Yeeeeeooowww;))) Can't wait to get the MB64seq runnin with this ;))) Nice... Dan

ah, i think i got it then... So, i need a core and then add the additional 6n138 as in the midimerger.pdf... Thanks... Dam

Hey T... I dont think i'm gettin my prob accross... When the GLCD is connected all the voltages get screwed up... I've a sep PIC with the GLCD code in the BSL... Dan

Hey Lo... Yeah, thats what i thought but alas no go :( it appears you can only select one port or the other - i tried installing a 2nd (diff serial drv) driver assigned to the port but still got an up-yours...:/ Dan

Hey T... The core can be used in the MIDI Merger project right? How is the MIDI in connected to J4? I tried to breadbrd a circuit as in midimerger.pdf but had no joy... How is the circuit powered? Via the midiline or does it need additional juice? Best... Dan

Hey Ian... Might have summin here: http://www.angelfire.com/geek/srlabs/ Best... Dan

IS there anyway you can utilise both com ports so your able to have a midibox on each of them? It seems you can only have one port enabled at a time here... Cheers... Dan

Has this got to a point were it's a doable project yet...? (think i emailed Kent a while ago) I really could do with one of these as I'm out of midi i/o now :/ I know it'll noly work as a monster merger until the new PICs have landed, but this is all i need it for currently anyhow... Nice... Dan

Hey T... Still no joy... :-/ I had it wired exactly as described in ur pdf and the additional 10k pot connected as so. I've tried ur other suggestions but I still get the same result - an overall reduction in voltage accross the whole circuit. The points u mentions are coming up at like -0.186V :??? but then once the GLCD is removed it's all fine again - and working with the standard characted LCD... Mebbe this GLCD requires some sort of additional power circuit or summin? One thing, i'm testing without the A&K pins connected - that shouldnt matter tho should it? It's only for the backlit and works fine with no connection on regular cha LCDs... Best... Dan

Yes, didnt realise the BPM menu would contain that option - makes sense tho ;) Working perfectly now... Cheers Dan

Is there anyway to have the box triggered to play when pressing play in logic? At the moment I can start and stop logic via the buttons on the box - this is fine, but it causes the tempo to keep altering... Best... Dan

Well, I tried connecting this LCD to an 18F core and it was a no go - lowered all the voltage levels instead :??? I wired it in as shown in GLCD pdf/gif as the pinouts was more-or-less the same... Perhaps this LCD requires some additional components for the power or summin - as that T6963C did? Best... Dan

ah, i tested the LED rings on a 16F core...
-
Okay, so the midi time-out msg is gone but now I have a different prob... Sometimes when the seq is running and more than say 8> of the 16 trigger buttons are pressed the LCD will flip out and will show jittering params, also the rate that LEDs move accross seems to alter. It has also got to the point where the display just disappears :/... however, if the buttons are depressed it all seems to return to normal...weird.... Is this a voltage prob? Best Dan

Hey T... Great, it seems to be compatible then ;)... One thing - to test the LCD how should i connect it it to the 18F core module? Should i just follow the pinout of the GLCD as in mbhp_glcd_64240a.pdf? Some of the pins are slighty diff... Also, as this GLCD would go on a second core - would i also use this for the joystick/surround control addon? Makes sense i guess... Best... Dan Thanks again... Dan

Hey TK... I'm working on the encoders/led rings for the LC box - for the LED rings test f/w I just get the first 8 LEDs of all 8 rings lit, then the last 3 LEDs lighting up sequentially from one ring to the next... Is that correct? The description say's various patterns will be displayed... Best... Dan

Hey... I have a 128x64 display that uses the HD61202 and HD61202 controller IC's. I've had a look around and it seems that the 61202 is s/w compatible with the KS0108 so i'm thinking it wouldn't take much to implement it with MIOS. The aim is to use this display as a graphical representation of surround control for use in Logic. A joystick would control the surround settings - as described in this post: http://www.midibox.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=concepts;action=display;num=1039325767;start=0#0. So the questions are: 1. First off, is this display okay? (datasheets at end of post)... 2. Would it be possible to use it as a graphical representation of surround control? I see it as summin quite basic, like a cursor (controlled by the joystick) which u'd then just move about on screen and position accordinly...This would have to programmed I assume? 3. I'm guessing it would require a seperate core (would be used in my LC box) - is this where midibox link comes in? 4. I also remember TK talking about the 'layer functionality' of the MBLC - would that play a role in this config? Datasheet for Display: http://www.notapplicable.co.uk/mbhp/dg-12864.pdf Datasheets for HD61202/3: http://www.notapplicable.co.uk/mbhp/hd61202.pdf http://www.notapplicable.co.uk/mbhp/hd61203.pdf All the best... Hey Steve... I'm holding of on the LC for a bit - the design has changed somewhat and the MB64 i've recently done is working fine for me with a special enviro in logic ;) plus with the other midiboxes around I've no space for the monster LC i'm planning :p... Good luck on urs... Dan

Make sense? Best, Dan.

Hey Steve... That help? Best... Dan

make sure you leave enough room between the pots - you don't want to affect knobs beside the one actually turning cos ur fingers get in the way ;p also make sure you get the right one for ur type of pot - either d-shaped or spindle style... Best.. Dan
-
yes, my test voltages for the JDM were slighty off too and it's burnt pics fine - just follow the instructions to the T! and u should be good... Best Dan
-
not sure, i just used another core module that was already half stuffed ;p I'll check this faulty one more and see if it can rescued for a further application ;) as always - prolly a bad connection sumwhere, i think this may of been the same core module I was using when i posted a diff midi time-out post a while back... Best... Dan

Damn!! you don't hang about do ya :o Your fingers are gonna evolve to soldering iron tips at some point i swear! ;p Fantantic stuff, just keeps gettin better n better... Nice Dan

Hey TK That turned out nice then ;) Great stuff!! Best Dan
