well,.. this seems to work ;D We basically have to wrap the midi messages in a special protocoll, and we need 2RX and 2TX, so the 2 devices can communicate bidirectional. With a bit of coding it should work like this: the static base sends a midi-message "XX" the mobile part recieves the midi-message "XX", and sends it back to the base. the base recieves the message again, compares it with the message that has been sent. If both messages are identical, the base sends something like "ok" and continues with the next message. If there's an error during the transmission and the mobile part recieves the midi-message "XY", it'll send it back to the base, but the base will notice that there was an error and will repeat the message. all in all it's pretty simple,... we just need someone who does the coding ::)

I know what you mean. You're talking about a protocoll that provides "handshaking" to be sure that there won't be any data lost during transfer (Imagine an improvided synth-solo with a hanging blue note during a live show :o)

I'm also thinking of changing my nickname. When I registered at the forum I didn't think that I'll visit it regularly, so I didn't think that much about my nickname. I just took some letters the name of the band i'm playing in ("the slowpokes", I don't know which guy came up with this stupid name, but we hadn't had an alternative). But in the meantime I started to dislike my nickname as is just sounds stupid and as it isn't really creative. I'm just looking for an avatar now, so people connect me with the avatar, and then I'll change my name. (just as Sasha did it.)

Hi, i don't want any SIDs, but there is one thing I've seen quite often in the forum, and now I finally want to ask how this works. This has /nothing/ to do with midibox or the SIDs, btw. Wilba, you've written So, my question is: why did you write "not pulls from C64" ? You'e from Austraila, so i assume you're speaking perfect english ;D, can you tell me the grammatic term for that? My english-feeling says that it has to be "not pulled from C64". I just want to clear that up :) thanks matthias

Jep... The first thing i did after I've read "whack" was to look it up in a Dictionary ;D There it was translated as "Schlag" in german (hit,impact, electrical shock (coll.) )

wo isn dein Problem? 2A 5V, Das sollte reichen für ne MB_LC. Kaufen, messen (wo die 5V anliegen), Gleichrichter und 7805 rauslassen und dann einfach da anschließen, wo der 7805 hinkäme: (-) an die Mitte (Masse) (+) an output vom 7805 am besten du schaust dir mal das Bild an. Ich hab markiert wo + und - der 5V-leitung hinkommen.

The only difference is that one some cs's the silk-screening is different (using symbols for waveforms, etc), and the color of the LEDs, the 4*20 Display and the ALBS-Waldorf knobs is different :-\

Jep.... that is a quite sad thing IMO. Wilba did a good job - no doubt, but now, all those MB-6582s look quite the same. Everyone buys a PCB, a Pactec PT-10 case and the frontpanel - and it's all the same. Just have a look in the MB-Gallery. There were so many different, interesting, sexy and sometimes just damnright crazy cases. Of course - it's not that *everyone* is building a MB-6582, but there are many. And now Wilba's MB is has nothing unique anymore. just my 2 cents matthias
