  1. .5ms shouldn't be too bad, but moogah would know :) http://www.burnit.co.uk/sdiy/index.php?page=4xd&subpage=kits for kit pricing. I can't guarantee the pricing of course, it's up to the creator if he even makes them Is there some kind of community online, for people who DIY digital synths and FX like this and miss parker and shifty's death synth etc?
  2. It's just a jump to the left... And a step to the riiiiight. Put your hands on your hips....
  3. Anyone else want one of these? Maybe there's enough of us around to warrant a small batch of PCB's made by the name....
  4. Rules are, it's word association. You post whatever the last post makes you think. I have run out of clichés in other languages now ;) Ich bin ein MIDIBoxen junkie. Viva la midibox! Carpe midiboxem! TK! TK! TK!!! OI! OI! OI!!!

    KIT's

Yeh... If you already have a PCB etching rig, and IF you never make any mistakes, then it's marginally cheaper... I think one of my knobs costs more than a smashtv core.
  6. Just a thought.... I'd bet that the PIC LFO and envelope could be ported to an IIC_MIDI type device for digital control, and you might be able to get more than one CV out of it with the pins that you could spare...
  7. :D I love when stuff works. You gave me the big hint when you said you heard 4 pings... That sounded real fishy. Thanks to Moebius for keeping #midibox warm for us, a live chat's really the best thing for troubleshooting. For everyone's future reference, it seems that the SpeakJet is not as fast as the PIC16 that drives it, so we need to insert a delay by using a number of call UART_Init_Delay before sending the signal to the SpeakJet to set the baud rate. I thought I should mention this in case the slow response is a problem that comes up again in future.
  8. Maybe not the most simple - those look like custom PCBs for the CS to me :) I like the way there's a kind of 'border' around the buttons! What kind of timber is the casing? it's a nice tone, is it some kind of American Oak?
  9. Hi Razmo, long time no see! I was talking about the v2 mod matrix recently, and how it would be great to have a 2x40 with a row of buttons under it in a 2U rack, maybe with the LED matrix and knobs... does it need to be 1RU? As you'd have noticed, Wilba's layout is divided up nicely into base and CS PCB's, so you could design a new CS PCB and attach to Wilba's base and you're set. You might want to mod the base for MBNet (CAN) and maybe the IIC modules could go...
  10. Hey Rio I'm curious... If you have a chance to try that new firmware out... Do you hear the 'sonar ping' sound before 'ready', with this new firmware? If so... Just one ping, or more, or only a partial ping?
  11. Thx for jumping in moogah :)
  12. hehehe you should read a little further down... If none of those are any good, there are others around Europe that are English sites that might help.
  13. Great stuff :) OK. Gimme! ;D I've been watching this and the PGA is on my bench waiting :)
  14. Somehow I get the feeling you guys aren't talking about home studio any more hehehehe Unfortunately I couldn't afford a 100 channel desk so there's 120 going to patchbays and a puny 32 going to the AD and the desk (I said 24 but I forgot the converters in the desk that make it 32). Some bright sunny day in the future I'll make the patchbays MIDI controlled and sell off the patch cables :) Uhhh is it the desk? ;)
  15. AC if you have MSN I'll be online for live support when you wake up, otherwise we could meet up on IRC or something..... Point is, I am on-call for work, so can't be for away from the PC all of the 3 day weekend, so I'll be here with 72 hours to spare to help you out. Unless a server explodes somewhere ;) Don't worry man, we'll get her working :) We should work from that point. If you can disconnect the midi cables, start it OK, then connect them up and it is all fine, then we need to find out why it fails to boot up with the cable connected, and why it succeeds in booting if the cable is connected and there is software running at the other end of the cable. That sure is weird.
  16. x0x style seq... Need hardware help (LONG post!) There's the thread, it's heavy reading and probably could do with being wikified. I'll put it on my todo list :)
  17. "Only" 64 channels? I'd go out on a limb and say that I'm nearly the only other person around here running more than 8 (24, BTW, 3 sets of ADAT) I really am curious to hear some of your tunes now mate :D That VAC has been around for awhile now so it might do the trick... I can't help but wonder about the stability of it but I am heavily biased against software so don't take it too seriously. I wonder if you could sacrifice 8 channels to use as hardware busses between the cards perhaps?
  18. Mercury Native $7500 You were saying?
  19. Yep, totally. It's a fair effort but doable. I think it'd certainly benefit from the SRAM extension.

You could mod the MB to send CC's I'm sure...
  21. Yeh...Good, really good....But way too costly.

MTE does it accept midi note-on messages for you?
  23. There'll be public alphas as soon as it can do that :) The vX is waiting for me t do some other things (seqv3 scales!) but I could hardcode a sequence into it to demonstrate polyrhythms if you like? Thanks! I'm tired of the same old music :)
  24. Hi aquira You can buy all the parts online and probably locally, and if smash cannot ship there, you can download board layouts and have them etched (or DIY). Being from Indo shouldn't be a problem, I order stuff that gets shipped from Hong Kong and Singapore and China, all the time, and you're closer than me :) Hope that helps!
  25. Welcome aboard! You might (will :)) find the answers in the wiki (hint... check the FAQ) and with the Search Engine :) Edit: At least... the answers to these questions... We'll be here for the rest :)
