  1. Heyhey... Here's my finished MB64Seq - designed especially for the new firmware: I'm using a diff LCD to the one sized up for the panel (which I killed ;p) and will havta wait for a replacement... Features 10 internal banks for access to 1280 patterns ;) Peace... Dan
  2. solved ;)
  3. Hey... Finished the box and all was fine, but after a few hrs playing I started gettin midi timeout msgs on the LCD and the box started sending out these midi messages: 93 00 00 Ch04 Note Off nn:000 (always the same value) Does that narrow down the prob to a specific connection I should be looking at...? Best Dan
  4. prob solved - think i still killed the lcd tho :/ ah well, the price you pay for not knowing what ur doin ;p... peace Dan
  5. Hey... More or lessed finished a MB64Seq box and all was working fine until I wired in (as described in the MB64 walkthrough) the power switch, LED and fuse(800mA slowblow) - the LCD went blank and starting going crazy with pixels then went totally blank :(. I checked volatge points and were it was +5v before it was now 5.6+ (even reachin 6-7V :(). However when i used the same wallplug wired direct to a DC socket then to the core (as when testing) the voltage levels was fine again..5V on the dot everywhere. The LCD didnt display any info tho (backlit still workin) :( so I think I may of cooked it ??? as hooking up another LCD displayed everything fine.... So I don't geddit - I've used the power switch/led/fuse combo in the exact same config on 3 previous boxes and all was fine with them but not with this one...any ideas ppl... Best... Dan
  6. yup, indeed another belter addition TK!! ;)) Nice Dan Ps, hope u had a decent hol
  7. u could do, just have to swap the pic with a MB64 f/w as and when... Best Dan
  8. Hey T... Here's a pic of the back of the re-furbished C64 case so far... I've gone for stereo in/out on 1/4" jacks, but I was also wondering if i could also use 4 mini-jack mono sockets for the individual SID mono outs - these fit in nicely in the space as shown ;). You say either 4 outs OR one stereo out, but I'm guessing the config shown is doable ye? I'd just just cable twice on the outputs... Peace... Dan

    Monster SID

I think the 6582A is the early 8580 version...they are the same i beleive. Best Dan
  10. looks like i gotta get busy with me dremel again - I feel midibox #4 loomin :-* ;D Dan
  11. Hey.. Lo, can I ask - what caps did you use for the filter part of the SID using the 8580s? The 6n8 ones as suggested? I tried these but had no joy... Nice Dan
  12. Hey... I got in touch with them and received the datasheets a few hrs later... i've put them here: http://www.notapplicable.co.uk/mbhp/sdb161_1.pdf http://www.notapplicable.co.uk/mbhp/sdb161_2.pdf http://www.notapplicable.co.uk/mbhp/sdb161_3.pdf From what I can make out the extra pins are indeed for the inbuilt switch ;). It is the 5bit version with 32 5bit electrical positions and 32 5bit mechanical detents... Are these good, they're a bargin if so... Peace Dan
  13. Hi... okay, i tracked down the problem - for some reason the LED for the midi out status will now only work if i bypass the 470ohm resistor, tho very occasionally it'd flicker and/or work a bit when connected as normal after the resistor - weird??? No matter tho, i just have brighter midi out LED is all... Best Dan
  14. Hi... How exactly are these implemented with reguler pots, i've only heard Thorsten talk of them and see a checkbox of them in the virtual midibox app... This makes them need midi feedback like motorfaders ye? Ta Dan

    MIDIbox64SEQ Beta

Hey T... Since my MB64 has been completed, the MB32 pot box I made a while back wasnt gettin used as much, so I thought it'd be ideal to run as a sequencer with the MB64seq f/w. I successfully burnt the 0.91 f/w version (latest one???) and have had much joy since ;). The question is - is there any way to edit an ini config file to setup the box like with the mbhp boxes. Because i only have 32 pots on this box (4x8 rows) and i'd like each 8 pot row acting as a single track, rather than as it is now - 2 rows (16pots) = 1 track, meaning i can only get at 2 tracks. Apart from that, this box is ideal as it has the 16 buttons on the front and the other 8 for menu and special functions...a real nice lil seq ;) On another tip, the MIDI out LED on the LTC board has stopped working - midi output is fine tho, I know it's prolly a connection somewhere but it all looks good - what are the specific track(s) i should be concentrating on to narrow the problem down? Best Dan
  16. Hey T... okay, so the ideal setup for the control surface is 4 sep outs (mono jack sockets). Would you also have 4 sep inputs then aswell ??? The possible options have confused me a lil :P... I thought just stereo in and stereo out on sep L and R channels would be the standard. If it's goin to have incompatibilty issues with the control sirface firmware i'll do it to ur recommendations...:) Cheers Dan
  17. Hey... I'm workin on the refurbishment of an old C64 case to house the upcoming SID control surface. I've been able to reuse the precut holes on the back to house the bits I need - midi/fuse/dc socket, but I'm wondering what to do for audio i/o - will stereo out (L+R outputs) be okay (i'll have 4 SIDs under the bonnet;p) what about for audio input - does that always remain a single mono in? or would a stereo input be possible now too? Best Dan
  18. Hey Steve... I'm a logic head, and for me there is no other...;) I will say - logic is what you make of it and can be hard to get to grips with unless you put the time and effort in learning it's tricks and ways of doing things. I spent a good few months just learning the environment - but once sussed, your musical workflow will only increase...;p I'm runnin my MB64 with this enviroment: http://www.revolver.co.nz/fadermapper/ It's a major peice of work - again if your not comfortable in the enviro it could be a tad daunting on first opening but it's features are awesome - has made me hold back on making the MBLC box ;p I wont go to all the details here, as it's feature list can be read about on the link - theres also a demo u can get... Best Dan
  19. wow ;D what a console, a monster indeed!! Axel - i don't spose u've got the graphics of the lines/levels by the faders you've done handy? or have u just done them freestyle? fantastic work!! Best Dan
  20. Hey TK... ye, i assumed MIOS would do it (what can't it do is what i'd like to know :P), i guess the lcd issue i have could also be configured better under MIOS, however, to account for the extra 4 bars on the end of each line i just added a few dashes so the the 2 additional lines would show correctly ;)... Besides, this MB64 is workin fantastic atm - just got it going on the com port too (only 1 midi i/o here :() and i dont wanna get my hands dirty with MIOS right now as I dont quite get the setting up of it all yet...as i understand it, apart from the applications u provide - users will haveta get they're hand dirty and write all those sep files for each module etc with the coding functions you've put together - looks daunting :(, but nice...;)... Best Dan
  21. I have 10 internal banksticks accessible via a 12 pos rotary switch - works great (thanks lemonhorse!). I also have 16 buttons setup to access the 16 individual banks of everystick, so it works really fast ;) check the mb64sfb txt file for the strings to assign the buttons... [BUTTONS] # Special Functions assigned to the first 16 buttons: # FF 04 0n (n = Bank Number) # Does: Save Pot Positions in current Bank, # Jump to Bank n # Restore Pot Positions from new Bank # These button assignments are especially usefull if MIDIbox is in Snap # Mode (soft-takeover), if Motorfaders are connected or if you are # using the sequencer (select patterns) 1 = FF 04 00 @OnOff 2 = FF 04 01 @OnOff 3 = FF 04 02 @OnOff 4 = FF 04 03 @OnOff 5 = FF 04 04 @OnOff 6 = FF 04 05 @OnOff 7 = FF 04 06 @OnOff 8 = FF 04 07 @OnOff 9 = FF 04 08 @OnOff 10 = FF 04 09 @OnOff 11 = FF 04 0A @OnOff 12 = FF 04 0B @OnOff 13 = FF 04 0C @OnOff 14 = FF 04 0D @OnOff 15 = FF 04 0E @OnOff 16 = FF 04 0F @OnOff Best Dan
  22. ;D Nice, just been doin it all via ini file/midi-ox till now... My pots now have names! Great....!! Cudnt find out how to name the buttons tho, is it only if they are set to Program change events naming is allowed? Thanks again... Dan

  24. How's this implemented then? So, for instance, I could turn a knob and itd read 'pan', another could read 'send 1' etc... Missed that one ??? :o best Dan
