  1. We're at 70 chipset orders... Order NOW!
  2. Cool, thanks for the info... I haven't ordered from futurlec before so I will check them out. I'm not horribly rushed, since I haven't gotten my pcb's yet, and I want to avoid placing as many orders as I did while building my MB808... I kept realizing I needed 1 or 2 more things... My own fault. Plus I still have to silkscreen or get a vinyl for the MB808... I almost wished I had just forked out the money to have FPE engrave it... I also cannot seem to figure out why my AOUT_NG will work with my MB6582, but will not budge with my MBSEQ... all loose ends I should probably fix before beginning a new project... cheers, grizz
  3. Thanks for the response Altitude... Here is what I have completed as far as sourcing for the VCF... There is a column for Mouser and one for Newark... Fuzzylizard gave me his order invoice from his VCF mouser order which helped a bunch... I'd be interested in what you (or anyone else for that matter) thinks... I didn't bother sourcing the resistors yet through Newark... I can't imagine that taking very long... Also, I hope it is not improper of me to use this thread for this... if so sorry! 4. Is there anyone in Germany that would be willing to let me piggyback on their Reichelt VCA and VCF orders, and then ship me my parts? There are some parts that are either back ordered, or seemingly unavailable (styroflex caps) from Mouser, digikey etc. PM me if that sounds doable. I'd be thankful! Cheers, Grizz
  5. I second that bump... even though the "bump" seems to be frowned upon.. We are at 63 orders, so we're getting close. grizz
  6. Thanks nILS! I was hoping for something I could just build on breadboard!!!! Cheers, grizz
  7. I hadn't seen that page... I must of overlooked it. I'll look into getting a JTAG wiggler here in the States. Thanks for the help. grizz
  8. We did some more troubleshooting on this Core32, and we found some new things out. First off, all the voltage checks are fine, and we replaced the crystal... which didn't do the trick. Next we stuffed J27, and what we got was a solid green LED. This leads me to think that the main Core32 software has crashed. My understanding is that we need a JTAG or a CAN interface, both of which I have very little knowledge of. I am going to do some research when I get some free time, but if anyone has any suggestions I'm all eyes. Also, if we do indeed need to burn the Chip again and someone has the proper hardware I'd be very thankful if I could send the Core32 off to you. Cheers, Grizz
  9. Hey all, I'm just checking in just in case my question got lost in the busy shuffle of things since it took me awhile to respond with my voltage test results... basically a veiled *BUMP*...;-) cheers, grizz
  10. So I ended up using 99% Isopropyl alcohol and distilled water, and it worked beautifully!! Thanks for the tips. Cheers, grizz
  11. Thanks for the replies. I use 60/40 rosin core solder... I'll do a little more in depth research to find the right cleaner... cheers, grizz
  12. Hey, I am gearing up to clean the flux off my MB-808 board... I'm nervous! Can anyone tell me that this product will or will NOT work? Mouser # 577-1631-5S I'm pretty sure its fine from looking at the datasheet, but I just want to have a second, third, etc. set of eyes verify that it won't destroy anything.... Cheers, Grizz
  13. We're now at 48... still a ways to go... *BUMP*
  14. Hi again, So we installed the external psu, and no luck. The green light no longer even blinks three times. J23 was stuffed and that was causing the LED to not blink. So what happens when powered up is that the LED blinks 3 times slowly and then turns off. It seems like it could be the crystal or the 33 caps? I tested the voltage at J2, and get 5.04 volts. SO it is not a power problem... another edit: So when we connect the midi in and out of the core32 to my computer, power it up, and query when the LED is blinking we get: Operating Systen: MIOS32 Board: MBHP_CORE_STM32 Core Family: STM32F10x Chip ID: 0x00000000 Serial: #35FFFFFF5836393645612543 Flash Memory Size: 524288 bytes RAM Size: 65536 bytes MIOS32 Bootloader © 2009 T. Klose After the LED has blinked 3 times and turned off, then there is no response when running a Query. cheers, Grizz BTW: This is a second core32, not the first one that we are troubleshooting the AOUT_NG with.
  15. I do own one... Results: A)J19:SO: When powering up: 3.89, and after the SD card is found .10 J19:SC: When powering up:4.55, and after the SD card is found .11 J19:RC1: 3.93 steady. J19:RC2: 3.93 steady. B)J19:SO: 3.89 J19:SC: 4.55 J19:RC1: 3.93 J19:RC2: 3.93 Cheers, Grizz
  16. I used another SD card, and here are the steps I took: I have two SD adapters and two micro SD cards at my disposal, both of which are soldered correctly and worked prior to upgraded from Beta20 to Beta21. Tests: 1. I removed the microSD card (SD1) from the adapter attached to J16 and inserted the second (SD2) microSD card. Result: Same error 2. I removed the adapter from J16 put the other adapter in place and inserted SD1 into it. Result: Same error 3. I inserted SD2 into the adapter. Result: It successfully created a new session. 4. I switched adapters again, and this time put SD1 in place (this is the original configuration that was giving me problems) Result: It successfully created a new session. So it seems to be intermittent. Its possible that the IDC connector got jingled around moving it between my house, practice space, and shows... But I would think that it wouldn't switch between already created sessions if that was the case. I'll mess around with it a bit more, but I just got a new resistor network for the AOUT_NG jumper, and I want to try that out. Cheers, grizz
  17. Okay here is the error that I get. It flashed really quick so it took some time... SD Card Error Fat32 E 3 (Fat FS: D1) Cheers, grizz
  18. I have noticed something strange that is happening with beta 21 on my SEQ. When I try and create a new session I get a SD card error. Unfortunately I don't have my sequencer here with me as its at my practice space because I have a show tonight. It gives some sort of FAT32 message. I can however open and save already existing sessions. I will edit this post tomorrow with the exact error message that I get. Cheers, grizz
  19. I updated to V4.0BETA21 successfully today! :-) The only issue I had was these messages: [101205.130] [sEQ_FILE_C] ERROR: unknown parameter: MIDI_IN_Channel [101205.132] [sEQ_FILE_C] ERROR: unknown parameter: MIDI_IN_Port [101205.134] [sEQ_FILE_C] ERROR: unknown parameter: MIDI_IN_TA_Split [101205.136] [sEQ_FILE_C] ERROR: unknown parameter: MIDI_IN_TA_SplitNote Is this a problem? I'm thinking it has to do with settings that I have that are no longer compatible or relevant with the new version? Cheers, Grizz
  20. Thanks for the help. I got a kit from SmashTV, so the style of resistor network should be right, so I think I either got a defective one or fried it somehow. It is definitely the correct value RC as well. I'll look up directions on how to build a RC myself with 4 resistors and see if that does the trick. Cheers, grizz
  21. So i guess it is update time... I still can't get the AOUT_NG to work with my MB-SEQ, but it works fine with my MB-6582. SO where I'm at is that I know the problem is somewhere on the SEQ end. I get a 5 volt reading on the 5v power rails on the AOUT_NG when it is hooked up to the SEQ, and I know that I have it connected correctly. Also When I have my multimeter clamped to the CV pins on the AOUT_NG I get a reading of 0.02... Questions: Is there a method to test the resistor network without de-soldering it? Would someone be willing to post me a copy of there MB-SEQ V4 files that they are using successfully with Wilba's control surface and an AOUT_NG? I know that's an annoying request, but for the life of me I can't figure this out. Cheers, Alex
  22. Thanks for the replies. I like the chip search... I'll be using that in the future I'm sure. I went with these 771-74HC165N from Mouser. Cheers, Grizz
  23. Sorry, 6-10 was quantity, and the other was part of the mouser #. I copied and pasted and then forgot to edit. Thanks! I can't read German, but I think I can figure out of to purchase them. Cheers, grizz
  24. Hey all does anyone know where I can get a hold of 6-10 511-M74HC165 shift registers? Digikey and Mouser are out, and the estimated ship date is sometime in October... I might die of impatience before I get my MB-808 done :-) cheers, grizz
  25. Hey. I am using my laptop USB, so I'll try out a hub with enough juice and see if that does the trick. Thanks, grizz PS: I can't wait to build and play with the 16x16 BLM... Nice work!
