NEW Backpanel design for the SEQ4 aluminum case (LPC17 & STM32F4)
slo replied to kristal='s topic in MIDIbox SEQ
I'd like to know too if someone is working on this. I'd like to go with the new STM32F4 core which requires this breakout board and the corresponding backpanel, but with none available it's holding up my ordering a case from the #3 bulk buy -

I'm an idiot, thanks for your patience George

Thanks, but there is no reference to L31 on that page

New User Needs Help Converting Hammond Bass Pedals To MIDI
slo replied to garyde's topic in MIDIfication
Agreed Midibox is overkill. I recently saw a set of midi pedals made from one of those roll up keyboard thingies, you find in games section of stores. Some of them come with midi. It only transmitted on Ch1. Just figure out how to hook the switches to the pedals and you're done. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Portable-49-Keys-Roll-Up-Piano-Keyboard-Used-/300946937176?pt=Keyboards_MIDI&hash=item4611d5d558 George -

Thanks Rio, I can use these. I was looking for a complete overview type of pdf, but I guess it doesn't exist George

Hi, well I'm just not finding the LPC_17 connections. If I go to MIDIbox SEQ V4 -->User Manual -->Hardware Options I only see connections for a Core STM32 at the top of the page and the tutorials are how to use it once you build it. Maybe you can give me a link to the pdf. George

Can someone please point me to an interconnection diagram for SeqV4 to MBHP_Core_LPC17, I've figured out where the LCD's go but can't seem to figure out the rest of it and I can't find one on the site or forum's. Using Wilba frontpanel PCB. George

Did it hook up nicely?, been looking for readers myself and only come up with the aurdino ones.

I've been on the list for quite awhile now. Is Smash still in business or should I attempt to get a PCB/kit from Europe, does anyone know? EDIT: OK, I see there is a production run happening for the PCB, so can anyone point me to a BOM for the parts? Thanks George

I'm going to leave it alone for now, it's all working and updated. I did it on a Win 7 computer, the single_usb and name change still don't show on the XP computer though. Time for new latop! Thanks TK GeoW

Ok, using J27 I was able to load the bootloader, I then had to load V4L 075 to get it going again. It's very erratic now trying to load the bootloader to make the changes I wanted. 2 times it crashed MIOS with an error message and once I was able to load the bootloader and make the changes then store, then it crashed again as I tried the upload again. I'm using the M$ legacy drivers, a single usb port hooked up to the SeqV4L and have had no trouble in the past doing all the firmware updates. SeqV4l 074 was installed before. George

I've tried uploading the Bootloader update app V1_012 with MIOS32 V2_4_5 in Win XP and I'm getting "Upload aborted due to error #14:Invalid sysex command" error message. I have just the USB cable plugged in (no midi cables) and MIOS does see the SeqLite board. Any help? George

That worked, thanks TK. I used MIOS studio 2.4.5, made the new file under root and added the magic line, and....midi notes on MidiOut2. Beer on the way. George

I want to enable Midi 2 Out to send midi notes as in the previous post, but I can't find the Filebrowser in MIOS Studio, what am I missing here?

I'm wondering if the "little spy" has anything to report?

I've been trying to get my head around the transpose function. I programmed a sequence in the key of E major, set the scale as major and base note as E. when I switch the transpose function on the only way I can get a I - IV - V change is by playing keys C - F - G on the keyboard. Am I missing something? I'd like to play E - A - B. Not being that familiar with hardware sequencers I'm hoping someone will enlighten me on this.

Hey All, I'd like to report a successful build. I enjoyed building this great sequencer as it took me to new areas in DIY and I want to thank TK and Smash TV for the great service to the community. I used switches from Digikey, they stood above the PCB but still topped out @ 5mm. It worked first time with no problems from the documentation, except maybe the jumper section needs tweaking. Two things I noticed. #1 The tempo is global when in master mode and is applied to all patterns saved. Is this normal for a stand alone seq? can we have individual tempos saved with the pattern? #2 I see no easy way to delete a note from a track. Again thank you for a really fun project. George
