Just an idea... It may be possible to dissessemble and remove the ratchet on some detented encoders for non-detented operation... Best... Dan

That right xcen... From the walkthrough: Nice... Dan

Yes, check the info on the site - all there, a long with a MB64 walkthrough that gives info on connecting the dc socket/switch/power led etc... Best...

Hey Guys... Sound's interesting...! ;) I had a similar idea a while bak, but minus the sblive ;). Just like a 8 (or 16 ;p) chan AD box with 1/2x ADAT SMUX outputs.. Got stuck on the clock sh*t tho, any ideas? Peace... Dan

Hey... Fine :) Yep, the 2 by the side of the SID are ur 470's*. Then the other 2 1uF caps as written in the parts list... Refer to the SID schematic for the deats... Best... Dan * 470 for 6581, 6n8 for 8580

Great work smash!! ;D BTW, how did u do the 3D core module pic - the one that lists info as u scroll over...looks great :) Nice... Dan

Hey Guys... LOL, i was gonna say the day aint over yet - but it had...still worked too ;) For me personally Pilo - YES!, they seem to be workin fine now goin by the calibration app. Also, as Smash say's they feel great! You Betcha! Logic is what all these escapedes are for!! ;) Peace... Dan

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :o :o :o :o :o From hate to love, these pana's are excellent!!! No jitter, No clangs, No LCD dropout, No noise - just perfect synced motofaders!!!!!!! yeeeeeoowwww!!! LC back on track ;) Fikked no more.... Dan

::) Think i may of been a clown and got the wiper and 0v pins mixed up on the fader....what a charlie! Changin them now - will report... Soz for the drama....! Peace...

Hey Smash... I have the diodes placed as T had done so as in this pic from the MF page: However, looking at the gif pic of the pcb layout: The diodes are placed differently... Best... Dan

Nope, I think the faders are bolloxed :/... When using the 8x MF driver app, the change from 0-127 happens over a distance of like 2cm at the bottom of the fader, then when u have more than 1 fader at 0, the lcd loses power... fikked.... Dan

Hey Steve... Thanks for clearing that all up :) I'll try some more configs, but it dont look good at this point in time :/ Only a few of the faders move at the same time as MF#1, and as soon as i move it down to low value alll the caos still happens :/... U know that the 12V 2A supply is to power the whole midibox right, not just the MF module? Ta... Dan

Hi... K, so I got my LC case drilled, filled and lazertraned. Started adding the parts to it, and then test to make sure all modules and components are workin... First up was connecting the 8 MF's and run the calibration app - which brings me to my first q. What exactly is the ap spose to do? Far as I can tell u move the first fader and the other 7 are spose to move in sync...as there was no fader movement when moving any other fader other than #1. At least all the faders moved anway :) they wernt in sync howver, and other moved quicker/slower than others. One worrying thing was when i moved the MF#1 to 0 all the faders would shoot downwards and make a sound like a car engine being revved when in neutral :/, then the GLCD would dim before going off completely (only lighting up again when i moved MF#1 up to higher level other the 0.... :o. Is this a psu issue? atm i made up a 12V 2A supply...should i get a 15V 2A suppy instead?... Cheers... Dan

Hey All... Found a place in AU that has some 40 x 2 displays goin for $25AU - which is roughly a tenner in the UK ;)...They ship to most places it seems... http://www.oatleyelectronics.com/displays.html I got 2 of em....:) Peace... Dan
-
Steve... Dont fret! I was asking the same q's around 400 posts ago ;p... Best place I've found so far (here in the UK) is Rapid Electronics - good value and they stock everything required... Failing that, order from Reicfelt - i have a cpl of times. It's much cheaper, very fast (& cheap) shipping rates and a freindly service. Just email to export@... And you right about the farnel site - terrible navigation, I gave up on em... best... Dan

1 will do... 1 x AIN = 32 analog inputs (pot/fader same thing) Best.. Dan

;D Rollin! My drill bits have been in overdrive last cpl o days :)

I'm in north london Steve, and yes Germany is def the place for 2nd hand C64's - all but 1 came from there for absolute peanuts :) Nice

London, and shock-horror, a very sunny one today too :)

Hey T Thanks for clearing that up - i'm sure it'll all become clear when the LC is made and i'm free to sysex at will for testing etc :) Just my eagerness and also the fact that I just drilled out the LC panel made me get in a pickle worrying about including extra buttons and such for all this GPC/layer stuff :) You dont need to apologise for nefin mate - I just thought the LC was complete already (hence already upto v1.3), surely u cant have even more feature planned??? ;D Peace...
-
Hey steve... Ye, it was metal inside - dont know what, but i imagin steel... BTW: i gave up on these encoders - too much time, hassle and i didnt have enough room in my LC box to include them - besides, the deal Ian got for those encoders was too good to miss :) Best of luck tho... Dan

'cuse my ignorance but, what is all this encoder rate settings actually do? as in a 'real-world' situation...why would they be great for gpc mode as Sly said? I havnt used any encoders yet, so no doubt it'll all start to click when i get them runnin... Also, I've notcied that v1.3 of the LC emu has extra code for this GPC function. I thought the layer function is just another name for gpc, but that code is still there too??? I dont geddit, is it just like a 3rd layer then? Is there any info on the layer/GPC functions on the site anywhere? Confused Dan
