  1. Hey guys having an issue changing programs on a Mbase01 when I make pattern changes on the SEQV4… Just to note i have G1T1 set for 64 steps and parameter "e" is program change… Program change 11 is entered on every step with the "All" option… Each of these patterns have been saved in the pattern folder then a Session Save before moving to the next pattern… When I select pattern B1 from A1 it fails to change to Program 47 and stays on 11.. When I check parameter "e" on B1 it sez Program 11... Example... G1T1 Pattern A1 Program Change 11 Track Name: Mbase r01 pattern save then session save G1T1 Pattern B1 Program Change 47 Track Name: Mbase r37 pattern save then session save Steps to fix this… I have reinitialized the track to clear it all and no change… Program change works on the Mbase when I manually turn the GP1 knob when "All" function engaged… Strange thing is that my Minitaur works fine as it will change programs with Pattern changes... Any insight appreciated... Thx... bri
  2. cosmosuave - Boom Chuck SEQV4rmix 126 BPM live hardware techno track recorded straight from the mixer no edits no post... This is the first track made with the MIDIbox SEQV4 which is an amazing sequencer... I am looking froward to making more tracks with it as I have barely scratched the surface on what it can do... https://soundcloud.com/cosmosuave/boom-chuck-seqv4rmix
  3. Thanks for tge kind comments guys... Borfo where in TO are you? Would be into gettibg together but I need 2-3 minths of SEQ use before hand.... StuartM - All gear is in a roadcase... 4. A rough first track with the MIDIbox sequencer that I built and looking forward to making more tracks with this amazing sequencer... 126 BPM Acid track featuring a familiar Kraftwerk sample... Big thanks to Midilab for a ll his support to get the SEQV4 finalized and running... Sorry notsure how to embed SoundCloud https://soundcloud.com/cosmosuave/boom-chuck
  5. Hello... I am having issues changing patterns... Probably more of me not knowing how the sequencer works... it seems I can save patterns but I am unable to open a pattern other than the one playing... Examples.. G1T1 pattern A1 - Mbase kick named 4x4 G1T1 pattern A2 - Mbase kick named Weez Jackin With pattern A1 playing I will push the pattern button ... Under G1 I will use the encoder to change from A1 to A2... When i do this it the display flashes between A1 and A2 with an asterix showing... I cant figure out to selct the new pattern... Everything has been saved under the same Session... Maybe the patterns are not sitting in the right directory? Enjoying the sequncer just need to get my head around a few things having used a Machinedrum for so long... Thanks... bri
  6. Thanks for posting this as i was scratching my head too... For program changes I have been doing it via parameter layer and using the All function as the program change is set for each step... Will have to try Mixer Maps as I have everything communicating with the seq now...
  7. Awesome!!!! Changing to J4a fixed it QUAD IIc is working no more "*" when I choose the port... Now I can wire up my rig...
  8. Okay I think I may be onto something here as I have the QUAD IIc connected to J4b and not J4a and that my be causing my issues ... See below... Will switch to J4a tonight and hope it works... J4A 4 IIC port. Interface to BankSticks or to MBHP_IIC_* modules like MBHP_IIC_MIDI. J4B 4 A second IIC port, which can also be used as an additional MIDI IN/OUT port (MIDI IN4/OUT4) if enabled in MIOS32 (add "#define MIOS32_UART_NUM 4" to the mios32_config.h file). MIDI IN4 will be available on the J4B.SC. If a 6N138 based optocoupler circuit should be connected, replace the 2.2k pull-up R10 by 1k, or add a second 2.2k in parallel to get 1.1k effectively. MIDI OUT4 will be available on the J4B.SD pin, it isn't required to remove R9 if already soldered - it doesn't hurt.
  9. Not much happened running MIOS... Pulled the QUAD IIc out and will go over the solder connections... Just want to verify is there only one connection to the QUAD IIc via J4a (LPC) to J4 (QUAD IIc)? The 2x5 box header I assume is to connect other QUAD IIc modules as that is connected to nothing... Still not working after the following... Rechecked component placement and orientation... Pulled chips and reseated Reheated all solder connections... Try'd MIOS troubleshooting but not getting far with it... It seems the QUAD IIC works kind of... When I power on the the sequencer and then hit play all 4 led's on the QUAD IIc flash once then go out... When I stop the sequencer and hit play the led's will not flash they only flash after the sequencer has been rebooted... Is there code on the 4 pics that could be corrupted causing this? i am not getting far with this so I may just have to buy another QUAD II c module...
  10. I have been using a Machinedrum as a sequencer and now it will serve just as a drum module/sampler as I will be using the SEQV4 and am looking for some suggestions on how to use it in a live environment and will describe what worked well for me with the Machinedrum... The Machinedrum contains a 128 patterns ... A1 - A16 B1 - B16 ... ..... H1 - H16 Get the picture... The way I had it setup was each song (track) would consist of 8 patterns A1 - A8 song 1 and A9 - A16 as song 2... Each pattern would be 64 steps and would be intro breakdown build outro and so forth this all in pattern mode... Usually a set would be 8 songs so A1 - D16... I am looking to transfer the same way of working with the SEQV4 but am confused on how to do so... This is how I plan to set it up with my gear... Track 1 - Mbase01 Track 2 - Machinedrum Track 3 - Minitaur Track 4 - DarkEnergy Track 5 - Acidlab Bassline Track 6 - MKS-30 Track 7 - Ensoniq DP/4 Now the confusion... It seems if I want to use my Machinedrum method it leaves me less options... What I cant get my head around is G1T1 a pattern then G1T2 a pattern G1T3 a pattern and so on... Do I have to use the Group and Track feature to navigate thru the different sections of my songs... Any help appreciated if waht I wrote makes sense... Thx... bri. Here some pics...
  11. Today marks a new chapter in my life as a producer Live PA artist as I will be incorporating the SEQV4 into my live setup and phasing out my Machinedrum as main sequencer... Looking forward to using this powerful piece of self made equipment and thank all that have assisted me to getting to this level... The learning curve will take a bit to figure out but in a months time I hope to be somewhat proficient with it and have it setup to work with my gear... Still have the Quad IIc to troubleshoot but that is minor... Configuration... SEQV4 - master sequencer Track 1 - Jomox Mbase ( midi filter to remove clock rx from SEQV4 and to provide prog changes) Track 2 - Machinedrum (SEQV4 to send pattern changes) Track 3 - Minitaur (trigger minitaur via midi send prog changes and CC) Track 4 - Dual Darkenergy's (trigger cv/gate via AOUT if tracking bad then midi) Track 5 - MKS 30 (trigger via midi and prog changes, maybe cc but may stick with PG200 for that) Track 6 - Ensoniq DP/4 (prog changes possible cc as well) SEQV4 clock sent to Acidlab Bassline Any tips appreciated... Need to come up with a general template so I can apply it to any new tracks that start on...
  12. Thanks Hawkeye... I was doing as you describe but I think I was having issues with my usb connection seeing the core... MIOS was seeing my sd card though... Will give this another try when my kids are not running around... Trying to troubleshoot and wrangling kids is not the best environment...
  13. Okay I really have no idea what to do? Programming issues are not my forte.... I got the application iic_midi_v1_001.zip... Now do I upload the hex file for the LPC 17 and then what? I don't understand the procedure that is outlined...
  14. Thanks Thorsten will check it out...
  15. It appears that my QUAD IIc is not working... When I boot up the SEQV4 and hit play all the led's on the QUAD II will blip on but when I stop the sequencer and restart it the led's will not light... Also noticed when I want to set midi clock for the ports on the QUAD IIc the In /Out option does not work... If I select Menu / Event / Port and select QUAD IIc I get the following ... IIC1* IIC2* IIC3* IIC4*... I believe all the connections are correct is there something I need to add to the config file?
  16. I just noticed the Quad IIc module that I have installed has 220 ohm resistors I will try the outs on it as I was using the outs on the LPC17...
  17. First off I know there are a lot of variables at play here and this is the first time I have encountered an issue trying to trigger a synth via midi.. I am unable to to trigger the S1000 as it is set for for channel 1 and I have defined MIDI port out#2 on SEQV4... The S1000 works fine when I trigger with a M-audio Oxygen keyboard set on channel 1... Not sure what gives... The SEQV4 will trigger my MBSID no problem as well as my MKS-30... Maybe someone here has had the same issue with the S1000... There is some setting I am missing... Thanks... Brian...
  18. Thx for that info as I will chwck tmmrw... I also have to install new 1/8 jacks as the do not grip the end of my patch cables... This will involve drilling 16 new holes and the existing holes will look lime ventilation or I could civer with a sticker...
  19. Okay I better look at the DAC sheet for the pinout config... Thx... If one channel is dead I can live that...
  20. Near the end of my build and last night I went to calibrate the AOUT_NG module and have no CV on P8 which I set for unipolar mode... I guess the first thing to look for is bad solder joints any other things i should look for? I set that port as AOUT Ch8 and initialized it as well... ANyway I am so glad I have gotten this far with the build and it is working... Thanks... bri.
