T... Just seen this new pdf and i'm a lil concered, i thought your able to place the meterbar LEDs anywhere on the dout chain - not just after the vpot rings... My design has the meterleds rings on a sep core, which is also used for the forthcoming MTC digits aswell as a single pot for the maser fader...is this still okay?, as i thought it was from a q i posted a while bak...have i got my wires mixed up - so to speak...or is just an example setup uve posted? Best... Dan

yes, very nice chriss - i should take a leaf outta ur book :) Dan

Looks like it wont matter neway till i can some midi output happening...:( are there ne special notes on using the LC emu with to-comm? I need long holiday after all this :) Peace Dan

Hey Ian.... 2 things... In the PS of the first msg i already said I tried mpasmwin - and had no luck!!, also this is for the LC - not SID CS.... Thanks tho, the enocoder settings u say may help that part of the crisis - but right now I have a box made but cant cant get any o/s on the peice of junk!! gone... Dan

Arrrrghhhh!!! Finally finished the soldering epic of my LC box and have just spent the last 3 hours customising the LC mios files for my setup in mplab, only to be giving this when trying to build the hex file: Executing: "C:\Program Files\MPLAB IDE\MCHIP_Tools\mpasmwin.exe" /q /p18F452 "main.asm" /l"main.lst" /e"main.err" Error[113]  C:\MBLC_OS-SETUP\USER_VECTORS.INC 45 : Symbol not previously defined (USER_LCD_Init) Error[113]  C:\MBLC_OS-SETUP\USER_VECTORS.INC 46 : Symbol not previously defined (USER_LCD_Clear) Error[113]  C:\MBLC_OS-SETUP\USER_VECTORS.INC 47 : Symbol not previously defined (USER_LCD_CursorSet) Error[113]  C:\MBLC_OS-SETUP\USER_VECTORS.INC 48 : Symbol not previously defined (USER_LCD_PrintChar) Skipping link step.  Not all sources built successfully. BUILD FAILED wtf? I havn't even opened/edited user_vectos.inc... HELP!!! Dan BTW: I get the same even when i try building the main.asm file straight from the zip - no files edited at all... PS: Has NE1 been able to build a hex file  with the 1.3 LC rls??? I think there summin wrong with it...or isit MPLAB it's self? I've also tried the win gui version where u just load the main.asm file - again no joy, even when no editing is done to ANY of the files... Nightmare!! NB: Are the test progs spose to send out MIDI data too? atm I can send to the box via midi-ox, but when i run a test prog like, ie: ain64_din128_dout128_v1_3, everything functions as it should on the box itself but i cant see any midi data being transmitted??? Is it spose to like the 16F test progs did? I'm using to-comm remeber via he LTC module... NB2: with the switched encoeders i got from Ian, it takes many turns to get from 0-127 - is this norm? havnt used endless rotaries b4... NB3: so many more q's, but i just want to able to get the LC prog built (in mplab) and sent first,  and have logic see it as a LC - atm, i feel very dejected by the whole thing :( cos even if i syx the main.hex that comes in the logic zip (non-customised version), the lcd reads logic emulation ready and has the smpte digits, nothing else happens - logic cant see it, and nothing happens when i press ne buttons or move faders or nethin! :( hmm, just thought - MIDI output must be workin tho right? - otherwise i wudnt have been able to upload mios in the first place correct?

steve... surely u gotta nuff room for irc? it's only a tiny lil app... Get it here: http://www.mirc.com/irc.html Once installed, goto File > Options. The Connect page opens, click on the Add button. For description type in ie: MIDIbox. IRC Server is the 64.246.18.104, then port 7182. Then click add. Job done... Now connect to this server, once it connects type: /join midibox in the server window (/ is meant to be there) Now you should be there! Peace...

Hey T... On the powerfix pdf you've done, I'm assuming thats for the older C64 psu ye?? Can the 8580's be used with the 6581 psu too or is the 8580 wallplug good to be used too (with the 8580s o course)? Reason i ask is cos you've said you had both the 6581's and 8580's working - are you using them with they're own wallplugs, but with the fix as in your pdf? One more thing, are u still running with the 6n8 caps on the 8580's or have you found another value? Great work! Dan
-
Hey T... Thanks for clearing that up... I've just won myself another C64 and C64II - with they're wallplugs!! so I'll prolly be doin a new an improved SID CS, i rushed this box along too much :) Best... Dan

Hey... Right, been having issues (to say the least) with my quad SID. Manily the psu (not the c64 one), which i think has been sorted... Now the other probs... I have 4 sep outs aswell a group stereo out, so to check each SID was functioning I loading the latest jsynth and sent patches to each SID (each time changing the device ID chan to suit the selected SID), the patches sent but only after like 20secs, somtimes the sound would also get stuck and continue to play, then to cap it off i'd hear no sound of that SID when playing notes, but if i switched link on, then i could hear sound from that SID output...not the patch i sent tho... If i've fikked the IDs or summin is there anyway I can burn the 16F slaves with the ID set in the box or summin like with the 18Fs in ICProg? Are there any simple test to come like with the 16F sid test that'll test output of all 4 SIDs in the CS unit? It'd make troubleshooting alot more easier, this has been a nightmare and now my case is broken from all the messin about :/ and i havnt got eny encoders yet :( Best... Dan

heheh :) soz pay...

Nat... Cpl of things... 1. the buttons above/below the LCD seem to close - remeber LCDs have a backpcb (or whatever) that has the 4 mounting holes in each corner. Also, why have buttons above the LCD like that neway? Ur gonna be covering up the screen with ur hand everytime u reach for them...i'd put 8 either side, u got the room...:) 2. are u keeping to a 2.54mm grid size in shaffer? This way - if ur breadboarding ur pot/led/button controls it'll ensure everything will line up... if ur using standard 2.54mm pitch breadbrd o course ;) Good luck!! Dan

Dunno if it;s just me, but if say 4 or more ppl are on the forum at the same time - anyone else noting long load times when viewing posts the trying to get the topics, especially the recent posts page - takes minutes to loads sumtimes... Just wondering if it's down to the recent server move, it wasnt like this before... Best... Dan

Hey Stryd... FYI, datasheets for the AL1101(ADC) and AL1401(ADAT encoder) chips...: http://notapplicable.co.uk/mbhp/al1101.pdf http://notapplicable.co.uk/mbhp/al1401.pdf The Cirrus site has info's too... I originally just thought of an ext 8/16 chan a/d box with smux capability - but know i'm wondering if we could use multiple hacked live's in say an ol pc runnin a linux hd recording program, like http://ardour.sourceforge.net/ or summin... who knows....??? It's all to much to keep up wiv!! ;)

will the frequency be stuck at 48khz tho still, as I thought it was with these cards? Could we go from the cirrus a/d straight into an alesis optogen for adat then ye - using the clock source from the 10k1? Nice if so :) Keep us posted Pilo!!
