  2. Hey, a bit of vectorising a raster picture never hurted anyone, if you wish I can do it 4 u. But it won't be on the next couple of days.

    Commodore 128D

Yeah, I'm also looking at this one and thinking...32 sliders, x pots......for my needs, It is just a overkill.
  4. Ok but how to complete the low-cost-circle only with hardware? Or, how to be sure not to get crash in live performance(or at least lower the probability of crash)? -the backup computer -normal OS [linux or X] -use open source so you can implement/fix functions [no open source is developed enough] -just shoot yourself.
  5. I think "Internal metal/plexi supports".
  6. Heh, been searching for "PDA" forgot the other option.
  7. It looks like we are the only two ppl who want to use palm2MIDI

C'mon ppl, why exactly that picture for avatar and what's specific about it? Mine was extracted from some dll that came with the Total Annihilation and I liked it from the first moment I saw it. Ever since I usually use it for avatars and icons for my projects.
  9. Hehe....let's not start a talk about faulty data mediums....and.....expenses...... BTW: I have Western Digital 120GB waiting to be recovered (with source codes and personal photos and....stuff.....). You see....the other day a girl walked out on me and I still miss more this data(that was lost 2 years ago) than her. Well, some things are irreplacable.
  10. I have a CASIO PV-S460 (with serial) so I'll have to write my own program to be an interface.
  11. Ouch, I just got tje idea: "Hey, how about I plug my PDA into a midi box and make it work as a interactive menu; effect control; status display....". I have in mind something like Pioneer DJM-909. Good thing zbout this approach is that CORE and PDA can interchange only comands, all the graphics and touch detection is handled by PDA itself....weery nasty developer toy if you have one PDA laying around. BUT, first to finish my basic TDS MIDIBOX.
  12. Read basics of LCDs, how they work: http://www.howstuffworks.com/lcd3.htm Then, open some poor electronic thing [usually some cheap calculator] that has LCD display and see if it's first "polarizing fim" is detachable from the glass part of LCD. If it is, try to flip it so you get a black screen instead of gray/green. Power on the device and see the change. Now, it won't look too good with non-backlit displays but with white backlight and one flipped polarinzing film, you get somethin' that you saw on the picture. EDIT Here is what I had in mind: http://www.icehw.net/article.php?id=65
  13. You can always program a linear touchsurface to work as an encoder.
  14. Sry for going offtopic but: 1. What are the chances to just reverse the polarizer on LCD and get a negative colors? 2. If your display is like 12 o'clock viewable would it be a solution to rotate the top polarizer for 180 deg. to get the 6 o'clock viewable screen? Tnx.
  15. Haven't read the whole tread but try using sysinternals ntfilemonitor. Set it's filters and run the compilation. Then look at the log for NOT FOUND files.
  16. Sharp distance measuring sensor: GP2D12 minimum/maximum distance: 10/80cm output, analogue: 3.1-0.6V Conrad price: 25eur :( :weep:
  17. HoHoHo, look at this idea: http://acg.media.mit.edu/people/nik/projects_n.cgi?spinalcat&intro
  18. Interesting ideas but they require much lager scale r&d and therfore more time and money to be spent. Please do explain your idea, with more details. That solution would probably be the best and smallest in the sense of code size and therefore the processing time.
  19. tNX, will try when I gather some free time.
  20. Aren't that a bit expensive? Can't we just recycle the existing ones(from PSX controller)?
  21. Ok, yeah, you can like have a preset button, then you start the turntable, wait until it spins to the constant rpm and then hit the preset and from that moment, PIC is considering that data speed to be "middle". Anything less than that is slower (<64) and more is (>64). How to measure the datrate? TK, F1.
  22. It's funny to read a german forum translated via Google. Now I'm thinking scratch/wind plates with a touchsensor feature. The commercial would go something like this: "When you lay your hand on it, IT KNOWS!"
