Right, from good to un-uasble... :'( I have a prob where after say 5mins after powering up the box the LCD flips out trying to keep up with multiple params that start flipping out and change values all over the place...:/ what's up with this? Dan
-
But where does all the duty free go? ;D Nice work man!! Dan

T... Just tied the new b version. Without any editing and just syx'ing the rlsd file, my encoders are not working as they did as with the default syx file from the rls proir. Now the nonswitched type only change values when u turn the pot to the right, and the switched type only work when turned to the left :/ Is this a result of the new code or could i just swap the connections on the encoders - seems weird they work fine with normal 1.5 tho :??? best... Dan * Just changed the mode of the encoders back to normal DETENTED and they are behaving again :) Oh yeah, this other prob I have is that after power-up, a few mins later the SID sparks out and jumps from param to param and flicks values all over the place :/ the lcd goes crazy trying to keep up with it all... Could this be a power issue?

Hey... After reading about the 'Nomical Project' :P for the control surface of his DB50XG I got thinking if the same could be done for the Yam PLG150AN/DX dsp cards... What I was thinking was to use the Kenton Plugin station to handle the audio i/o (or a homebru job if it's easy enough) and then a MIOS based control surface to handle the GUI and control surface... So for instance you could have both a AN and DX card in the plugin station and be able to control them both with a simple syx msg* :)... I'm assuming I could use the SID f/w or perhaps even Nomical's DB50XG control code for the adaption to handle this - right? On another note, could MIOS do anything to an old Casio HT-3000? :D T??? Peesh... Dan // * I guess an internal eeprom would take care of that tho :)

:P ::) ;D Must of been ye, should of checked that port for the LC wudda been updated when logic loaded the usb drivers for the first time :P So, we are 100% good to go now :D Nice1 Dan

Hey T... It's just MIDI Out 1 that is affected Out 2 outputs midi fine... The sysex msg i typed before is what comes out of midi out 1 when it should be ie, transmitting note events from a logic seq track(which transmit fine on out2) but instead i just get that sysex msg... Dan
-
Okay, all still goin good - cept 1 minor snag... MIDI Out 1 is not transmitting any midi data when it should be except for this msg: -003: F0 00 00 -002: F0 66 10 -001: F0 13 00 000: F0 F7 00 All other i/o's are working fine tho :) Best... Dan

Hey Smash... Yeah, I used pnp blue, However the laser i put em thru is not that great (laserjet 4) - so the tracks are never that clean, but at least it's summin to work with...:P Best Dan
-
okay - tracked down the prob... a track hadnt come out in the etching process which ties one of the eeprom pins to ground :P so i blotched in a blob of solder and low and behold the eeprom is behaving now :) yee-haaa midi i/o solved...again...for now...agin :D Nice... Dan

okay, Great! Best... Dan

Hey T... Ye I followed all the steps as stated in the txt file and tried the file u mentioned but I'm still getting nothing :/ dunno if the eeprom or usb chip is knackered, i've search tracks and all look good... The ez-usb control panel just hangs when i try an upload the file... Cheers... Dan
-
Hey Smash... Nah, never rebooted - and a reboot never sorted it either :/ Dan
-
Hmmmmm, that didnt last too long...just unplugged the module to get it boxed etc, plugged it back in and nothing :/ wasnt recognised :( even loading the firmware as I did before didnt cure it.... Ah well, it'd wudnt be right it working first time :p Dan
-
:P Loverly traces Smash!! BTW. I think it's possible to change the names of any ports (sound/midi) via regedit. just search the name as it stands and modify the binary data...just done a clean install so I aint gonna get dirty in the reg just yet tho :) Dan

Hey T... Is the to-com functioning in this f/w rls? I tried changin in the menu but the line on the lcd just fills with a row of arrows instead??? Reburing the f/w and a new PIC still gave the same results... Peesh Dan

Hey... I made the usb module and to my surprise when I plugged in the usb cable XP recognised it as the cypress usb and I then installed then drivers... Loaded EZ-USB control panel and followed the instructions in the txt file - I got the 000F msgs as described. However, on completing the eeprom upload and closing ez-usb cp, then unpluggin and pluggin back in the usb cable nothing else happened :/ XP didnt recognise nething new... Any ideas? Dan BTW: I used 24ohm inpace of the 20ohm resistors - this okay *********************** HOLD THE PHONE!! :D Well, i just hit pot luck here... Uninstalled the cypress driver frm the 1.1 rls, installed the drv from the V1 rls, and just hit eeprom and opened the mbhp_usb.HEX file...XP rcognised a new USB devices instantly!! I checked midi-ox and I have 2 new ports labelled as USB Audio Device 1 and USB Audio Device 2!! :) MIDI i/o solved...for now :P Rspx to the TK and Smash for this lil puppy!! Nice... Dan

indeed, fantastic! :) Where did u get this laser cut, and how much was it? Was it flat prior to cutting and bent afterwards? Best... Dan

T... I can't seem to post any new topics in the other forums - the forum has been playing alot lately - just like my midiboxes :p... So, as I cant post new threads my prob with my MB64Seq101 will go here. I can't seem to able to enable the to-com option in the menu settings - the line just fills with arrows??? when i try and change the setting. Is this a bug with the f/w? Best Dan

Hey Guys... Yeah, same as LO, i used an outside pin for ground - noticed no dif with the middle one used... T, I've notcied sometimes the LC hangs for a good few seconds but will come back into action afterwards - y is this? Again, is it hardware/software/firmware? Also, sometimes a fader will jump right to the max level...abd is it normal for when u exit logic, that all the faders shoot downwards to the bottom and the screen then goes messy? Best... Dan

::) ;D ::) Cancel that, all seems good :)...! Went back to the 16Fs for the slaves, and did a bit of twiddling - we now have 4 singin 6581's!! :) Right, I really need to make some tunes now :P Peace! Dan
-
what is the basic mios file for the 18F slave SIDs? I changed the slaves all to 18F's thinking it'd cure the prob and it did for a while - now there's no sound out of any of them...:/
-
Hey Steve... How did u wire the encoders? - I found it didnt seem to matter which pin was selected for ground - i guess i was wrong then... Ta... Dan
-
:) Yes, tha extra line worked :) Right, so I have a MBLC finally! But guess what there are a few niggles - well, there was bound to be!! :P Just wanna clear up this one first - T, as u know i got the same glcd as urself...in ur pics u've got borders on the display, I dont have these and also I've notcied part of the screen go blank sometimes and print the odd random character...:/ is this more that likey a connection issue? Ah... and this one too...:) Encoders (switched ones from Ian) these are taking a bit of gettin used to :/ the response of them doesnt seem to be that good (I did remove the detent) they take a good few full 360 turns to get from 0-127 - is this normal with enocoders??? can i do anything in mios to make them more responsive - like that speedset function?. or the one u mentioned where the quicker u turn the bigger the param change...or summin :P Rspx... Dan
-
Hey T... Okay, latest so far is I got a VIC in as I thought I could use the psu like ya said and I also needed a new housing, however - the psu is different to the one used with the C64. It's just a 2prong 9v 3amp :/. Anyway, it's sorted for now :) 1.5 is runnin v nice, but for some reason SID3 wont sound :/. The slaves are all 16Fs and I've checked SID3 with the sid test and got the chord so it works, but not when part of the CS setup... I've also notcied that when changin the cutoff and res paramters with the encoders, although the param changes fine on the lcd, the actual sound output doesnt :/?... Also, with the encoders (using the ones from Ian) how can i get this speed-up mode u've been talking of - where the faster u turn the bigger the sweep is... Best... Dan

;D http://www.panasonic.com/industrial/components/pdf/007_ev1113_evqb_dne.pdf They look good...!! I think...:) * Just noticed they are only 15 pulse and are pcb mount - still a good deal eh...
