    My finished MB-SID

well,.. as I already said somewhere else: my PSU was too weak. I got a new one, bit noisy, but it works. Then I thought about all the features of a stereo-SID. And then I thought about the pair of 6852 I've got from Wilba... And then I bought a bigger housing and grabbed the SID-PCB that was intended for my "bigger" SID... Now I'm looking for a knob that fits better to the new housing..

Du "holst" den Wert also "ab". Vorteile sind die nicht vorhandenen Parametersprünge. Außerdem sind Potis billiger als Encoder. Nachteile sind die Programmierarbeit sowie die Tatsache dass du nicht siehst, wo sich der Wert befindet.
  4. knobs: just search the forum. keybord: "waldorf Knobs" buttons: standart available everywhere and with different heights
  5. ach nein ;D Ich meinte, warum muss es ein Gameboy-Gehäuse sein?
  6. Für was genau brauchst du denn das Teil eigentlich?
  7. what midi-interface do you use at the moment?

  9. yep. works with web.de
  10. 3 Randomly chosen characters "A" "B" and "Y" ;D ;D
  11. I think I've noticed a bug in rc22: Drum Engine, SQC-Menu, I want to change the Length. The length at the moment is n. I press the button below "Len", now the Screen shows "Parameter Assign" "[n-1]| [Parameter name/Knob number]" depending on how long the sequence was before pressing the Len-button, the parameter number is n-1. example: Len=16 -> push the Len-button -> "15|Knob KNOB#A" Len=5 -> Push the Len-button -> "4|CutOff Filter" While I'm in the Parameter assign menu, I can change the Length by counting the detents of the menu-encoder example Len=16 -> push the Len-button -> "15|Knob KNOB#A" -> Turn the menu encoder 11 detents anit-clockwise -> push the menu-button to exit -> Len=5 regards matthias

  15. dumb dumb dumb dumb... I used another PSU this time... and it was just a bit to weak. I didn't notice it the first time, because the Ld init patch sounded just a bit different. The JSL thing was coincidence. Now swapped to my old PSU. Now 13W@12V instead of 12W@12V. dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb ...
  16. change Id application?
  17. yep. yep. I guess you mean the transistor. nope. but I'll try that. ...and I'll record some sound... 'cause that's a really strange one..
  18. Don't worry, I'll do that for you: ;D
  19. Hi folks, my MB_SID was working very well for about a month. And just one hour ago I wanted to try JSynthLib to control my MB_SID. I made some random changes (OSC, ENV,etc) and pushed the "Send" button. After that my SID started to make some kind of Square wave with a frequency of 2 or 3 Hz. Basically It was just some regular "popping" sound. I switched my SID on and off, and when I played some of my patches, it made some distorted sounds, the filter went crazy (though it wasn't assigned to any channel), and the sound didn't stop when I released the key. So I uploaded MIOS and then the SIDV2 app, and it was still the same. I switched the SID with a new one from Wilba, and it was still the same I even switched the PIC...and it was still producing some weird distorting sound. I'll recheck everything tomorrow...but I'm still wondering: Can a SID-chip be destroyed via software (Syx dump) ? matthias edit: I've just tested it again with the initial patches, and it sounds different depending on the engine: Ld: key pressed: sound (as usual, just a bit quieter) key deperessed: sound keeps going (probably other Pulsewidth, just as loud as when the key is pressed) Ml: just distorted, seems that the first instrument does not always work. the sound stops when the keys are released Bs: works, but really quiet Dr: some work, some don't, some keep repeating even when the key is released, distorted @mods: feel free to move to the troubleshooting section... I wasn't quite sure where to put it.
  20. So, does nobody know how to find the right transistor that fits your needs? The Transistor is after the Resistor and the Capacitor the most basic electronic component. Isn't there someone who can explain how to act in such cases?
  21. word! I haven't ever met a girl that doesn't run away when I tell her that I'm playing the synthesizer. awesome...
  22. I've just took an old Bontempi keyboard apart because I wanted to throw it away, but i thought someone could still use the 6 rubber (Drum- and Chord-) pads. I'll send the PCB, the rubber part and the piece of the frontpanel. just pay me the shipping costs with PP. I'll throw it into the waste bin on friday, the 4th of July. matthias DSCN0612.JPG DSCN0611.JPG DSCN0613.JPG
  23. yep. it is. ;D I think I should better improve my poor english instead of laughing about other people speaking german as a foreign language...

    Small encoders

what about the encoders of an old wheel-mouse? Not the ones that are used for scanning the movements of the ball, but the encoder that is connected to the wheel between the 2 mouse-buttons.
  25. ICs plugged in the right way? Are you using the right ICs? (no joke, I once changed a 6851 with a 8580. gladly not the other way round) ICs damaged? Regulator damaged?
