  2. Timing of software sequencers against hardware sequencers Graphs show the difference in timing tightness/sloppiness or drift of software and hardware sequencers.
  3. The first problem I can think of is that all the pots and faders are likely to be logarythm taper and not linear taper. Log taper is used for audio volume controls, linear taper for MIDIbox controls. Still, at the very least the case, front panel, knobs (ie the actual knobs and not the pots), and maybe the power supply would be useful. If you were into heavy desoldering sessions you might be able to reuse some other loose components like LEDs, but it's a lot of work.
  4. Mount your LEDs somewhere convenient and run fibre optic cable to the buttons.
  5. If anyone wants it PM me with your real email address.
  6. /edit/ ok that didn't work, I'll try and add it to the wiki somehow. Link when I manage it. Meanwhile I can only suggest joining the yahoogroup and pulling the file yourself.
  7. I just joined the TR-707 yahoogroup, and they have the schems for the M-64C in their Files page.
  8. I gotta sleep sometime :D Anyway, on a more serious note, I've just joined the yahoo groups simmonsdrums and tr-707. The latter has some -very- interesting stuff in its file folder - M-64C schematic for instance. /edit/ there's some good schematics in the simmonsdrums group's folder. One of the members is working on a complete redraw of the (unreadable) original schematics, working from actual units. He's also piped up recently about cloning and modding of Simmons modules.
  9. What the? Synsonics drums must be like buses: you wait and wait and wait, and then two come along at once
  10. Hey stryd, the Speakjet Activity Center on that page looks useful - socket for optional microcontroller, hmmm
  11. There's a search function for these forums at the top of this page
  12. Oatley valve pre-amp /edit/ fixed link (duh) They run off DC too .... Meanwhile, I'm getting more and more warm to picking up those two leftover 2044s if you still have them whem I have some cash, and maybe the delays too. Mmmmm, SID with Prophet filters /fall down make homer simpson gargle
  13. VFDs or trackballs? I'm beginning to think these are going to be too expenisve for me this week, Damn rent! Damn food! Damn bills! There are MIDIboxen to be built!
  14. Oh lordy. There's a 606 now.
  15. No alas I passed on it. Budget is a bit tight this week :-( I might write to the winner and see if he's willing to scan it - he'll have to take it apart to fix it anyway.
  16. Thanks Rowan. Turns out he has got paypal after all, and he's quoting postage to au at 9 squid.
  17. No problem stryd, just tell me which ones you're after so we don't cross-bid.
  18. I just got a reply back from him saying he does. Hey, who here is bidding on what? We should probably try to avoid bidding against each other :). I'm bidding on the following item numbers, but I don't mind changing to a different equivalent item if I'm up against someone here ... Trackball 7610659116 VFD 4x20 7609789452 VFD 2x20 x2 7609787912
  19. Discovery Power Drum Machine $36
  20. Roland Space Echo emulator in your pocket :) :)
  21. I really like your way of prototyping the component layout. I'm totally going to steal that technique :)
  22. Here ya go, stryd :) :) - $2.98 pack of 4 from Dick Smith
  23. Ahahah, hey stryd, I haven't bid yet, but I've been seriously considering it. We really ought to co-ordinate our efforts man :) You're not bidding on the 505 as well are you? Are you thinking 8 track drum sequencer with that keyboard too?
  24. Depends how the front panel hardware is mounted. If they're all hardwired to a circuit board, you'll have to desolder them and remount them.
