  1. If you visit this page Character LCD Controller Chips Supported by MIDIbox there's heaps of info about the LCD IC's that are supported, and right down the bottom you can find an ebay search that finds them all :) If you're not particular about what kind of screen you want, then it's just a matter of finding the cheapest one you can, that has one of those chips. You can usually find all that in the datasheet PDF for the LCD module.
  2. I don't think jsynthlib works for a v2 sid does it?
  3. For the total price per switch, you have to add the price of the base switch (3FTL6*), and the button cap (1*), and if you are illuminating them, LED (you can find them locally I guess heheh) - any standard 3mm LED off ebay or whatever will do the job. So currently, the most expensive switch would be about 1.80+.80+.10= $2.70 per switch in total. The cheapest would be 1.00+.40 = $1.40.... But I think they'll go down. Well, they are expensive compared to budget tact switches - but for a very small quantity custom run of high quality switches, it is a rather good price yes, I was happy! I'm sure about the prices, and have been assured that there will be quantity discounts, so, the more the merrier :) I just hope the discount is good, I can guess, but I have no idea what it will be, really :D
  4. 4066 is an improved 4016... If you're going to go this route (As I said, I'd check out the analog devices stuff too, as they're specifically designed for carrying audio, but anyway...) then you may prefer the 74HC4066 over the CD4066 as it is much cleaner. Phattline: Any chance you could shrink the pics a bit? :)
  5. Gotta love the 1-click 3D images... It seems like a toy but damn it's handy! It's like an onscreen prototype. Of course Eagle3D can do it but there are a few more steps... And when all else fails it makes for quality pr0n ;)
  6. a 452 won't do I'm afraid.... definitely check for physical erros if you can see them. If you could try and re-upload MIOS and then a test app, and paste the logs from MIOS studio, that would be good. Don't forget smart mode/wait for upload request! It may be worth also trying things with just the core and LCD...but remember, don't make multiple changes inbetween tests.
  7. 4 filter CV = 2* cutoff, 2* resonance (it's for stereo pairs I guess!) You might like to look at the TI and AD sites for audio switches.
  8. Sorry my bad! Yes, that's the one in that thread about the ssm I mentioned...This one :) Ahh my mistake again! Yeh, what kind do you need? What signals are going through them? There are lots of different flavours. I guess the 4066 is the standard, but there are many types that are intended especially for audio. You would not have been the first person to ask ;) HTH!
  9. Just lovely!!! And the cable and PSU are icing on the cake. Cbs hahahha Just so long as you don't say you CBF finishing it ;)
  10. Welcome aboard dude! Hahah NO there's not room, especially in the front! Take a look at the pics ;) That might be doable... I actually thought there already was one hahah I'll be making one like his, and two in racks with some bells and whistles...
  11. That should probably be routed via an AOUT module, you can see more discussion about that in the current thread about the ssm filter.... but uhm... I thought you were doing a VCO? Momentary ons. You should really search the forum and wiki if you're not sure on such things ;) Search for 'mbfx' (don't forget to follow and where necessary add tags) to find info on this.
  12. Did you configure it for your hardware? Next time please just copy and paste the text log here - I copy and paste it elsewhere and it makes it quick for me to troubleshoot. I can only see some of what's happening there, but the unexpected upload requests suggest that your box is constantly rebooting. Well Iwouldn't say it's good. You need to fix that before you start trying to make software work. Do that first. Your firmware won't work on broken hardware, and that's what you've got right now.
  13. Ahh I see :) Well it's clear you need the router... Perhaps you could do this: Build the core for your router. Put the clockbox app on it to try it out and get to know it a little better. Build the IIC_MIDI modules and finish the box off as a router. Try PC as clock generator, and if you don't like it, build the clockbox too :) But for your purposes, I think that a single clockbox sending a single port with clock signals, connected to a router input, is more useful than a multi-port clock. It has crossed my mind that maybe, just maybe, the clockbox, or a minimised variant of it, could even run on the same core as the router (so, router+clockbox in one app). That might be something to experiment with later on.... It may not work due to timing issues though.
  14. Hmm I don't get that one... Looks like a browser rendering error to me. Some of the lines around cells, like the one which is missing in your pic, are a little too wide on my PC, because of zooming levels... Try CTRL+0 or whatever sets your zoom level to normal? Have you rebooted? Perhaps you added a new plugin to your browser recently?
  15. What happens when you upload the app with those instructions? Can you paste the log?
  16. You shoud not be using MIDI-Ox, you need to use MIOS Studio. Search for posts by me about mios studio, sort by most recently posted, and near the top and you'll find instructions. Try that and see how you go :) Oh... what app is it?
  17. Twin-X / TK can you look at this for spandex? :) (who is very patient!)
  18. By hand :o check out the whole site, that's hundreds of pages and thousands of links! Yeh I figured I'd tweak the app a bit... I think wayback are well tooled against such things, but we'll see ;)
  19. Welcome aboard :) That depends on how you want to cable it! They are entirely different things really.
  20. Well wayback machine killed my spider... Anyone have any luck there/other ideas? Still, it doesn't get the images back :(
  21. I'll be ordering soon, and future orders will be dependent on demand. They won't do these in short runs, so I would say that if you're not ready to pay within a reasonable time, you'll probably have missed out. I don't mind extending things a little bit if needs be, but there's a whole group of people to consider.... So when exactly is "soon", sirkit? And arum, I'm sorry but I think you'll miss out. You could get the ssm pcb and maybe ICs (IE, the things that can't wait) now and get the parts later if you're really keen... I'll leave it up to you. Does anyone not have the money for these things and need extra time? Is anyone in need of receiving them within a certain time?
  22. I'm aware of wayback machine but the importance of that site is lost on you if you think that's good enough. That site is to midi, what google is to searching. ;) There's a lot more to it than just that midi spec page - windows programming info being one.. Jeff put in a LOT of hard work teaching a lot of people about midi and how to use it with their gear, be that gear a PC, mac, synth or midibox or whatever....The sites been there since forever too. If anyone is able to somehow make a complete working copy of the entire site, I am sure we could find a host.... I'd prefer to have the name's permission before hosting it but if he has just disappeared as it seems.....What can we do? A couple of us have tried to email him but it returns an NDR saying his mailbox is full. It occurred to me that maybe the hosting company would be able to get the data for us from backup tapes, perhaps for a small fee (which I will pay).... But I think they'll want Jeff's permission to do that. If anyone else is keen on trying to resurrect the site I'll help them to find assistance if they need it. A couple of emails to some of the big audio blogs like matrixsynth etc would surely spark up some interest. Note: If we do get it back up, full credit for the content will remain with Jeff - it's only right.
  23. Moved this to MBOTW, even if the photo does look like you made it in the year I was born :D
  24. This topic has been moved to MIDIbox of the Week. [iurl]http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php?topic=11823.0[/iurl]
