ts ts ts i had to look in the wikipedia now those are italian "Savoiardi" cakes dipped briefly in strong bitter coffee and layered (as layers of food no MBLC) with the famous "Simone s best cream" made with fresh eggs, cane sugar, whipped cream, mascarpone cheese and just a couple of spoons of Marsala wine (reserve 2001).Then it is all dusted with "dirt" as Mr J says but it is in reality first choice plain cocoa powder (don t breath in while eating or you ll get all the cocoa powder in your throat.. so no junk food here ..

absolutely right but: translation: sorry but it s 10 years i don t practice italian! .. nice to refresh a little bit my native language... but yeah you are defenetely right.. my idea was about rolling some tape around a piece of plastic, wood, whatever non-conductive material, so that you can achieve more resistance per centimeter Matteo is ok with a long ribbon but i am more keen to smallish thingy to stuff in my travelling bag... ciao matteo si sono daccordo pero non tutti hanno a disposizione tutto quello spazio, io almeno non ce l ho.. cambia se il nastro non tocca se stesso nel "giro" precedente, scusami ma sono 10 anni che non pratico l italiano!! forse era meglio in inglese!!! pensavo che se, per esempio dai 20 giri al nastro avresti una risoluzione di 40 steps, 1 per giro + cuando tocchi 1 giro con il seguente, poi il seguente etc forse non e quello che tu stai cercando, e solo un idea.. ;) ciao

mmmm ... foam... it s getting better and better i can t wait to do my own one... there are many kind of tapes we could try, old audio tapes, vhs, svhs, dat (are they tapes right?) old systems for videocameras, probably there is a best choice to go with.. another little idea to have the sensor shortened.. you could emm matteo in italiano poi vediamo in inglese, allora se prendi tipo una stecca di plastica e ci arrotoli il nastro, intorno e a spirale, quindi partendo da una parte e finendo dall altra.Ci sarebbe quindi piu resistenza per centimetro e si potrebbero fare dei sensori piu corti che ti sembra? ciao!

ciao matteo!! very good and inspiring .. i had an idea but it s easy if i try to sketch it up and show than if i try to explain.. ;) Simone EDIT: will that change anything if something has been recorded in the tape?

Simone

hi i have libraries for those encoders but they are made to be used with DIY etching not for prods but if you want them i can fire them to you Simone

hi George thanks for pointing out the Weller stuff.. i have to say that i had the same problem with Weller, but i did want to break an arrow for it since it s world known and blablabla but i couldn t find the replacemnt tips, but hey i live in a small island in the middle of the ocean.. but it seems like it is a wide spread problem.. so Mr Weller where are those tips?? eh? and mine was a quite crappy (can you say crappy? ;) 25W mains unit. Anyway stay away from those extremely cheap soldering irons except if it is for a desperate one go, anyway it won t last more than 1 project.. ..for the fun of it, i did my first MB project with a 12W (12v) solderinng iron and 2mm (!) dia tin!!!! and it incredibly worked at the first attempt!! .. this will go dead after 100 hours of use, then you won t find a proper replacement for the tip and if you find it it will cost more than the soldering iron and will last another 100 hours.Anyway the tip will probably start decomposing after a few hours. I would better spend 30 euros (minimum) for a weller or ersa or something that will give you many many hours of pleasant soldering.Funny how they usually mark as "ideal for beginners" something that will make the beginner s life more difficult. I liked very much that one: DIY doesn t stand for make it cheap! Simone -
... i will go for the software solution and use the common anode bicolor leds, i cross my fingers... BUT one of the DOUT pins will drive 16 leds, in this case i have to use a transistor: a sink DOUT pin that will drive a sink transistor (dunno if my terminology is correct) -will this work? -can you name a transistor for this purpose? Simone EDIT: a little bird s named bc547 (max 0.2A) will that stand 32 x 20mA leds, limiting the current of course... do you know a bigger brother of the bc547?

..esta manana me he sentido asi :o ... pase 5 minutos asi >:( ... entonces pase a ??? ..pero :-\ ..sin necesariamente :'( .. y sin absolutamente sentirse :-[ .... ;) ... a todos, y digo a TODOS :-* Simone (que, para que se sepa, no es de habla hispana ... y se nota! grita en coro el forum espanol)

i was trying to brainstorm and give you a proper answer then i decided that the best thing you can do for youself, for me, and for the rest is get yourself a core, a din, a dout, a few buttons, a few leds, hook everything together and start toying around with the code main.asm and lc_io_table.inc then you ll easily get an idea of what you want to do for the LC and what the LC can do for you, the I/O stuff you know... ;) it s fun believe me! ok just for the sake of precision: PIC18F4685 is compatible but you don t need that much memory (anybody can confirm?) PIC18F452 is enough and cheaper cheers Simone

www.voti.nl don voti grows ;) only 1 model, that one

you push the GPC button! see ucapps.de / downloads / complete applications / MBLC / main.asm and lc_gpc.inc ..i also had the "oh my god me trying to read assembly code? no way" fear but then i did it and there are more comments than code and there you understand everything (uh!) .. everything you can .. and especially appreciate the big effort put there by weknowwho.. have fun! My personal opinion ... use 3 cores it s about 40 euros more i know but no need to map the buttons AND you may want to using layering to assign other functions to the buttons.. Simone
