hello ive started wiring up my long running traktor box project i use one ainx4 board with only two 4051,s in i dont understand the instructions with what to do with j3 and j4 i think that i connect all of the un used connections to ground and as for j5 idont understand at all i hope some one can help as im getting excited at nearly finishing thanx kris

thanx the step sequencer idea is good im designing a layout for reasolume at the moment but ive not used it much so got to keep practicing before i get the ideal lay out so thats why i wondered if any body had done something already thanx kris

hey up i just wondered if anybody made a controller for video mixing ive started using resolume and i want to make a controller to use with it

although im not on this forum very much i like to keep in touch with whats going on first thorsten is a saint and i personally owe him alot the sense of satisfaction i got frombuilding my first box 2 years ago now was emense its been all over the place all over india in the himalaya and it still works fine .and is still bringing plesure anyway to the point 2 years ago the rest of the world really didnt have much idea why they needed a controller or how to make it low and behold thorsten close and the midi box forum our guiding light and salvation (i include all of the individuals you have contributed). in some small way i think all of the commercial offerings out there now behringer etc have been inspired by what goes on here. surely imitation is a form of flattery (art is plagarism after all ) so why all the bad attitude about sasha etc. so knowbody who gets some one else to build there box is going to get the same satisfaction as someone who builds there own but lets face it electronics isnt for everyone the same as we are not all concert pianists. we all have different skills. so im not suggesting let big commercial interrests take over but maybe some sort of way where the small custom builder could make them for people thorsten and the forum could benefit and the builder could benefit the person who wants it built benefits (they would have probably gone and bought one of the commercial offerings anyway ) theres more midi boxes in the worldand we are all happy. i realise this is a radical idea to some people but my idea is not to offend so if i have offended anybody i am truely sorry. im currently working on my follow up to the last box its taken alot of thinking and designing but its coming together finally so ill post pictures when its done. it would have been a lot quicker to get the finaces for it together if id folowed up the requests "to make me one" after finishing the first but i didnt so now finally two years later its happening lets hope the debate can move forward kris

hey sorry to bother you all but im having a real problem finding 10 k lin faders rs doesnt stock the alps fader that ive used before and deltron the uk alps importer doesnt have them either they will order them 10 -12 weeks wait and minimum order of 100 so im really looking for a uk or international supplier of alps 10k lin fader or if anybody can suggest an alternative thanx very much

sounds like a good project i also spent along time thinking about jog shuttles on a midi box traktor controller but in the end i decided that i can do what i need with buttons and sliders as i also have controlled forward or reverse in the track with a slider but good look and i look forward to seeing the fineshed box

there used to be texas instruments chips that did this one on the midi send one onthe midi recieve i cant rememberthe numbers of the chips though sorry dont know anything about the range eiether

hey up im having great difficulty in finding 10k lin pots that have screw holes in the top so i can mount them to my case when i made my first midi box 18 months ago( see bass natural in the gallery )i had no problem i bought alps from rs they now dont stock them and have been sending me the wrong ones for three weeks deltron the uk supplier havent come up with the goods yet eiether and say i might have to order 100 and wait 12 weeks not a good situation as i only need 5 for my new traktor box so please please please can somebody help with either a uk supplier or an international one who can help

high thank you for the info im programming 18f452 with the bootstrap loader then through (usb) midi im loading mios and a midibox app if i follow the info right just to clarify thanx very much

     hey up i made one of the old midibox 64  with the old firmware now im making a mios box and im at the stage of the boards made and wanting to program the pic   but im confused can i not put mios into the new pic with a jdm programmer and if not how do i programme mios as  i dont have a midi connection to the core module at the moment

ive got my modules built for a traktor box im just wondering if i run a 16f877 with old firmware are there any compatability problems with the usb module thanx for such a wonderful project

i know there is some difficulti in powering the boards from usb but has anybody ever done it

high yea thats basicly the idea ive talked to another guy on the site whos started to write the code for the jogs im not that good at coding but it looks like ill get my head round it thanx good vibes to everyone

high wise who are okw whats the web address as for buttons im looking at the moment so ill let you know i bought some last time from reichelt but they are exspensive i planing something like that for the jogs myself so thanx for the info i think its good to play with traktor and talk to dj's who use it regularly to find out the functions you need to use lots of good vibes to all the midi boxers out there

thanx very much justin that helps alot i can carry on designing my box now ive already got lots of potentiometers but i do want to check out encoders with the spring return i do something that returns to the centre when you let it go like a cdj this i think i can get from either a vcr control or order new from pioneer or some one ill order a 24by2 lcd

HEY UP it looks like a good design im also making a traktor dedicated box i also think you dont have to copy the traktor layout exactly im still thinking about the layout i want to use after using traktor with my first box i think i simple layout with the minimum of buttons and jog shuttles tone controls and kill switches and no leds im thinking of using rotary encoders for the jogs with the rubber wheels from cdj's which the spares department will supply id aprreciate feedback on this it will be really interesting to see all of these traktor controllers when there made thanx to thorsten for such an amazing project

hi ive made one of the old midibox 64's which has done very well for a couple of years now im in the process of making a new box for traktor with jog shuttles etc.. but i dont think i fully understand the new operating system how many buttons do i need to control the box and whats the best lcd ? ive bought 16by 2's but now im thinking maybe i should have got larger ones i dont fully understand rotary encoders either i would like to use them for the jog shuttle are they availble with spring returns if someone can point me in the right direction i would appreciate it ps. my old box is in the gallery as B NATURALS an old handle

im in the process of building a box with jog shuttles am i right to understand that rotary encoders with spring returns are available i only seem to get the albs site in german and i dont read german very well do i need a rotary encoder for the functions of the box as well and how manybuttons are needed for the functions
