Check out the Walkthrough :sorcerer:

I don't know if this helps at all but I found this on the MFOS website... Maybe helps with the hardware aspect? Here's the link: MOTM Panning Mixer Looks pretty simple to build a basic hardware mixer, maybe you can add or extract some of what you need from this schematic... I found this after searching for a while cause I needed more input channels after I built the MB6582 and got a S900. I think I decided that for the price of a good mixer and the time it would take I'd rather spend my DIY time doing other things. Good to keep in mind for a little mixer (for a modular? or MBFM?) someday though. Hope this helps

I can't say... There's been so many  I'm all hardware too. I don't understand the computer routing at all. Don't take my advice to seriously. I just learned how to sidechain over the holidays  Now it's on everything I do! (1 song) I'll post my first dubstep attempt soon. Sounded good bud

MB-6582 Core 2-4 needs reflashing of MB HEX every time I power up
JRock replied to Rave-TZ's topic in MIDIbox SID
Hmmm... Good to know  -
As a Matter of fact... Has anyone built this? I'm building it on perfboard. Rick's Moog Filter I'm at the top of the transistor ladder and I can't figger out how to connect my BC337s to the first 2 transistors on this CA3046 without clustering everything on pin 3 where the emitters connect... I know, not midibox, But a few of a you guys have built this right? Thanks :flowers: Got it. I can use the transistors in any order or configuration I please. It's just like having 5 separate transistors... only on an IC!!

Try Holding down the menu button when you power on. It should clone the Slaves from Core 1... -
Hmmm... Whaddya' know? I'm building that right now :ninja:

Sounds great dude  If you want the DubStep you need to Crank the kick and hit that Bass Hard with some sidechain Compression!!!
-
Ha HA!! :sorcerer: I was gonna ask but...
-
Yeah. I was gonna ask about jumper J11. I guess you have that under control if you uploaded MB6582 to all the cores... Here's a Java Based Virtual editor: SID Editor V2 What happens if you take all the PICs out besides 1?

I'm just not smart enough to use my computer interface reliably. Just looked over this thread Izze Nice Box dude.

PM'd you. Thanks!

That's what I was thinking. Ugh. I wonder why they're beat? I think they were new. Electrostatic? The 6N138 is still going strong. I didn't blow the 74s... (I think they are pretty tough though. Guess I'll scrounge up some more and see what happens. Thanks!

There is no sound from either YAC (pins 10 and 11) output. There is distorted tonal music coming from the YMF!! From pins 21 and 22. Yes. I think just because I have it grounded properly. I have it connected the same as before. I am just not experimenting with the ground connections. There is not much to sample from the main output. Would it be helpful to hear what is coming from the YMF? It plays to Midi and the pitch bend works. It's on the Rhodes Piano. Now I get +5V on these pins with the PIC connection in place... IC1:1/3/5/6/7/8/15 = +5V Thanks!
-
Now I get no sound besides the crackle of the 74s when I connect or disconnect power. All the voltages I just posted are still the same.
-
Magic! :sorcerer: I'll make the connections to the PIC and find out. I forgot to mention that a bunch of other pins on IC1 also read +5V :pinch: Guess I was in a rush to hit post.
-
Ok... IC1:1 = +5V IC1:7 = +5V IC2/4:1 = +5V IC2/4:3 = +5V IC2/4:6 = +5V IC2/4:9 = +5V IC3/5/6:4 = +12V IC3/5/6:11 = -12V J1 = +5V J3 = +/-12V and Ground
-
A Ha! I thought I might have crossed my signals at some point. That's why I wrote the YAC in there, to make sure we were on the same page. That all makes a lot more sense. It's been a couple days since I looked at the schematic but I didn't think the YAC was supposed to get 12V. OOps. I'll check everything again and double check with the schematic Sorry to waste your time. Thanks for helping me!

Ha Ha Ha! No kidding! Plus the couple I fried cause I'm an OGRE! :pinch: I have a little SID graveyard. I stopped scratching X in them and started scratching R.I.P. Poor, little, dead bastards. :bye: Yeah. By the time all is said and done I'll have spent $600-$700 easy (including "learning" costs too) Not to mention the weeks of entire days worth of time I've put in to this project (Which is nothing compared to you GURUs!) :sorcerer: It's cool. I don't really care one way or another. I'm just trying to be a good little MidiBoxer and tow the line. You MidiBox Masters are the ones that really put all the time, effort and genius in to these brilliant little machines. I'm just grateful to be allowed to participate in this. If you told me I had to sell it today I would. If you told me I was never ever ever ever allowed to sell it, that'd be cool too. It's whatever you want. I got a whole truckload of respect for you guys TK, Wilba, nILs, Seppoman, Smash... You guys did all the hard work and paved the road for a noob like me to come in and follow your map and ask questions and build a MBSID and pat myself on the back for being a synth building MadMan. So I don't know this dude's story and I don't care. If it don't bother you, then it don't bother me.

They are both open. And with Only J3 connected IC3 (YAC512-M):4 should be receiving +12V IC3 :11 -12V I can't be that interesting :hmm: I must be doing something stupid. I hadn't taken the TL074's out. With them out IC3:4 = 0V IC3:11 = 0V On IC5:4 I get 12V IC5:11 = -12V That's where the +/-12V should come from?
-
Ha Ha  No. I doublechecked. J3 reads +/-12V and ground...
-
With Only +/-12V and ground to OPL:J3 Against Ground J1: A) IC3:4 -.58v B) IC3:11 -1.12v C) J1:Vdd -.62v D) Is the LED lit, with only the PSU>OPL connection? : No
-
Ok. My bad, I meant with the +/-12V and the PIC to Opl3:J2. I hadn't realized at the time it needed to be disconnected to get the correct readings. I'll check all the other stuff and get back. I just wanted to throw that up here. Thanks

That's a nice looking box. I want a faceplate like that! That's about what you would have to charge to make a profit off of them... Notice it says :MIDIbox SID is a non-commercial & "DIY-only" project." First thing right below the You-Tube Vid? It also says the possibility to control up to 4 SIDs... V1? Only 2 Core Modules? I wonder if he used Wilba's PCB/Separate Cores or made up his own PCB? Or just reselling it... Ungrateful Bastard!
