  1. Hi When you first switch the SID on it produces a test tone you shouldnt need the gain right up to hear this. Yes centre is signal, outter is earth peace
  2. Hi Im in the progress of upgrading my MB64 & MB_MF to a MB_LC I have found that I dont have the space for the LCD's etc required for the LC in my old case so will have to start from scratch. http://www.midibox.org/midibox_gallery/lo3.jpg http://www.midibox.org/midibox_gallery/lo4.jpg http://www.midibox.org/midibox_gallery/lo5.jpg http://www.midibox.org/midibox_gallery/lo6.jpg http://www.midibox.org/midibox_gallery/lo7.jpg I will keep my PCB's (although may have a few AIN boards spare?), motorfaders & 2x16 LCD. But dont have any use for the case with laser cut panels, mounted buttons & rotary pots. Not sure if im allowed to sell this stuff so may have to wait for TK to return? but was intrested to see if anyone was keen to purchase/swap with me ? ? ? ? ? LO

  5. you have made the hardware changes needed for Mios 1.7 aye??
  6. OK thanks Yeah the PIC's are a hardy type ::) I think that the root of my problem as with most on this site is dodgy connections, as i managed to get it to work last nite .......but only while holding the wires (and my tounge) on a certain angle! So sorry to waste your time. pEaCe
  7. mmmmmmmmm this sounds good! 8)
  8. mmmm thanks for the idea. I am currently trying a new PIC as I didnt take it out while I was soldering the LCD wires (too lazy!) if that doesnt fix it??? Do you think this is difficult to change the code so it will work with my 4x40's?
  9. OK im seriously confused.... I picked up two 4x40 LCD's to use on my LC. The plan was to use just 2 of the 4 rows on each as in the standard LC design Its all wired, up all wires in parallel except for the enable lines which go to the seperate LCD's. When I power up everything appears to work except some of the characters are missing and there are a few random ones thrown in! Checked all my connections and all appears OK So I tryed unhooking the enable line of the 2nd LCD and attaching it to the 2nd enable line of the 1st LCD powered up and presto all 4 rows of the first LCD are working just fine! problem being I dont want to use one LCD I want it spread over both LCDs  :-/ Anyone got any tips? I presume it is OK to use a 4x40 as a 2x40 by only using one of the enable lines? help Edit: mmmmm actually it seems to drop characters and add the odd random character regardless of if its connected to LCD 1 or 2

    diy mixer

Try: http://sound.westhost.com/projects.htm Warning with DIY audio is very difficult to get a nice clean sound, prob is less expensive and better to buy a cheap mixer.
  11. Hi, I have just bought some 4x40 LCD HD.... compatible for my MB_LC. The guy who I bought them off has 10 more of them at a price of NZ$33 approx USD$20 which is a pretty nice price. (The freight might kill it depending on where you live?) If anyone is interested send me a private message on this board and ill pass his contact details on to you. peace
  12. Hey nice work How do you find your layout ergonomic? (its quite different to the on screen layout of traktor) Are the play ffd/rwd buttons off a vcr? peace
  13. Dont give up I think yuour close! The black blocks just mean your boot strap is loaded on the PIC and its waiting for Mios. With your box connected up to your PC and Midiox running, when you swith on the midibox you should get get a "request for upload" in the midiox window? Do you get this? peace
  14. So your bootstrap is loaded 8), you just need to send the Mios file & then the app via midiox sysex? Make sure you have your cables rnd the right way.
  15. The easiest way is to use de-soldering wick Its just copper braid, all you need to do is lay it across the tracks with solder on them, then just stick your soldering iron on top and presto it sucks all the solder off the board and in to the wick. Should be able to buy it from most shops that sell soldering equip. LO
  16. So you have burnt the boot strap, then loaded Mios via sysex? (not via JDM) this has then printed ready on you screen? Now which app have you tried to upload? mb64?
  17. hi You are sending Mios first aye? (and within 2 secs of power on?) peace
  18. Hi Pretty sure you just need to buy motorfaders with an audio track (I think they exist?!)
  19. Go the hot glue gun! :o Front panel looks good!
  20. hmmmm.... thats what I was thinking. The 240x64 did sound kinda cool but the 2x40 more effective to use thanks heaps
  21. Thanks guys :D Hey Dan you have made a box with a GLCD & also one with 2 x 2x40's? ..........so the 2x40's are best in your opinion? (probably cheaper to?)
  22. Thinking about redoing me box in to an M/C clone My question is about the LCDs, I cant decide if I should use a graphical or standard 2x40 LCD(s), the 2x40s look like they may be slightly more ergonomic? Thoughts.....? ??? peace
  23. mmmm this is good I have momentary buttons and want cubase to do this. My box is back in bits at the moment but sonn as I have it up and running again.......
  24. ummmmm..... yeah be real careful with the paint in the oven, I made one of my attempts go a nice champane color was spose to b silver >:( Slow is the key
