Hi folks, In the Wilba BOM docs there is this sentence. Can someone tell me what the actually means? I understand they are 8.2mm (seems small) and that the gap (10mm) and panel (3mm) means they would actually be below the panel surface. How would this work? Does this mean you can't actually install the encoders at all in order to bring the 10mm gap down?

Hi Altitude, I have a question on these tacts. I've just ordered my kits from Smashtv and am gathering the CS bom I need. I like these switches (would prefer round ones though) but does the Wilba PCB switch pads support LED's in that position? Or is there some mad wire bending mods needing done? From what I gather the long actuator is so you can have a higher front panel that covers the LCD's right? (I'm going for oled myself) Ninja edit: I meant to ask do they have the LED in them or do you put it in yourself? Looks like there are models with the LED already in place, of various colours. Quite pricey though in Aus at $7 a kick.

Thanks folks. I'm pretty much convinced it can do everything I want plus an absolute bucket load more. Looking forward to this. Especially sequencing my LXR which while sounds awesome, is a bit limited for full songs.

Thanks for that. I read it on the wiki, and on another forum from someone who also read it on the wiki. It certainly seems to do the job, and a whole lot more although the interface is naturally a lot more complex than my MidiREX. Incidentally, the MBLoopA is basically the same as a MidiREX with fancy graphics so I already have that. I'll build a Midibox anyway. Looks like a great project.

Hi folks, I've read in a few places that Midibox isn't suitable for song composition. I see it has a song mode that allows chaining of patterns and I'm wondering if this is still true, or out of date information. I currently use a Midirex for full arrangement. It's a 4 track realtime recording sequencer with a pattern chaining mode and I work quite well with it. Being realtime though it's impossible to edit, or add CC's without directly recording them so I'd like to move to something that provides both realtime and step recording. Midibox looks good for this. Is the song mode functional enough to do a full arrangement?

I can see now after reading the Launchpad posts how difficult it would be supporting direct connection from various devices (you'd basically need a MIOS driver for each one, where on a computer it's provided). I can do C ok so I'll have a delve into MIOS at some point later after my build anyway. Thanks again.

Hi Everyone, I'm just about to order my PCB's and kits and start building my first Seq. I have a question about controllers. I noticed from the forum that you can use USB Host on the core. Is it possible to plug a Launchpad in and control the SEQ that way? Bitwig has an excellent controller API that allows the community to develop controller scripts for supporting the myriad of devices around. Is this possible with Midibox? Is there an exposed API or any plan for one? P.S. I know about Launchpad via JUCE but my intention is to leave the computer off.
