i've re enclose the encoder, now it's like new but the grease that was inside is very dense and make a good resistance. i need to found a good dense grease. my grease is to soft and the encoder now turns too fast for me :) so scream, tnx for the input but i've just put my grease inside :P. very few, i'm so careful doing this, but i think i must use another type. any suggestion?

I had a big problem with my XT. He is hard used and the cutoff encoder do not run the value step by step but, it jump to max to quite min if i turn up fast and vice-versa. i've open it and clean, now it work but: what kind of 'oli' (grease) is the one that is inside? new encoders have too. this kind of encoders are hard to close like was by manufacturers. now there is a micro tic because the little metal enclosure are not so heavy. some photos. more photos later.

sure, i will :) x0xBOM updated on 03 06 2008 for prices and obsolete. here there is my BOM for mouser of all the parts that you can buy, hope will help. there are 2 kind of resistors, 1% less noise, 5% original 303 ones. there are 40 + resistors 10k ohm for leds, you can mange them. there are fo 74HC* different options by manufacture. include the Pots, so if you don't want the x0x original you can omit. obsolete parts are replaced. just copy/paste into mouser inport BOM from the 2 columns like this example: 595-CD74AC174E 1 mouser# (space) Qt must go to work now 8)

hey Goblinz, i've PM you too 'for a while'. :P where i suggest you to take part on mouser if Prof do. it's cheap than digikey. i've a list of all parts that you can buy on mouser if you need, only few things are digikey 'only' but Prof probably can order over it too. so i can stop waiting for you on my bulk? ;) i'm collecting some rare too, let me know.

from the ladyada forum: "1% resistors are less noisey and less prone to drift so if you want the original noisey and out of tune characteristics of the 303 you should get the 5% but i cant imagine why youd want that." "yes you'll be alright. If you want a true 100% clone then you'de have to go with the 5% carbon - at least in the analog voice circuits (vco/vcf/vca etc..). Probably the difference in tolerance is the biggest thing. You'll be absolutely fine with the 1% metal film."

they are perfect. there is no reason to remove completely the iron round of the mechanism. just beat it and make flat. here some pics, not very good but this is the way.

hi! nice.. i love waldorf sound from ever. absolutly not like 'standard'. at now all MEGA synths are going to be too similar in sounds, they have no original timbre, 1000 voices, 2000 LFO, 3000 OSC etc. wft i don't need an orchestra. waldorf synths have many but not excessive module, but instead extreme matrix and stuff like that. my favourite XT rack, and Micro Q rack (the yellow!). so, had you make a photo of that little button under the panel? it seems like the MQ ones. i haven't now a MQ under my hans, but they seems cool and much little to use for DIY. thankyou! p.s. i've an XT, will make some photos but i know there are't much things inside. :p

yes i'm crazy: link updated to post #290 at digikey for 1 x0x all parts are €88. just left 2 dual pots, stereo jacks, socket. at mouser for 2 x0x all parts are $97 (€63). just left digikey only parts and some minor stuff. the digikey only parts are €37.66. the toggle switch, tantalum & cercamic capacitors are present in digikey and mouser both, in ladyada site are just specific.

;) no prob. i'm waiting for some estimates. italian seller are slow, they don't itch to work. i've bought some parts for testing instead.

thankyou, they are cheap but have you test them? asaf i was talking about tact swiches, not the waveform toggle switch. :) B12AB-RO-ND this one is suggested on the ladyada site, do you think that it's not replecable? it's out of stock for now at digikey like the 16pos.

what do you think about replaceing the tact switch with the omron B3W-4050 or B3W-4055? some people had wrote on the x0x forum about some problem with the original ones, from e-switch i think?
