  1. the AC value you measure is just a relative value, the effective voltage. to find out which voltages in fact appear you can multiply the measured AC value with the squareroot of 2. the cap's value should be higher than this voltage peak. i don't know about the particular voltage in 6582, but i guess that it should work if they've come with Smash's kits.
  2. yes, please!
  3. there's a long list of soundcards which contain OPL3 on www.ucapps.de in the FM section. but here's also the link to Wilba's new bulk order thread, OPL3 complete chipsets NOS: http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php/topic,13610.0/topicseen.html
  4. and: i have a third which shows a strange DC value: 10.7V~ but then 7.68VDC which seems to me quite high ??? DSC06050.JPG

  8. hi! does anyone know where i can get such female connectors in germany? here at our local electronics store they sometimes have cables already mounted to such connectors, but very expensive. but 'just the connectors' they pretend not to know :o
  9. so no one wants this for some parts like e.g. a few encoders, buttons, knobs, a lcd, not finished module or similar?? i'd say the worst case would be the paia eprom being fried. but even in this case you can prove by the papers that this unit has been purchased originally from paia so there should be no problem to have some cheap replacement. on top of that there is still guarantee. don't be afraid i could want "too much"!
  10. they arrived right now (germany) !! thank you very much!
  11. :D now i finally have a working GM5 !!! quite embarassing though: i got it almost for free from a very nice local midibox member who had already done the SMD part and i just had to finish the normal stuff! perhaps that's why this one works?? not kinda DIY but working! ... but i definitely have to learn it soon too! so many thanks to abcmann who was so kind & gave it to me!!! & thanks TK!!!
  12. hi! guess the german customs really had their fun with them! they arrived today, thank you very much!!!
  13. PM if you're interested! and please remove if this should turn out to be off-topic in fleamarket because of the non-midibox material! edit: all orthographic mistakes DSC03217.JPG
  14. i have all schem, manual, even 1-yr-warranty paper (but i think it was my fault) DSC03215.JPG DSC03216.JPG
  15. last year in august i started to build the 9201DK MIDI drum brain kit (trig->midi convertor) with 9212K drum sensor processing amplifier no psu assembled but not working (no smoke, sparks or similar, just didn't work) and while testing i broke one pin of the DIL connector of a ribbon cable, that was the last time i touched the machine. anyone interested in finishing that build? should be no problem to find out what's wrong for someone more professional than me! i paid incl shipping to germany $235 +customs but want no money for that... i be happy if someone like to exchange sth midibox related, perhaps some parts of a project they won't finish, too (your offering can be worth much less money, too, i'll never finish this one anyways and am happy to change with something i can use) DSC03213.JPG DSC03214.JPG
  16. oh yes please more info... especially how you implemented the keyboard!
  17. you could use different types of encoders. and you could use their button. i'm still building my sid, too (will continue soon) and intend to make use of the button function in some encoders, too. but you'd have to decide in which case it is useful. for example the buttons i use underneath the LCD are still normal buttons while using some of the encoders in the osc, env, filter sections as buttons too. but try the forum search, there are some people who did it with different encoders, you can find pictures that show how they did it (for example look for Vinyljunkie's SID, i can remember this one because he uses the same encoders as i do and makes use of the buttons too.) nice idea this cigar box!
  18. this is an awesome recording Phil, i hope you're ok with me recording that, just for personal use of course!
  19. sorry, no. the only place i know who have them listed NOS and quite expensive, but i haven't ordered there anything yet.
