Thanks for the suggestion... I need something sturdy as this will be in and out of the studio ...

Hello... I am looking to source the front panel and the case that go's with the panel as per Wilba's build... I have searched the forum but still not sure on the process in doing so and figure I may get a quick answer this way... I am sorry if this has been asked before... I understand the panels come from Schaeffer Apparatebau and is there a file (mbseq_v3_with_v4_labels.fpd) that I have to send to them for the panel and if so which one? In the past I have made my own but this is far too complicated to do... All the other parts have been ordered just need the case and panel... Thanks... bri

SEQ V4 Who is Performing Live With This? (Techno)
cosmosuave replied to cosmosuave's topic in MIDIbox SEQ
Cool thanks I will check it out... -
Mentioned in a prev post I plan to build the SeqV4 to perform live techno and wondering who here is doing the same? Do you have any videos or mixes featuring the sequencer and how do you use it, pattern mode or song? How do you transition to your next track? What gear are you sequencing with it? Thanks... bri

Hello... Have not been to this board in ages after finishing my stereo sid and after wanting a Sequentix Cirklon and realizing I cannot afford it that the SEQ V4 would be a viable option... I have ordered the parts from Mouser and SmashTV and the Expresso board... Also got the extra midi module and the cv/gate module... It has been about 3 years since I have used a computer for music making and feeling a bit limited using my Machinedrum as a sequencer... Not to knock the MD it was the first hardware sequencer I have used and it was very easy to learn with but now I need some power... Regarding the AOUT_NG Kit + PCB I plan to use this to control 2 DOepfer Darkenergys and a Minitaur and noticed a DB-25 connector being used... Is anyone using this module with just 1/8 phono jacks instead for gate/cv output? Any recommendation for rubber knobs like those on the Elektron gear try'd looking on Mouser but it is overwhelming... Once done it will reside in my live rig... Top Half Bottom half...

Been awhile since I've posted here but I have dug out my SIDbox (stereo) V 2.0RC17 and have it connected to my Machinedrum... So far I am able to trigger the SIDbox no problem with the MD but not having any luck assigning the MD controllers to the SIDbox... The pitchbend control works fine but if I want to assign the filter is resonance no luck.... Is this some kind of NRPN thing? Another thing I am using the minimal control service design with some extra buttons... Thanks for looking... Using the following midi cc chart... CC Chart of MIDIbox SID V2 --- Lead Engine ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CC # | Hex | Description | Range | =====+=====+==============================================+=============+ 0 | 00h | Bank change | 0-7: bank | -----+-----+----------------------------------------------+-------------+ 1 | 01h | Knob #1 (Assignable Parameters) | 0-127: val | -----+-----+----------------------------------------------+-------------+ 2 | 02h | Oscillator Phase Offset | 0-127: val | 3 | 03h | Oscillator Detune | 0-127: val | -----+-----+----------------------------------------------+-------------+ 4 | 04h | Filter CutOff Frequency | 0-127: val | 5 | 05h | Filter Resonance | 0-127: val |

Nice work!!! The end cheeks are no thicker than a Juno 6o looks great....
-
For taking macro pics I use a curved piece of white paper form my printer makes a pefect white back drop...
-
Just a note... Not a good idea to place chips on a carpeted surface you could get a static charge and fry them...
-
That's looking really nice... Can't wait to see it completed... I just installed the Dtronics MIDI/DCB kit in my Juno 60 on the weekend and it works fine with the quick test I did... I thought for the money it was not a bad deal...

From nothing to 2 working SIDs?? (mono6581 and MB6582)
cosmosuave replied to jooks's topic in MIDIbox SID
Good point... I had issues with the pin sockets on my build which caused some issues... Some of the pin sockets were not making contact with the chip pins... -
Nice Job!!!

Anyone in NZ or Aus know where I can buy buttons?
cosmosuave replied to bleepsnbreaks's topic in MIDIbox SID
Why not look at the Op Shop or Trash n Treasure for some old electronics (vcr, clock radio, tv, cordless phone) with some button controls on them to scavenge a far cheaper solution and a good way to hone your desoldering skills... Not sure of the length for LED spacers but you could use a soft drink straws... -
I noticed I never added pics of the completed build...

Core No Voltage @ IC1:Vdd(32) - IC1:Vss(31) = 5V

Fixed... Thanks... -
Core No Voltage @ IC1:Vdd(32) - IC1:Vss(31) = 5V
cosmosuave replied to cosmosuave's topic in MIDIbox SID
Thanks that is probably what the issue is... I'll check it in a few hours... -
Hey I have assembled my core board (SmashTV) and am not getting the 5V at IC1:Vdd(32) - IC1:Vss(31) = 5V... The other pins are getting the req'd 5V... When I trace those pins I find that that pin IC1:Vss(31) connects to J15 pin "E" and IC1:Vdd(32) connects to J15 pin "RW"... Upon looking at this it would seem that there will only be a voltage present with the chip installed cos uninstalled it looks like an open thus no 5V... Is this correct to assume?

Thanks for the link and reply... I'll have to find something similar here in Canada...

Well I have started on my 2nd SID (mono) and have connected the LCD to the core and it works... The one issue I have is that the 2x24 LCD I have requires a 90VAC inverter... Any idea where I can find nfo on this? I checked the board here and found a thread that was to have an attachment for the inverter circuit but it was never posted... Here is a link to the 2x24 display I am using... http://www.serialwombat.com/parts/lcd107.htm the link for the inverter on the site is dead... thanks.
