  1. Why not just send it via MIDI CC's?
  2. Also, if you're using windows and like a nice GUI IDE, you might like to wait for 24 hours or so and use code:blocks with a template that I will publish shortly...
  3. If you swap the connections over (make the 1st display the 2nd one, and the 2nd one the 1st) which one fails?
  4. I like to think of myself as a bit of a drum synthesis fanatic, maybe I can help with the snares? Whats the problem? I thought I should say, I don't think too much attention should be paid to the architectures of old when designing a new synth... Although it's definitely a good thing to be able to replicate those classic sounds, I think it's even better to craft new ones entirely :)
  5. I hope so :) I plan to build a bunch of Midibox controlled synth and fx bits, I'll certainly be uploading source and schematics and boards for everything I do, so the drum/percussion-focussed stuff (which will be most of it) will go there :)
  6. You're not wrong... But then again I've heard worse at lots of gigs heheheh Hey how about adding to that list: SMPTE SPP MTC Multiple phase locked clocks (I can provide code for that from the vX) Higher MIDI clock rates (48, 96, etc) Multiple midi outs * I've got a Red Systems Voyager version 2 for sync to audio, highly recommended! They cost a shiatload because they're not made and rarely parted with unfortunately. There's a smaller single channel version called the Micro Sync that's a bit cheaper. I thought I'd visit their site to give you a link and I noticed that they're vamping the site up and all the old products are gone :( (including my beloved EleVAta) but thought this soon-to-be-released product might be of interest... http://www.redsound.com/products/soundbitemicro ...Looks like a micro sync with some FX for good measure ;)
  7. Yeh but how? Just LFO's and Envelopes? You could get 14-bit from (N)RPN's too but if it's for LFO's you could use the circuit on ucapps.de to generate CV and save yourself the trouble :) Oh yeh Smash, the buffers are built into the IC's I picked out :)
  8. ;D That is a classic! That should be your sig hehehehe
  9. Ahh troubleshooting I like that :) Good stuff, mate! Have you got a datasheet for this thing? It could be helpful. So after this, everything is fine until you power down ? Obviously I can't see that from here but it's possible... That might be a sign that the 4 bit addressing isn't working right. Have you seen the page on the wiki about that? I'm sure I remember seeing one... I doubt that it'd have any effect, but I could be wrong.
  10. Hehehe you're stuck in an analog frame of mind... It won't set them all to zero unless they should be set at 0... Think of the button/switch as like shift, ctrl and alt keys on your keyboard. When you press 'c', you get a 'c', but with the above keys pressed you get C, copy and close... Your drawbars would work in a similar fashion...
  11. Is it a 2x16 screen? Maybe the app is still configured for 2x20?
  12. Nice! All SID? I'm curious, are all those weird robotic kinda noises at the beginning synthesised or samples?
  13. Heya Uclaros, great to hear it was so easy for you :) Maybe you could share the code with us? The Wiki is a great place for putting things like this, and it makes life easier for those who do not have such programminmg skills as yourself. You can setup your own user projects page and paste the code in there. If you don't have the time, I will be happy to upload it for you, just PM me and I'll give you my email address, and you can send the files to me. Thanks!
  14. Nice one man! :) I think the 7912 might do the -12v?
  15. Short answer: depends on the song.
  16. Make sure you follow all the guidelines in the wiki for testing pot jitter... First thing, are all the unused AIN pins grounded?
  17. Thx LO that's a hot tip! :) You don't know any brand names by any chance? Thanks!
  18. hey Wise, seeing as you're tired, could you PM me the details of those cards so I can update the wiki? Thx mate :)
  19. Question for ya: what's going to set the 16-bit value of the output - Where is this 16-bit value?
  20. While I was working on the MBFX stuff I stumbled across this logarithmic response from having a resistor parallel to a pot... If anyone wants to see lots of pretty graphs and ugly math let me know and I'll send you a MS Excel file with my findings... Of course there is one way around it... Use two variable resistors in parallel and find a way to vary the resistance on both of them simultaneously...
  21. Gday mate :) Good news! Yes, what you have suggested will work for sure...however you don't have to use a DIN module to get a digital input, you can run a single DIN directly off the core :) I'm at work right now so just making a quick post. I'm pretty sure that the instructions you need are on this forum, but if you can't find them, let me know, and I'll show you how. good luck!
  22. Fair enough :) If only there was an easy way to get eagle layouts into it, it would be good for making custom PCB's combining several MBHP modules...
  23. hehehe it's always some graphics app when I go "Oooh that's pretty" So while we're building stuff... What are you guys planning on doing with these exactly? Speech only? Synth stuff? bit of both? I'm going to get mine doing kototama and some zen chants (Kannon sutra for example) and mangle it by modulating and sequencing according to frequencies and intervals related to the sounds.. Uhm some kind of algorithmically assisted user programmable robot generating chants to the deities... Nothing too unusual ;D I'm sure you're not all just building it for the sake of it, what are your plans? :)
