  1. It's in the midi spec... If you're anything like me you've considered buying it and never shelled out ;) There's a rundown here: http://www.midi.org/about-midi/tuning.shtml boogs: The way it's implemented, is that each of the 12 notes of the octave, is remapped to a scale-correct note. ;; 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 Semitone ;; 1 b2 2 b3 3 4 b5 5 b6 6 b7 7 Minor Tone ;; 1 #1 2 #2 3 4 #4 5 #5 6 #6 7 Augmented Tone ;; 1..10 <------------------> SCALE_ENTRY 0, 2, 2, 4, 4, 5, 7, 7, 9, 9, 11, 11, "Major So in this case, the first tone (0) is mapped to the major 1st (0) (so it's not changed). The second tone (1) is mapped to the major 2nd (2) so it's shifted up a semitone. The third (2) is mapped to the major 2nd (not changed). The fourth (3) is mapped to the major 4th, so it goes up a semitone.... etc etc. If you are having trouble with it, I'm sure I still have the script for converting intervals to this format. HTH!

  4. I'm pretty sure sonar still does. They will if they want this guy's business ;) I wouldn't trust a PC to spit a solid clock if a pink fit, I always run hardware clock. It should be noted that I don't use VST(i). Groovy idea...but uhm...who uses MTC anyway? :)
  5. IIRC, there's a soldering guide for the core that says that the sockets should go on first, with the one exception being the resistor under the socket. I do it that way anyhow because the sockets are the one thing I won't overheat by accident ;) But yeh... do it that way and you won't risk soldering the socket and punching it down on an airwire ;)

  8. There are ladies here but they don't speak to us boys because we smell funny and have cooties. Regarding 'What the bleep...": that's another good example of an attempt at blending science and sprituality that mostly failed because the people running the show were only an expert in one field or the other. But I'll tell you this much - there are more errors in the vast majority of purely scientific documentaries, than you'll find in that one. The basic concept is hard to deny these days - to completely rule out any validity of either spirituality or science or the links between them, is clearly biased. I have an unusual perspective on these things having always had a scientifically inclined mindset (and training), and then being awoken in the second half of my life (so far) to somewhat more enlightening matters. I guess that some people will only experience one or the other, and of course that is what they will believe. It's easy to diss something that stands out so much, because it's so different. By comparison, you hardly notice the myriad errors in modern human science - because you're fed them from day 0 and drowning in them all day long for the rest of your life. Let the debate continue. I have Gods to talk with ;)
  9. Yes, but you need to have the PIC burned with the correct ID to recognise the nonstandard interface. See the ID calculator on smash's site (there's probably another somewhere?) Only if it has an RS232 input (9 pin serial like your COM ports)

  12. Doesn't exist. Don't blame arduino. USB sucks. </broken_record> Steal the PWM code from the MBSID. Don't use the DOUT pins cause it's likely that someone will want to use the DOUTs and TL's simultaneously. Check out the pin table on the wiki and figure out which is least likely to be required (motorfaders? SID?). Use C to prototype it and then optimise it in ASM. Be sure to post lots of pics and video :)
  13. No sweat man :) I thought I was extremely impatient? ;D The point of that PDF is that the unused inputs (spare AIN pins with no pots attached) should be grounded. If you don't do that, you get random input, which it sounds like you did...

Wicked to see your face - mine fits into the "don't supply evidence" basket ;) The skull is from the punisher comics I started working on a graffiti styled version of the idea too, and I've been sourcing environmentally friendly high quality t-shirts to do a run of them... later :) Edit: The keys teeth is my idea - the rest was stolen from Wilba ;D
  19. Microtuning should be supported by the synth, not the sequencer... But I'm sure you could make a simple custom app to send microtuning data to your synths as required :) Feel free to PDF up that book for us :D I'd prefer to use the correct names where possible - thanks for the info!

There are three reasons that came to mind right now, why you shouldn't crosspost: 1) You're less likely to get an answer because you're spread thin and because 2) You're making a mess which people don't like and if you're really unlucky 3) stryd_one has 5 pages of unread posts overnight, and you're three of them, so he will get cranky, and merge them together and you wind up with a big mess. See 1) and 2) ;D
