IC-Prog ist ein Tool um einen Pic-burner anzusteuern. Da du aber wahrscheinlich einen Pic gekauft hast, wo schon der bootloader drauf war, ist das für dich nicht relevant, da man den ja per midi, also ohne burner beschreiben kann..

I remember something about feeding Dc to the Audio in and modulating the volume very fast, so it sounds like a wave with a very low samplerate...but i think it was possible only with the 6581...might be complete BS though...

Ich hab neulich festgestellt, dass die Midibuchsen, wie sie auch auf dem gm5 sind, nicht auf die normale reichelt-Lochrasterplatine passen...die Pins sind einfach zu dick...klar, man kann bohren...das ist bei insg. 40 Pins aber schon ein bischen blöd...

Ah, ok...as it seems, i will update today... Will those patches, which i already exported with the editor, work with the new firmware? Does flashing a firmware even affect the patches stored on the SID?

Nice! This will surely make my step-A a lot easier to handle... Receiving a patch/ the whole bank works, but shortly afterwards it says my sid doesn't respond. Edit doesn't work either... My Midiport is the mpu-401 of my mainboard... Does the tool require the latest firmware? I'm using 2.0RC17...

I wouldn`t recommend mixing stereo-pairs...I´ve done that (only one 6581 & one 8580 as pair in my V2) and it limits the 8580 to the capabilities of the 6581...this renders some patches unusable...I will get another 8580 soon, to sort this out...

I've thought about that too.... I had the idea to build a stepper-driven Tonewheel (like in a Hammond). A square-wave could be generated via core or sid and buffered/amplified until it's strong enough to drive the stepper. Its frequency and therefore the speed of the motor would depend on the note played... But i actually don't know how to amplify the voltages...an op-amp seems much to weak... Pwm is afaik for controlling the speed of normal dc-motors, or did i miss something?

I once had a 7812 wich gave 15V while measuring, but proper 12V under load...first i thought it might be labeled wrong, because i would not expect such a round voltage from a malfunction...

Hast du schonmal ins C64-NT reingekuckt? An der 14v Wicklung hängt glaube ich gar nichts weiter, außer ner Sicherung...Die könnte natürlich hinüber sein...oder aber erst ab ner bestimmten Temperatur leiten...Je nach Revison des NTs ist es easy bis unmöglich die Sicherung bzw andere Komponenten zu wechseln...aber ein Versuch ist es denke ich wert...

Die selbstbestückten und die Kits von smashTV hast du aber alle mit dem selben C64-NT betrieben, oder? Vielleicht ist da drin einfach die Sekundärwicklung die die 14 V liefert hinüber... Das würde erklähren, warum es bei ersten Anschalten nicht läuft...aber nicht warum beim zweiten dann doch....du benutzt doch bestimmt so eine schaltbare Steckdosenleiste...haste das ganze mal direkt an der Wandsteckdose ausprobiert?

Ich denke, ich kann deinen Verdacht widerlegen... Ich hab gerade mal meinen Sid ohne die 14V gestartet und das Kabel nachträglich wieder angeschlossen, worauf alles wie gewohnt funktionierte... Vielleicht hilft es aber trotzdem mal die Spannungen beim "Erststart" durchzumessen...
