheets. Maybe this could work for your key/button building?
  2. Just as the title states, Ponoko is offering a deal on 3 mm black acrylic sheets until January 23rd for North Americans. For P3 size only.
  3. Found some Force-Sensing Resistors at Trossen Robotics Okay, if I add any more info, I'm in danger of hijacking this thread. So, I'm stopping now.
  4. I've been lurking on this thread because the project sounds really, really cool. I never learned to play the traditional piano-style keyboard. So, if I'm going to learn, using this layout might be fun and unique. Thought I would jump in with a suggestion/idea/ramble since you are at the switch-purchasing stage for the keys. The first thing I thought when I saw this project was, "I wonder if there is a way to set this up so that key-press velocity is measured and sent to the synth?" Obviously, there are a lot of synths with traditional keyboard layouts that measure velocity. Surely, it can be done on he hex-board layout? I've done some preliminary research, nothing big. It seems to me that you could achieve this by using a switch that can record the first depression of the key, then the release of the key, sending a signal both times. Then it would take a cpu to calculate the time lapse between the two signals and determine the velocity, translate that data into part of the midi data sent out of the device. I think that is how synths that measure velocity work. Not to sure... This might be possible with the right switch. The other determining factors would be: 1. Can the original Core or Core32 handle the calculation? 2. If one of these can, one would need to know how to develop the code. Anyways, this is just a random idea. But, wanted to share it before you purchased your switches. I'm still knocking around the internet to try to find switches that would work this way. No luck yet. EDIT: Found The Terpstra. It can be done. Just need to find out how...
  5. Selling two non-working SID's Anyone else have ideas of what you can do with non-working SID's?
  6. Purple on red? Fogettaboutit. I voted. And thanks for the bulk order!
  7. Is yellow on black a possible option? What about white on orange? Here are some examples for polling purposes:
  8. Nice little project, SSP. I think it should added to user project list on ucapps.de and the wiki. I'm curious to know more of how this works. I understand the RWD, FWD, STOP, PLAY and RECORD functions for recording sound using DAW software. Tell us more about the other functions. I plan on using Ardour or Rosegarden soon enough. I can see where this little puppy would come in handy.
  9. You know, I'm an IT Project Manager by trade, located in the USA. And all of my systems developers are located in Melbourne. I wouldn't be surprised if Stryd is one of them. They all have his sense of humor. I will have to start dropping midibox quotes on conference calls to see who takes the bait.
  10. Been in that situation many, many times. Wait, I think I see him...
  11. A guy with over 8,000 posts suddenly disappears for four months. Hope all is well.
  12. I like it! Listening to it at work.
  13. I tried and tried for that entire 1 hour and 44 minutes, but never got through! Well, looking on the bright side, that's $7 in shipping saved to use in SmashTV's shop! I'll put it towards a Core32...

  15. The Oscilloscope would be a fun little project. I wonder if it would help me with learning Frequency Modulation after I finish my MIDIbox FM?

    The Razer

I bet Wilba could ponoko the hell out of this design.
  17. Good catch. Thanks flip. And thanks nILS. Nice to know fellow hobbyist's got my back! so...I guess I'm not interested. But thanks anyways!
  18. I thought about that - but when I checked out the local Radio Shack and Wal-Mart, 8 GB SD Cards are going for $20 USD or more. I probably could find a US company that sells them online cheaper, but add shipping... I'm guessing shipping from Germany to US is around 4 euro ($8 usd). SLP - if the card is still available, please let me know. I'm still interested. Thanks for the offer!
  19. I would be interested in the SD Card. How can I send you shipping money? I live in USA, zip code 64137. Thanks for the offer! Mike
  20. It should work fine with one caveat. The C64 PSU and C128 PSU both output 5VDC and 9VAC. So, using the C128 PSU is a possibility. The caveat is that the C128 PSU has a square connector. Finding a port for that connector would be tough. They are not standard, and from what I've researched, were produced for or by Commodore just for their products. You could desolder one from an old C128 board, maybe? But, I'm not sure how it would integrate with the MB6582 baseboard. That would take some research and planning on your part. The other option is to use the C128 psu, cut off the square connector and somehow wire it to the MB6582 board or to a connector that fits a power port that works with the MB6582 board. But, with all that trouble, maybe time would be better spent tracking down the source of that hum. I have my baseboard almost complete. I tested the first SID pair with a C64 PSU and I don't detect any hum at all. My guess is that you may have a problem somewhere else on the board. Or, if it is the PSU that is the problem, you might be able to replace it with another for less hassle then hacking up a C128 PSU.

    Amiga PSU

And, since the Amiga 500 power port connector is impossible to find, and because who wants to destroy an Amiga 500 by pulling the power connector off of the motherboard, here's a nice little four pronger for rewiring the cable along with the matching port. I found it on Mouser. KPPX_KPJX.pdf
  22. Ebay Item 390078975126 Does this mean that the 10 6582's I bought from Wilba are worth $1,300? Sheesh.

    Amiga PSU

Sweet! I'll keep the switching PSU for my Amiga and use the linear for my MBFM. Thanks, nILS.
