Should I use the rectificator on other modules ?
moebius replied to dcreatorx's topic in MIDIbox SID
Hi, Yes. You can remove core regulator and put a bridge between pin1 <-> pin3, but leave the SID modules as is. Bye, Moebius -
Yup, in the current setup it's the only way to ensure PIC -> SID data transfers are in sync. Bye, Moebius

Hi. Moxi might have some answers and help for you: http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php?topic=4065.0 Actually Oakley Sound Systems is alive and well 8) Only the less profitable and more time consuming DIY kits and PCBs business is gone. You can find the reasoning behind this decision in the SDIY archives. (http://www.retrosynth.com/synth-diy/index.html, message dated Sat, 05 Nov 2005, search for Oakley) Yet, some Oakley products are available as full modules from http://www.ear-group.com and more to come. Bye, Moebius

I hope your using small capacitors? Bye, Moebius

Hi All! I MUST admit - I'm a bad trader. dcreatorx had to wait 2 WEEKS for me to send him the C64 PSU, I didn't need. It wasn't on the top of the list of my "to do" list, but it's unacceptable. I'm sorry. Now, If I got your attention - How about MB trading post, here in Misc section? I didn't need that PSU, so I didn't want anything but my postage costs covered. (I'm sorry, Pay_c :)) But I think there is some midiboxers with spare C64 PSUs closer to Spain than me, in Finland? Bye, Moebius

Hi, Antonio. The driver should work. The first two lines show the information from first 20 characters of the 2x40 setup and the last two lines the rest. (See http://home.iae.nl/users/pouweha/lcd/lcd0.shtml from more information about addressing) Bye, Moebius

Thanks, raphael! You made a GOOD point there. Even beginners or people "almost there" should understand, forum is being watched by various people. Even if Your question isn't answered right away, don't start new topic because of it (and if you feel neglected and your question is not answered, just post a follow up to remind us). Once you get an answer, you can be sure that topic is being watched - and even if you have a new nearly related problem, post it there. Bye, Moebius

difference beetween the 2 optimized c64 psu boards?
moebius replied to tokyomatik's topic in MIDIbox SID
Ahem. Actually all the information is in the mbhp_4xsid_c64_psu_optimized.pdf Just read the small print. :D So, you better jumper between Pins 1<->3, where the 7805 was. ect. Just study the circuit. Bye, Moebius -
I need an european C64 PSU ! ! ! ( A calling for charity cannibal souls )
moebius replied to dcreatorx's topic in MIDIbox SID
Sorry, dcreatorx.. Haven't sent the PSU yet.. sorry. :P M -
Like-- bipolar? Going + and - from the groung (or reference).. Yeah. That what it does. Like a line signal. Yeah. That's right. Uh. No. Just a tiny one. And guitar pickups are also a huge inductive load?! Bye, MOebius

Jidis, Why do you have to tell the FORUM, that you have send a PM? Bye, Moebius

Hi, In the web http://home.iae.nl/users/pouweha/lcd/lcd0.shtml shows reports that at least some 1x16 displays are adressed as two blocks of 8 characters: first 8 chars=0x00..0x07 and the rest=0x40..0x47 Bye, Moebius

Thank You Synapsys! I just threw that out of my mind. I'm sorry for all the confusion. Bye, Moebius

HI. Those are bypass caps for the ICs (chips). I think you'll find the right placement under the PCB from the ucapps site. (It was between Pin 1 and Pin 14, right?) On the otherhand (Sorry KD), there has NO reports that leaving out these caps has left Midibox not working. Bye, Moebius p.s. I'm a strong believer of bypassing and problems with power supply impedance. But show me a MB with those problems, or chips damaged by not bypassing power.

Huh? I've got one :) Bye, Moebius/Samppa -
Hi. Isn't this basicly because guitar FX units have impedance matched to high impedance guitar pickups? Bye, Moebius

Difference between Transistors BC 547A and BC 547C?
moebius replied to thefRont's topic in Parts Questions
Hi. There is difference (probably hfe) between these devices, but it doesn't have any significance here. Bye, Moebius -
Pilo, please. We'll need your knowledge! Speak Your good English sometimes ;D M

And as always, AOUT page at the uCApps.de: http://www.ucapps.de/mbhp_aout.html MS-20s VCO in is exponential. (http://www.korganalogue.net/korgms/mstt.html) and +5VDC is easily converted to S-trig. (at least it worked with micromoog I had, one NPN transistor and one resistor) Bye, Moebius

This sounds very strange to me. The only thing I can suspect is that you have connected the encoder in AIN.. not to DIN. Bye, Moebius p.s. These simple things are NEVER bugs in TKs code

Hi. Steve Thomas made this comparison between different transfer methods, you'll find letraset and lazertran there: http://monopole.ph.qmw.ac.uk/~thomas/synthdiy/frontpanel.htm Big thumbs up for this :D Lazertran seems to be the best one to use. (by the way.. those last pics are MBSeq and Oakleys TB3030 integrated in to one box) I tried laser printer transparency film transfer on spray color painted aluminium surface - it looks like it's doable, but I have to search for the optimum technique. (once again ;)) One thing I noticed, was that the surface should be as flat as possible, so you should use fine sandingpaper before trying the transfer. One of the things I wonder, is if the toner will survive the laquer coating that is needed to protect it. Bye, Moebius

Hi. Here's Karls pages: http://www.sdiy.org/knas/ You'll find a short description and and the schematics from there. Bye, Moebius
