  1. Yup - with no code modifications... but a clever coder would scan for the shuttle ring position and then send jog wheel messages with different speeds (per amount of turn) to emulate shuttle :D I'm no clever coder, M
  2. Hi. It's all here: http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php?topic=3852.0 Moebius ;D
  3. Autorouters are No good! (Ok, maybe then when you have 4 layer board with separate power and Ground planes and lotsa Bus architecture stuff) I do use autorouter for "drafting" - or I make loose functional blocks out of different parts of the circuits and then use autorouter to see how good different layout versions SEEM to be routable. I had a five min look at that board and used my "eye vision router" and came to the conclusion that board doesn't need a single bridge even with the current IC positioning 8) Remember it's a puzzle You have to solve! 4. Yes. Most of this configuration stuff for MS-10 can be done from software setup. Only filter control is more problematic, so have a look at Midibox CV page and details on Balanced CV extension.. (not hard one to do) Moebius
  5. Hi. Which is more important - that You understand this jargon or that controlling MS-10 works? = Midibox CV Hz/V option. TK has used Korg MS-50 to realize this. = This is funny one ;) V/oct. scaled down (to 0,5V/Oct) + Balanced CV extension = Switched trigger, S-trig whatever. Using reversed gate polarity should work. Uh, and build the Midibox CV by following orders on the site and worry about scaling max voltages ect. later. Moebius
  6. No. It's unity gain stable, but NOT an rail-to-rail opamp. Better to use bigger margins for opamp supply. (You can find rail-to-rail, unity gain stable opamps but it will cost ya) (By the way, the circuit is averaging not an adder) It's hard to hit the rails this way without CV inputs being over the rails. And hitting the rails with opamp isn't LETHAL :D Moebius
  7. Hi! With burrned "firmware", you should be able to upload MIOS and any MB application - no problem. Moebius
  8. The new version of MPASMWIN reports the path problem right away and refuses to compile. I think more annoying problem is the way Microchip packs it's CRAP. Ok - today it's possible to only install MPASMWIN, but resulting install is around 30MB and the app has bloated to 5MB. So - as "p18f452.inc" is included in source packages Thorsten distributes: I'm willing to give You Warez d0wNLoAD of MPASMWIN.EXE v03.70.01, size 900kB - all you need to compile Midibox applications. Just PM me. Moebius
  9. All should work without any problems! :=) M
  10. Sorry for posting here in English - and I don't know german at all.. It's 4051.. and if you're askin which one to choose, any version should do. Moebius - once again doin' damage in "native speaking" board sections
  11. Lemme have a try on this one: It's up to the application :D But if you read thing like this: Motorfader = Pot = 1 AIN pin (needs support for MF too) Button = 1 DIN pin Encoder =2 DIN pins Leds = 1 DOUT pin (normally, different math in matrix mode) And then do the calculations against things that application supports, you'll get close to the truth :D Moebius
  12. No info just rant :) In the PCs (as in Personal Computer) user has always been the weakest (and the cheapest link of them all) Mac vs. IBM PC SCSI vs. IDE USB vs. FireWire The herd has spoken with its wallets and look where it's got them? As cheap and "good enough" goes, it forces everybody along. You don't get a TOOL but something disposable as the next generation obsoletes the old one that was the "INcredible New Thing" 2 years ago. But - I'd say, go for the Firewire (IEEE 1394), should good enough for supporting both audio and midi HW and even external storage (for recording/playback) in the same time. Sadly haven't really seen 8x8 firewire midi-interfaces, but these probably exist. ;D Moebius p.s. Hmm.. Uh, Boy, did I have fun once when playing with Digital Video camera - it had also support for still images (with smartmedia). What did they think?!? [cursing censored] It had Firewire for DV link AND USB for downloading the still images.
  13. Not bad analysis - BUT! Log pots are there for reason, one of them Human Hearing being log curved :D It means, that we sense log control curve as linear volume rise in our ears. Moebius
  14. You might have seen something about "Software needed" in the main.asm? You compile the software with MPLAB IDE or MPASM and.. well, You can use main.hex with MIOS Studio to upload it to the pic.. or even convert it to the main.syx, if you want.. Oh, look at http://www.ucapps.de - there's HOWTOs section. Moebius
  15. Hmm.. Try checking that regulator output versus ground point (VS) ;D Moebius
  16. Uuuhh - In the subject of Live :D Downloaded your http://djassault.com/sneakthief/Sneak-Thief_vs_Polygamy_Boys_live_in_Berlin.mp3 Nice set - I just love to hear all these EBM references, some melodies resembling good old 80s SynthPop, Harthouse techno ect. all smashed up to your own sound! Moebius
  17. Congratulations! Reviving old skills went easy for You and looks like You're hooked on solder fumes again ;D Moebius
  18. Yup :) and even shuffle it's internal timing Or actually it's called: * external sync (MIDI clock slave) In the MidiboxSEQ page.. I bet your host software can send Midi Clock! Moebius
  19. No, nope! ;) See midibox extensions page: http://www.ucapps.de/midibox_ext.html and especially http://www.ucapps.de/midibox_ext/lfo/lfo_schematic.pdf for PIC input protection scheme for overvoltages. (U might not want to use biasing (resistors), but those diodes) Moebius
  20. Hi, You might give a try at Midibox64E, (which has experimental support for potentiometrs) along with encoders. If you're one of the guys that learn by doing - get your soldering iron ready and learn how to follow intructions / documentation given in ucapps.de. Remember, the most parts of the Midibox Hardware platform are recycleable from one project to another, so if MB64E goes well it easy to start planning about LC. If you check the LC documentation, You'll find out that it's pretty sparse.. there are choices to be made by the builders and as it an advanced project, the documentation is made assuming that potential builders have pretty good understanding of Midibox and electronics already. 21. My pleasure - Hmm.. It's -06 and I'm finally getting grips on this system to customize it for optimum feature/performance ratio. Well. I did try this with a box with Cubase 3.7 and Wavelab. You'll need DXMedia/ActiveShow audio streaming components for DirectX fx plugins, but nothing more. Desktop/apps runs fine and fast with no DirectX installed. Video playing is no no without DirectDraw. This "performance" thing is really subjective. I think my computer shows better performance without DX stuff. I think that's directly related to the registry size. As long as you don't delete files (grr.. I do that too, bye bye ie.exe, jscript.exe, vbscript.exe.. ;) you can play with the registry nearly as much as you like. Just run scanregw before doing massive, brutal (I just LOVE that word in the registry editing context) edits and backup your registry. In the worst situation You'll need to boot to dos and extract stuff from the latest working registry backup cab. It might not sound like fun - but it's worth it, I think! With some tinkering you might shrink registry size to half and enjoy the benefits and the speed up and not even make anything broken in the process :D Moebius
  22. Not clean enough :) - Install lite, and then Unofficial w98SP2.. Use Exhelper, shexview, mmview and RegSeeker to get rid of components You don't need. For the music computer, you don't need Directx!! Even for the FX = .. and only Audio related DMedia/ActiveShow components, not the bloody codecs. Peace and fast old windozes, no networking!! Moebius
  23. More hardcore - I'll give away Casio SK-1 for a person: a. Can directly control "so called" drawbar synthesis b. Can directly control "so called" drawbar synthesis c. Can directly control "so called" drawbar synthesis This is no know midi mod.. ect. This offer ends up 13.2.2006. If you got the datasheet for the ship and you feel like it.. Do IT! Moebius
  24. Yup. You are correct. That's a hard one - I've got 10k Alps from the a VCR -- I've heard that Panasonics has similar. (these are 9mm pots or something with 6mm shaft that's marked with center). And "mee electronics shop" sells these "guitar" parts with 10k CD.. cheap pots, big price. Moebius
  25. Hi. If You're making a your own layouts - sure! No problem at all ;) Be sure to publish your SMD versions for the public, ok? Moebius
