ilmenator Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 Hi stryd_one,how do you know it's a MIDIBox inside??I couldn't find any specific info about the unit on the web... (and I do speak spanish fluently, btw.). Best regards, ilmenator
stryd_one Posted April 18, 2006 Author Report Posted April 18, 2006 Adjusted, according to my poor Spanish translation... I will resume a state of steady scepticism. ;)
ilmenator Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 At first sight, I was under the impression that this could be a MIDIBox, too. But then, it might just be that all of these units share some characteristics: Display, buttons, faders, knobs, almost always in groups of eight or multiples thereof. And they all have microcontrollers inside...But most of them are way less customizable 8) ;DKeep us posted what they say, will you?Best regards, ilmenator
smashtv Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 I'm probably getting this wrong....but the international-incident causing babelfish translation makes it appear that the midistation "boy" (the red box) does DMX out. Did I read this wrong? If so that's one hell of a coding jump for simple cloners. Venezuela is known to not respect any IP rights, even with laws on the books there nothing copyright related is enforced, thus piracy of everything is rampant there.Looks like we have some fresh traffic here from the promotion of that box and people connecting the dots though.BestSmash
moebius Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 Guilty until proven Innocent?I think this is just another controller trying to get it's share from the already crowded midi controller market.Moebius
TK. Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 It is a PIC16F877 based MIDIbox64, this can be easily identified by comparing the LCD screen layout. Especially the "[i.1] N" at the upper left corner says everything (no BankStick, Normal mode)So, it's an non-nameized pirate copy.Best Regards, Thorsten.
Davo Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 Was anyone here able to load http://www.midistation.com.ar/?
TK. Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 Yes, but only under Wintendo with Flash8, not under Linux with Flash7
thefRont Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 So, it's an non-nameized pirate copy.what you're gonna do now?
stryd_one Posted April 19, 2006 Author Report Posted April 19, 2006 Pray that they don't use the profits of their misadventures to fund a holiday to Australia, and mysteriously disappear somewhere in the outback....
cimo Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 we could organize massive mail sending with buying requests so that they couldn t find real buyers among the spam or organize a weekly total connection.. can you image the effect of a massive connection of all midiboxer and friends to their server?
stryd_one Posted April 24, 2006 Author Report Posted April 24, 2006 Hot tip: Only fight crime with crime if you won't get caught...
MEEF Posted April 24, 2006 Report Posted April 24, 2006 Hot tip: Only fight crime with crime if you won't get caught...haha yeah works for CIA, governments & even whole countries ;)
cimo Posted April 24, 2006 Report Posted April 24, 2006 connecting to their site is not a crime ..sending a mail is not a crime...mmmm .. cracking their website would be a crime!! cool
stryd_one Posted April 28, 2006 Author Report Posted April 28, 2006 Might I suggest the discussion be taken off-forum? No offense intended....
thefRont Posted April 28, 2006 Report Posted April 28, 2006 yeah, you should discuss this with TK directly. But maybe he is already doing something about it.
