  3. On my MB6582 I had to turn up the max res in the Configuration menu to FFF to get my 6581 filter right
  4. Thanks! It's a good thing I asked cause I had no idea
  5. There is Latching and non latching and dual latching  Anybody order a G6K-2P from Mouser? For the SSM2044 VCF... I'm not even sure what they do. Electronic switch? Guess i'll have to google it... Will this work? Anybody find a cheaper one? http://www.mouser.com/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=G6K-2P-Y-DC12virtualkey65300000virtualkey653-G6K-2P-Y-DC12
  6. I'm having a little trouble finding a TTL. The TTL's from Mouser are SMT and like $45! Will this work? If not has anyone got one from Mouser? http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Vishay-Dale/XO52CTELNA14M31818/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMvtKVs5t5Cq%2fMXX%252bPlwzsV6esj5NbxOEO4%3d Thanks

    SID acid

That's some great Acid Hawkeye.
  8. I don't think I really will. I got the voc's exactly how I want them. Real human and intimate. Organic but stark. Like an open wound. It compliments the electronic nature of the synth. Although these SIDs really have an organic feel to them as well. They are far from dead and cold. Thanks
  9. Which pads did you put the Filter Caps in?
  10. Thanks. Smithy - I'm just using the porta. I got the DAC up pretty high. It was the first sound I made with my Box. I was in too much of a rush to run my vocs through Vocoder. A good idea though.
  11. Thanks Imp. I'm glad you liked it.
  12. Hope you like it!! Thanks!
  13. That's awesome dude. The song and the build. Congratulations! :sorcerer:
  14. Duh!!! I had the filter cap placement wrong! Apparently I thought it didn't make a difference since there were 6 holes. I've been fiddlin' with moving them in their sockets since I built it knowin' that it changed the way they sounded.... 0 x x x 0 x I apologize for leading you on a wild goose chase Wilba. Thanks so much for your Patience with me
  15. The pads are known to go dead in the MPC1000. I ordered the upgrade for $185 USD and I'm waiting for them to come into stock... I don't know about the 2500 pads dying but I know you can get a sensitivity upgrade. They are little cork discs that stick inside of the rubber. You probably know about that if you know MPCStuff though. You could try cleaning the contacts but you'll most likely have to bite the bullet and buy a new pad set. :pinch: At least you can replace the component and DIY. Still alot cheaper than buying a new one. Those pads take a beating. Take what I say with a grain of salt though. I am only familiar with the MPC1000. Good Luck. If you figger' it out please post up here.
  16. Cool. Thanks  It's been a while since I read that one. probably wouldn't hurt to go back and read it all again
  17. I'm sorry but I'm really trying to get this... Which knobs are 1-5?
  18. Thanks for getting back to me Wilba. Well the 6581s are working great. I turned up the cutoff range (for the 6581s) to FFF and it's BZZOOOO BBWWEEEERRRRRNNNGGGG!! The 6582s are still not as dramatic as I think they should be (only for the multi engine). Especially after hearing what the 6581 are doing now. The envelope is working and the filter has some effect but I'm not hearing the resonance like I do with the lead and the Bass Engines.... It sounds more static then dynamic. Also I get a steady tone in the background if I put it on Bandpass? I have the 22nf green rectangle caps in for the 6582s. About the filter noise for the Lead LFO; I am not using feedback pots and I don't think it's self oscillation. It's more in the background, like it's part of the SID noise. All my SIDs are pretty noisy. But it kinda sounds like a tea kettle in time with the LFO  It's like a tone. BTW I added the default assignments for the knobs to your wiki... I changed your text a hair where it said about being redundant. You may wanna check it out and make sure it's kosher. I'm not trying to step on your toes or anything :flowers:
  19. Squelch Squelch Whrrrrr Swoooshh

  20. I've been making patches with the multi engine but I'm having a tough time getting filter definition. I can hear it in the background but I don't feel like it's really latching on to the oscillators. It's fuzzy and noisy. Not at all like the filter for the bass and the lead engine. If I trun the resonance up or the cutoff too high I get squealing too. I've tried different Chips and it seems to be the same. It seems to work better if I turn the sustain down for the oscillator and use the ADR... Almost the same thing happens when I route the filter to the LFO for the Lead engine Arp. Is this common or am I doing something incorrectly? I thought maybe it was the 6581s but now I have it running 6582s and I'm having the same thing happen... I'm pretty sure the board is built correctly and for the multi I have the filter routed to all the oscillators and as a single polyphonic instrument. Also when I try to route the filter to the LFO for the Arp on the lead engine I get some squealing too. Is this just cause I'm pushing the filter too much? Both of these instances kinda sound like they might be related... Is it just an artifact of the SID ie: it happens to everyone, ooorrrrr Am I doing somehting wrong? Also, I am just setting the envelope and everything for Ins 1 since I do not have any oscillators configured for individual voices. Should that make a difference?
  21. Thanks TK. Yeah. This Machine is Super Awesome!!! I'm getting a little closer. Sorry for being so thick about this stuff. Now Smithy... What you're saying is that the Pa1 and Pa2 will change the parameters as in = make the knob do something else instead of what it is currently doing? That's kinda what I thought it said in the manual but I wasn't sure. I may just be having vocabulary problems ... I know that doesn't solve your problem but it would solve mine
