I did some searching some time ago but I wasn't able to find a 0404 driver... The guy from the E-MU support-center told me to switch off the whole PCI-Bus in the BIOS when booting Linux... ::)

Hi, I also want to switch to Linux but the only problem I see is that there are nearly no drivers available. I tried Ubuntu Linux (just for Internet) and I worked quite well but when i wanted to hear some music (E-MU 0404) while surfing I wasn't able to find a Linux/Debian driver for it... matthias

Hallo, ich hab da nochmal eine Frage; ich habe einen Freund der Zugang zu einem CNC-Fräser hat. Wäre es möglich dass Du mir ein FPD-File in ein anderes, für den Fräser lesbares Format umwandelst? Ich würde es verstehen wenn Du es nicht machen würdest, aber ich sehe darin den einzigen Weg zu einer Frontplatte zu kommen die unter 20€ kostet (den Kasten Bier für meinen Freund mit eingerechnet ;D) matthias

I meant "compared to usual pots" so you want your touch sensor to act like a analog controller... But it this case you have to connect it to the AIN , not to the DIN

Often those sensors have a different pinning as usual pots. Be sure to have the sensor connected right.

Also das Buch das ich habe nennt sich "Elektronik für Anfänger". Ich habs gerade nicht zur Hand, aber wenn ichs finde nenn ich Dir noch Autor und Verlag. Ich weiß aber garnicht ob das Buch noch gedruckt wird. Mein Vater hat es sich mal gakauft als er so 20 war. ..oder einfach ein gutes, altmodisches, stromsparendes Buch :) Ich hab mir die Basics nämlich selbst mit einem "Elektronik für Anfänger" Buch beigebracht. Meiner Meinung nach sind die Lernerfolge am besten, wenn man nicht stur auswendig lernt, sondern viel selbst bastelt... Auch gut ist wenn man viele Datenblätter liest :-) -kein witz!- man lernt immer was dazu! oh ja... ;) also, zwaps, wenn du weißt welche Bauteile die "blauen Kästen" sind, ist das schon mal kein schlechter Anfang ;D matthias

Hi, I've got a question concerning the PIC ID header. I've searced the Forum but didn't find a real answer. I'm planning to build a Stereo-SID. Therefore I need a IIC-Module, 2 SID-Modules and 2 Core-Modules. Which ID headers do I have to choose? 1. The Sysex Device ID should be the same in the 2 PICs as all the syx messages have to go to both the master and the slave, right? I want to use my MidiboxPlus to edit some parameters of the SID. This means that the 2 cores of my SID have to have a different Sysex Device ID than my MB+, right? 2. Do I have to select a IIC MIDI Adress although I'm using only 1 IIC-Module? LCD Type and I/O Type are clear. Thanks for your answers :) matthias

I actually wanted to say "heat gun".... but you know what I've meant :) It shouldn't be a problem with the right tools. I've seen people bending metal. Why shouldn't it work with plexiglass? matthias

I've just discovered a special kind of plexiglass. It's 2-5 mm thick, and you are able to bend it if you heat it up a bit. you've just got to fix one end (bench vice), take a piece of round wood. with the diameter you want, take a small flamer, heat it up and bend it over the wood. I don't have any experience with this stuff, but I think it shouldn't be that difficult to do. matthias
