  1. Since this statement could be easily misunderstood to sound like you paid for something you did not receive, I need to be very clear: You do not have an order pending with me, and I don't do upfront/pay then wait/etc..... never have never will. Please choose your words carefully and try not to give the impression that I took your money or that you were promised something in a specific time frame. To the guys waiting patiently on the SEQ list: They are shipping as fast as I can crank them out, I currently have just under $10,000usd tied up in SEQ parts alone...... do not interpret the lack of a twitter feed/daily updates about it as inaction. ;) Best regards Tim
  2. Hi Joris, Please take a look at the wiki page for the seq if you have not recently, I added some info to clarify things a few months ago. Also a more appropriate thread for your statement would be that has the whole history of the order, from start to stagnation to now. Best regards Tim
  3. Yes sold, as clearly stated above. Florian please keep your buy/trade requests in PM or the fleamarket forum (and no need for multiple replies to old threads about the same thing). Best regards Tim
  4. Best Festivus ever! Now that the Airing of Grievances is done do I have time for a short nap before Feats of Strength starts? Another Festivus miracle! Happy holidays and best wishes for the new year ;) Tim
  5. I do not automatically offer airmail to Portugal due to the import rules of -your- country (consular invoice requirement for small airmail parcels). It would be "crazy" for me to ship there without understanding the import/export rules. I use two shipping methods: Express/EMS ($31.97) which has tracking, and Airmail (much cheaper) that has no tracking. Both are insured against loss or damage. Each country gets one or both methods depending on their own import rules, the reliability of their postal system, Insurance availability, and fraud risk. Shipping is at my cost, and includes discounts I get on some mail classes for having a commercial account. Handling is actually the transaction and currency conversion fees I pay, the credit card companies and PayPal do not let merchants call transaction fees what they really are..... so I call it handling. It is cheaper, but that is a problem between you and whoever runs your postal system, not you and this forum. ;) The page you sent the email from has a link explaining most of what I typed above, and that a country missing from my list is not due to some nationalistic concept. No need to assume such nonsense. Now I'm off to reply privately to your email with an airmail solution, reminding myself that it is OK give a nice reply to an email that was not so nice. Tim
  6. Patience is a virtue....... sometimes the squeaky wheel just falls off. No need to ask in a PM then try to force an answer here. Have your friend put his own name on the list, and if there are any left after the dust settles he will have the same odds as the guys who did as requested but got in late/after I ordered the board run. Best regards Tim

    thanks

LOL I need to add "see my info pages to avoid horror" to my frequently used answers list. ;) Best regards Tim
  8. Hi Arianna, Slightly bending the tabs inward before you put the pin in the die helps tame the overlap. My method for doing this: (click for slightly larger view) is explained in detail here: http://www.midibox-shop.com/crimp.html Best regards Tim
  9. Simple answer from http://ucapps.de/midibox_seq/mbseq_v4_din.pdf A forum search will give more detailed info. Best regards Tim
  10. Yes -but- 8 modules is a long chain so short cables are required and termination may be needed for stable operation. Best regards Tim
  11. findbuddha and julienvoirin have it right, but this is much easier to wire than it is to explain...... On the R5 DIN/DOUT board layouts I connected the J1 pin not used by that module to J2 (so a DIN board carries the serial lines needed for a DOUT from J1 to J2, and the DOUT carries the serial lines for a DIN the same way). It is the same on all current generations of Core module. J8/9=SPI port for DIN/DOUT. A mixed DIN/DOUT chain on the same cable works great assuming the usual limits are observed (app support, keep the cables short etc.) From my DIN R5 info page: "Routed SO from J1 to J2 (so a DIN:DOUT chain is possible)" From my DOUT R4 info page: "Routed SI from J1 to J2 (so a DOUT:DIN chain is possible)" I did this design tweak because IDC connectors + ribbon cable are cheaper and save hours of build time, or because I am a slacker and don't like building fiddly SIL cables..... choose your favorite answer. ;) Best regards Tim
  12. Scroll on down a bit on the LPC page: "Since the LPCXPRESSO module doesn't provide dedicated pins for the two Ethernet Socket LEDs, you have to solder them directly from the appr. on-board SMD LEDs to J26 of the core module with two wires" Best regards Tim
  13. Only if you directly asked Doug for a refund and did not receive it.... I am not involved in the eight-oh-eight thing but I guess I we need a reminder to choose words carefully and keep it civil. Best regards Tim
  14. Yes but not immediately after the group order. NL residents: "Netherlands-Airmail" option was missing due to an error that I corrected this morning. Bad photo of a few of the postal projectiles sent Thursday: Best regards Tim
  15. Whether the shipping cost is taxable depends on the rules of the destination country (and often the customs inspector's mood). Since the cost of the postage is encoded in the barcode/not human readable and the customs declaration only lists the value of the contents, they will have to work for it - open the 'invoice enclosed' pouch on the outside of the mailer to get a look at the paypal invoice.... all legal/proper/labeled according to international postal rules. ;) Thanks guys! The first bundles of parcels will ship in a few hours. Best regards Tim
  16. Some countries are meaner than Germany on this, so I am set up for (and don't mind) multiples vs. singles. Without an order management system and in house postage generation in place it would be a different story, but I have that and a crate of mailers so I'm ready...... all I need is a stack of boards to ship! ;) Best regards Tim
  17. Yes. Just hit the order page as many times as needed, but be sure to send me a message if you want them sent on different days/not shipped in the same postal run (for some countries cumulative value across several parcels on the same day is an issue). Best regards Tim
  18. Thanks gomiboy99! I am slow with the posting today so you beat me to the answers. :) About shipping/handling/insurance: Shipping is at my cost, and includes discounts I get on some mail classes for having a commercial account. Handling is actually the transaction and currency conversion fees I pay, the credit card companies and PayPal do not let merchants call transaction fees what they really are..... so I call it handling. Insurance: not the usual difficult courier nightmare but per-parcel coverage managed by U-PIC and insured by Lloyds of London. Considering my shipments are at the mercy of every customs 'service' on the planet, I would not get much sleep at night without these guys. ;) Let me know/post here if you have any questions! Best regards Tim
  19. Hi guys, There seems to be some confusion between the SEQ V4 and the SEQ V4 Lite. The $30 usd (not 30 euro!) board is for the full SEQ (info @ the link above) and it looks like this: I -think- Nestle is confused due to the timing of his name coming up on that list at the same time as the SEQ Lite. The SEQ V4 Lite boards are $15 usd, and I will send out a PM and email to everyone on the list with a private order link when they are in hand and ready to ship. The private order link will help me manage shipping quickly on my end, and will insure there are enough boards from this run for everyone who added their name to the list before I ordered the fabrication run. The private order link is optimized for the lowest cost of shipping -boards only- in a flat mailer via insured airmail, but if you need other (non flat) parts or shipping/payment options reply to the email with what you need. The 4L board run is late but it is done/in transit now via DHL. I expect to see them either tomorrow or Thursday, and I will do a quick visual inspection and send out the PMs and emails. If you have any questions please ask! :) Best regards Tim
  20. Hi guys, The encoders I stock these days are a Bourns version of the Soundwell/Alps EC16. The specs are identical and they fit the same footprint. They are working great in quite a few 6582, SEQ v4, and sammich kit builds. Best regards Tim
  21. Pin 1=square pad No problem! Best regards Tim
  22. The dot is pin 1: The 8 pin SIL pinheader at the cut end of the LPCXpresso is for connecting the debugger half of LPCXpresso board -or- connecting the LPCXpresso to the core_LPC17 board's JTAG interface. If you are using the debugger half of the LPCXpresso to upload, no connection between this header and the core board are needed. If you have a JTAG interface and wish to use it to upload without the debugger half of LPCXpresso, connect this header to the core. In other words if using the LPCXpresso dev board to upload this is best: If using JTAG this is best (assuming a matching 8 pin female connector on the core board): Cut the provided pinheaders as needed: Use the provided jumpers as needed: Please keep in mind that I did not design this board..... that said the bridge rectifiers I ship with the kits will fit the green boards but they are very tight and have to be 'worked' into place. If there is a future revision of the layout these holes will be larger. I use a cheap pair of stamped wire cutters similar to these: Some people score them with a hobby knife then snap them. Best regards Tim
  23. Hi freakazo1d, There is more info about PIC ID options and the bootloader here http://www.ucapps.de/mios_bootstrap_experts.html under "Boot options" Best regards Tim
  24. Hi *, Quick update: The boards are in process now, and I'll send out a PM to everyone on the list with a private order link when they are in hand and ready to ship. Should be roughly 10 days. Best regards Tim
