  1. Hi TK! Thanks for looking into this! My use case is like this: I have a 3U rack mount lpc17 based SEQ V4 with a little GM sound board. In the 3U box is also a lpc17 based NG. The cores are connected to one another thru midi 3. The SEQ core runs the SEQ of course. I'm mostly a guitar player, so I want to control my gear with a FCB1010 floorboard. Amp channel switching, effect processors and stuff like that. The NG is a control center, it wraps NRPN and Sysex commands with simple note or cc messages, which the floorboard can handle. That's why I also asked you about the midi clock in NG1.030_pre2 which- shame on me- I still haven't tested for you. The NG has only midi in/out & USB plus an SD card for configs. There is no room on the frontpanel for an LCD or leds for visual feedback. It would be great if I could make the NG send a sysex to the SEQ and that it would show a temporary message on the LCD of the SEQ what the NG is doing.. Best regards!
  2. Hello, I was browsing the SEQ v4 firmware and in seq_midi_sysex.c I found references to REMOTE_CMD_LCD, which is apparently for sending strings to the SEQ v4 LCD? I could not deduct however, if i can send such strings through a sysex command - which would suit my setup quite a bit.. Does such a feature exist? Thank you
  3. Great find! Profusion has also the dream chips on evaluation boards. Overview and Price info here: http://www.profusionplc.com/pro/gex/prodGen.html?prdtyp=Evaluation%20boards
  4. Sold! One new happy MB6582 owner :phone: :phone:
  5. I was doin this anyway.. allpatches.syx.zip
  6. We'll see. Price info should be free.
  7. Yes the boardz need warez. I 've asked them for price info.
  8. They have example applications and evaluation /development boards http://dream.fr/pdf/Serie3000/Boards_Datasheets/3703FX-EK.pdf I wanted to take a closer look too, especially at the guitar amp stuff with the 3703 or the 3416. But I also dreamed away building a midibox controlled mixer with the 3816. I have toyed around with one of their GM sound board chips, see Most of the controlling could be implemented with MBNG I think.
  9. Check http://dream.fr/ they have DSP IC's, including FX processors. Why not take a look?
  10. I use a hard plastic modular 3u rack mount case from my local electronics store and a ponoko front plate too. The case needed a little bit of dremeling, but it is a perfect fit now.
  11. A small demo on youtube. The boardie even works with arduino.
  12. Why bother with etching? Check Smash Tv's website and especially the Low Value Order pages. Great PCB's, fast delivery! http://www.midibox-shop.com/buy_lvo.html Just make sure each parcel is below 30 USD // 22 EUR..
  13. I've got one for sale.
  14. Pm'd him, thank you!
  15. Hello, Studio & budget requirements change and a 8-SID MB6582 in perfect working order is just far too sexy for me! This awesome device -hand built in NL - is for sale 'as is' for an asking price of €750, if that is fair. Just PM me your offer if you're interested. More pics and specs available upon request! Specs: Pactec case and alu frontplate CS, base PCB and PICs directly from Tim Parts from Reichelt and Mouser Red LED's and a red LCD from China Vintage style knobs, two slightly off center Output jacks functionally compatible with Neutrix but somewhat higher SIDs: 4 x 8580R5 (of which 2 from AndroSid and 2 harvested; datecodes 4591 25; 4391 25; 4389 25; 1788 25) SIDs: 2x 6851 (2085S; 3484), 1x 6581R3 (4785) and 1x 6581R4AR (1490 14) Comes with a C64 power brick Back plate currently in cardboard, comes with 2 black formulor 3mm back plates (will need lower output jacks) No input jacks, feedback pots or D25.
  16. Hello guys, thanks for your help. It's good to have a list of stores with decently priced LCD's in Europe. Some want €50 or more, that's crazy. I ordered two from Voti, green / yellow, which have lower energy consumption and fit the color of other LCDs in my rack. My SEQ is now coming together rapidly. I found a modular hard plastic 19" casing at a local store in The Hague, got a front plate from fomulor. It has an and an extra core running NG. this adds midi in and out of course and will (after proper configuration) provide extra remoting for a FCB1010 floorboard. Pics & tunes will follow!
  17. I sold my c64 remains on a lcal auction sites- made somebody happy!
  18. Hi! I found decently priced lcd's at voti. They're usually very quick with delivery.
  19. Hello, Does somebody nearby NL have a spare blue backlit 40x2 LCD (seq size) (e.g. from satistronics) to sell or trade? I have soldered DIN's, a red backlit 20x4 LCD (mb6582 size), stabilized 10 watt 5v psu's, formulor seq v4l front plates (and more misc stuff) in return or plain cash. I try first locally before ordering the slow boat from China!
  20. Now building a wilba seq v4 with onboard synth

You'll enjoy it for sure :)

  21. There are some more soundclips of the little synth board out there, tunes from famous video games. http://www.wavetable.nl/files/comparison/games/Descent/Intro/Descent%20-%20Intro%20%5BDreamblaster%20Synth%20S1%5D.mp3 http://www.wavetable.nl/files/comparison/games/Doom/E1M1/Doom%20-%20E1M1%20%5BDreamblaster%20Synth%20S1%5D.mp3 Or check them all out at http://www.wavetable.nl/?cat=4 On a stabilised 5V PSU, it operates with really low noise, under -96dB. Once my SEQ CS is ready (waiting for a formulor package) i'll make a real tune with it!
  22. I think the sounds are in ROM. But it has two 128-sound banks, reverb/delay chorus/flanger, 4 band EQ and a surround effect. So there is lots to toy with, I heard the EQ is great. It's all under NRPN, so it's programmable. I ll dig thru the midi impl, see what it can do. It's a small Belgian company, so a ten piece bulk order might make them happy.
  23. Soooo. I found an envelope in my mailbox today with this little cutie. That's amazingly rapid delivery, even though Belgium is not far. It is very compact, only 4x4 cm! Here's a pic next to my dirty keyboard! Couldn't resist and ABC'ed the Dreamy soundboard with some other gear. I just threw a standard midi file at it, recorded it in Cubase 7.5 with no mixing, effects, compressors or fiddling whatsoever (44kHz100, 16 bit). The midi file is the (in)famous Dragostea Din Tei... Its contestants are the GM basic sound set of Halion Sonic SE of the Musikmesse Award Winning Cubase and the legendary vintage unobtainium-chipset Yamaha DB50XG. Halion Sonic was the least convincing to my ears: a bit muffled dull sound, like a blanket on my speakers. The DB50XG is still a great piece of gear with a well balanced, transparent but slightly classical overall sound. This tiny little Belgian gem stands the test! Not bad at all!! It is punchy and sparky, with a definite modern 'electro' presence to it. Comparing to the DB50XG, I would tweak the mix or the EQ settings a bit to soften the hihat and the edge of the synth bass. But at only 30 euros its a steal and it is plug and play onto the j4b of your lpc17 midibox! Verdict: Cool little widget to spice up your MB-SEQ, MB-NG, MIDIO128 or any box you like. I'll definitely keep working with it and do a midi implementation in NGC. Here are the mixdowns, so you can hear them yourselves! DB50XG_mixdown_04.mp3Dream_mixdown_01.mp3HSSE_mixdown-01.mp3
  24. Sounds like midio128 or midibox ng with a DOUT and possibly relays. A guy named Flo built something like that, you will find it in the wiki under user projects. Klingt wie midio128 oder midibox ng mit einem DOUT und möglicherweise Relais. Ein Mann namens Flo hat gebaut so etwas, Sie werden es im Wiki unter Benutzerprojekte finden.
