  1. For me the ASX USB port is more or less usefull for preset management. The idea would be to assign midi CC in a generic way and remap the CC message to the ASX fixed CC map... For example, the OSC 1(A) Frequency should always be the same CC message which is not the case in the ASX/Plugiator.
  2. Nice controller indeed ... Maybe you still have room for a hardware minimoog DSP emulation board: check the ASX board from Use-Audio: http://www.use-audio.com/asx.htm It could save some PC CPU power (the processing is done by the DSP) It would provide you a good sounding cheap 12 note polyphonic Minimoog DSP emulation (150 €). You will get also some alternative plug-in you can choose to use when not using the Minimax, the Lightwave, a digital synth providing something inspired from the Prophet VS, The vVocodizer, a rather nice vocoder and the B3000 a B3 emulation. Some other plugs can be bought at a bargain price (99 €) including a Prophet 5 and an Odyssey emulations ...
  3. I agree with you Maniac, The ASX is much more interesting. I have already a Plugiator which actually host an ASX board. I had in mind a project to make a synth based on a Core32 board to control such an ASX board. I have more time to think about such project but miss some hardware to build up my very first Core32 board (ordered from SmashTV). The thing I still have to figure out is a way to layout the controller to make it efficient for the most intersting plug-ins available on the ASX: LightWave and Minimax are provided with the board, Pro12 and Prodyssey being available through an extra plug-in bundle (99 € roughly). The trick is to organise the controller to merge the required control elements for these 4 plug-ins. The common structure is 2 or 3 osc mixed down to 1 or 2 filters... The most complex is the Lightwave which sounds like a good digital synth (a kind of simplifyed prophet VS). The most analog like sounding are the 3 others Minimax (inspired from the Minimoog), the Pro12 (inspired from the Prophet 5) and the most intereting Prodyssey (inspired from the ARP Odyssey).
  4. Great news Paul I think we have something to share about that topic. I also have a G2 engine and ... a Novation X-station (similar layout as the K-station). If we could focus on the Chameleon and the G2 engine (which is complicated enough). Regarding the G2, the trick could be to rebuild something inspired from the G2 front panel. Regarding the chameleon, I do not know much about the different skins as I just received the unit today !!! I will probably focus on the MonoWave II and Faze-1 for a start ... Do you both see something like this like an external controller or do you think about using the front panel protocol of the chamaleon to integrate the chameleon engine in a complete new box. My first idea would be to use a set of two 240x64 or 240x128 mono graphical display with T6963C controller surrounded with encoder and keys. The displays could provide value feedback with flexible labelling, then adding some extra pot for other control parameter and 16 step seq features from the MIDIBOX SEQ v4. In such a setup we would have serveral CPU engine: - the STM32 from the Core32 for handling midi control and stepqseq - the Coldfire from the chamaleon for MIDI and file management - the DSP from the chameleon as a sound engine As an extra, I would leave a place for an ASX board to have the possibility to had an extra synth engine afterwards Let's just brainstorm about that ...

    This one is just beautifull
  6. Great !!! I am waiting for the one I just bought and already have the Core32 board here. I will think about it. Do you have any favourite skins for which a hardware controller would be a smart addition ? Did you start designing any personnal skin project ?
  7. Does any of the member own a Soundarts Chameleon unit ? http://www.chameleon.synth.net/english/index.shtml As the user panel protocol is available, maybe it would be possible to co-design a user control surface built using a Core32 board and the DSP-engine available in the Soundarts Chameleon.
  8. I guess the SAB8052 means a 8052 MCU manufactured by siemens/infineon
  9. Do you have the full reference SAB8052 ???? just to let us help you to find some replacement part ? Actually I do have 8052 chip but maybe from a different brand. I would like to check if this one has the same pinout and features as what you need ... Cheers
  10. Yes I meant Ledrings assembly ... I just checked the way my old BCR 2000 was built and noticed it was just standard leds with some platsics part. Thanks for the link by the way. This is just what I was looking for.
  11. I have also the same type of error message. I am also completly new to this forum and waiting (patiently) for my MIOS32 ordered a few weeks ago on smashTV. I would have been interested of some "waldorf" Knobs but I would prefer some transparent ones ...
  12. Does any of you find source for ledrings similar to thoose found on clavia modular G2 or Nord Lead 3 or Berhinger BCR/BCF 2000 ?
  13. Where did you get the encoder/buttons PCB ? Homemade ???
  14. Hello Just new here. Would like to know if there is a 6th bulk order for Waldorf Knobs ... (I only have 8 pieces here but they came with the MicroQs). CheerZ
