  1. Hey, I finished my second Core32, connected the SD card, loaded the USB mass storage device software, loaded the Wilba hardware file, and when I went to load the SEQ software the Core32 Green status LED turned off... Now when I plug the usb cable into my laptop the status light on the Core32 blinks 3 times and turns off. Does anyone have any ideas about why this is happening? Maybe I fried something.... Thanks, grizz FYI: My computer states that a non supported USB device has malfunctioned when I hook up the CORE32 to the computer...
  2. Thanks for taking a look at the list! Now I can get down to the fun part! Cheers grizz
  3. Hey. I am getting ready to order my parts for my Batch #2 MB-808, and was wondering if someone with a little free time would be willing to verify that the obsolete parts that I replaced are correct/compatible? I don't trust myself fully... I would be very thankful, as i understand that the below list is pretty long. 4. FYI, We're at 32 chip set orders, so we have a ways to go....
  5. Question: Is it a possibility that the Resistor Array in R32 is bad? The one I have in there is the 102, not the 103, which to my understanding is the correct one. It IS oriented correctly. I have checked everything and all is correct. The AOUT_NG works beautifully with my MB-6582, so I know for sure the problem isn't on that end. Here is the piece of code I changed: ################################################## # CV and Gate/Trigger/Sync Setup ################################################## # define the AOUT interface which is connected to the core # 1: a MBHP_AOUT module # 2: up to 4 (chained) MBHP_AOUT_LC modules in 8/8 bit configuration # 3: a MBHP_AOUT_NG module AOUT_INTERFACE_TYPE 3 Cheers, ALex
  6. Hey, Here is what I am sure is correct: - Jumper J26 - Resistor Array R32 - +/- 12V connected to MBHP_AOUT_NG module - JP1/JP2 jumpers of AOUT_NG module stuffed What I think may be the culprit: - wrong wiring between CORE_STM32::J19 and AOUT_NG or - I haven't enabled AOUT_NG correctly in the config file... Although I changed the value from 1 to 3 so that should be right. As for the wiring between the the AOUT_NG and the Core32 I need to take a closer look again. Everything worked great with my MB-6582, which is the pic based core, so the wiring is a bit different. I think I have it correct, as it isn't that complicated, but you never know... Either way I'm pretty sure I've narrowed it down to these two options. I'll post back when I get it working, or if I absolutely can't get it to work. Cheers, Alex
  7. Thanks for the quick reply Thorsten. I got as far as editing the file and changing the value to 3. I'm still not getting any readings on my multimeter. Here are the steps/settings I'm using. Looking at the "event" page. G1T1 Type: Note Port:AOUT Chn: 1 (this corresponds to CV#1, right?) Layer A Controls: Note My understanding is that if I have "Controls" set to note the channel I choose (up to 8) corresponds to the CV channel on the AOUT_NG, and if I have "Controls" set to CC then I am using the CC #'s to control the CV values... example: CC #16 would control CV channel 1. I used the mbseq_v4_interconnections.pdf as a guide for connecting the AOUT_NG to the Core32. Thanks, grizz
  8. Hey all, So I got my AOUT_NG built, and I calibrated it successfully using my MB-6582. Fuzzylizard gave me his recompiled operating system for my MB-6582 so that J6 was enabled. Now that I have the AOUT_NG hooked up to the sequencer it isn't registering any CV values being sent from the seq. Do I also need to enable the AOUT in the sequencer software? If so, does anyone have a recompiled copy they'd be willing to send my way? I haven't gotten down to learning the software end of things yet. Cheers, grizz
  9. Hey all, So i ordered some resistors that i need for my MB-SEQ CS PCB (for the LED's), and I made a bit of a gaffe... I ordered 5% resistors instead of 1%, and I'm not sure if they will work. I ordered quite a few so that I could use them with my MB-808 also. Can someone let me know if they are okay? Not sure how I ordered the wrong ones, as I got the Mouser #'s from an old order of mine that was definitely the correct resistors... FYI: These are the really small resistors, which is what first caught my attention... I meant to order: 1k OHM http://www.mouser.com/search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=MF1%2F4DC1001Fvirtualkey66000000virtualkey660-MF1%2F4DC1001F 220 OHM http://www.mouser.com/search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=MF1%2F4DC2210Fvirtualkey66000000virtualkey660-MF1%2F4DC2210F 470 OHM http://www.mouser.com/search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=MF1%2F4DC4700Fvirtualkey66000000virtualkey660-MF1%2F4DC4700F I ordered: 1k OHM http://www.mouser.com/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=CFS1/4C102Jvirtualkey66000000virtualkey660-CFS1/4C102J 220 OHM http://www.mouser.com/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=CFS1/4CT52R221Jvirtualkey66000000virtualkey660-CFS1/4CT52R221J 470 OHM http://www.mouser.com/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=CFS1/4CT52R471Jvirtualkey66000000virtualkey660-CFS1/4CT52R471J Thanks!!! grizz
  10. Hey all, Just so we're clear on this, I am NOT emailing confirmations for orders. I am being very careful to enter EVERYONE that PM's me an order. Rest assured that if you send me an order I will enter your info into the spreadsheet. Cheers, grizz
  11. Hey all, Okay here we go. If you want to order OPL3 chipsets (chipset is 1x YMF262, 2x YAC512) then PM me your order. Wilba won't be doing custom quantities of each chip, so 1 order will include 1x YMF262 and 2x YAC512. Best estimate is 12.75 AUD per chipset but Wilba won't really know until he gets a new quote from the broker. I will compile the list, and pass it on to Wilba when I get enough orders. As he said the goal is 100, but he might go ahead and get them when we have 80 orders and keep the rest as spares. Do NOT post that your "in" or "count me in" in this forum. If you want to order then PM me the order form. Below is the format I would like folks to use when PM-ing me an order: MIDIbox username (or real name) Postal Address (including country)(please include your real name with your address) email address PayPal email address Quantity of OPL3 chipsets (each chipset is 1x YMF262, 2x YAC512) Example: Allien ben Downstream 2343 NE San Rafeal st. Portland, OR 97211 USA allien@gmail.com allienpaypal@hotmail.com 3 Wilba's super busy, so lets all give him a big thank you! Cheers, grizz
  12. I volunteer... I think its my turn to do some footwork, plus I want some chips. Win win. grizz
  13. Fixed! Traced the problem using the schematics to JD7, D2. A little de-soldering and re-soldering fixed it nicely. It seems like whenever I ask a question I end up fixing the problem myself a few minutes later. Cheers, a
  14. Hey. So today I noticed that a bunch of LED's aren't lighting up. Here's a list: Waveform: Ramp Filter: LP, 03 OSC: 1 ENV: 2 SYNC It looks to me like they all travel through JD8, so I switched 595's, but that didn't work. The voltage at JD9 is 4.66... and the continuity check between the traces from LED to JD8 check. All other LED's work fine. And when I press the said buttons the menu takes me to the correct parameter, so it seems to just be the LED's. The LED's themselves are fine, and are not blown out. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, a
  15. I've bought chips from him... He is the same as "vinagegolden" I believe. He has replaced (for free) every single non-working SID that he's sent me. Shipping takes awhile, as the chips ship from Hong Kong, but it is well worth the wait. Cheers, grizz
  16. Thanks. My eyes seemed to not register the word screw... Cheers.
  17. Hey all, I'm having a hell of a time locating the M3 20mm threaded studs used to attach wilba's MB-SEQ PCB to the front panel. Anyone in the states have any suggestions? Thanks.
  18. Ah well... I checked JD3, which is where the said encoder runs through, and sure enough someone swapped D3 and D4. I wonder who would do such a thing? ;-)... Haven't fixed it yet, but once again, thanks!
  19. Ok... So it is actually the depth encoder, right next to the resonance. I checked for shorts, and it appears that the three pins are all connected... which I believe would be a short ;-), especially since none of the other encoders have all three pins connected....
  20. Hey all, I have one last troubleshoot with my MB-6582 that I am having trouble fixing. The problem is simple enough... The resonance encoder, although mounted properly, is reversed. When turned right it decreases in value, and when turned left it increases in value. Does anyone know of any obvious issues that would cause this? I'm thinking it is not a shift register since it is just 1 encoder acting up. Also, all my resister networks are oriented correctly. Thanks, Alex
  21. It kind of sounds like your midi isn't working to me... 1. Have you shorted pins 25 and 26 on the PIC socket (without PIC installed), which creates a loop between the midi in and out? If you do this you should use the virtual keyboard in MIOS Studio and hit keys, turn knobs, etc. You should see the exact same messages on the midi in and the midi out monitors. If that works, you might want to try out another midi interface. I found out the hard and frustrating way that my US-122 (since donated to a school music program) will NOT properly upload ANYTHING to my SammichSID; not even the preset patches. And in fact it ended up being anything USB wouldn't work, which is probably a hardware conflict on my computers end (although it would upload firmware to my xoxbox, monomachine, etc.), but sticking with a firewire interface was much easier than fiddling with my annoying PC (thanks bill gates!). Hope that helps, and if I've given any bad info someone tell me to shut up! I thought it was time I tried to help someone out, since people have been sooooooooo helpful to me! ;-) Cheers, Alex PS: Thanks for the SID's!
  22. I just wanted to post that I got my MB-6582 panels, and they are awesome!! Thanks!
  23. If this order is still open, I am in for all. Let me know. Thanks!
  24. Hey all, So, Today while I was working on sounds with my SammichSID both the stereo IN and OUT lost the TIP signal. So only the ring is sending signal on the output, and recieving signal on the input. My soldering is all fine, and it worked before. I noticed when I turned it off, went to eat, and came back to sound coming out of only one speaker. I would be grateful for any suggestions as where to start with troubleshooting. Could this be a setting in the software that this newbie changed without understanding the consequences? BTW: I just noticed that when working in the drum engine that when using "voice assign" sound only comes out of R, 4, 5, or 6. thanks. a
