Du mußt midi-ox nicht kaufen. Aber die Installation muss schon klappen. Weiss nicht wo da dein Problem liegt... Wenn Du es dann zum Laufen kriegst, gehe genau nach der Schritt für Schritt Anleitung unter ucapps - Mios - Bootstraploader vor. Wenn's dann immer noch Probleme gibt, guck dir die Midi-Troubleshoot-Guide genau an. Das Display zeigt nix an, wenn a) dein Core futsch ist (unwahrscheinlich) b) kein Betriebssystem geladen ist (warscheinlicher) Doc

Hallo Phattline, hast Du die MIOS Sektion ganz gelesen ? (nicht das ich dir jetzt lauter Zeugs sage, das Du schon weisst...) 1.) Wenn Du Core einschaltest, solltest Du eine Meldung vom Core auf dem Monitor Input sehen (eine Zeile). Fakt: Du hasst nach dem Einschalten nur ZWEI Sekunden Zeit das Sys-Ex zu laden (für das Betriebssystem). Also: Mauszeiger auf senden, einschalten und Sys-Ex losschicken.... Dach sollte Dein Display irgendwann sagen READY. Dann das Programm sys-exen. Das dein Display schwarze Rechtecke zeigt, heisst erst mal nur, dass der Kontrast nicht richtig eingestellt ist. (Dreh mal ein wenig an den Trimmern auf dem CORE). Ich vermute, Du hast die Sache mit den zwei Sekunden nicht eingehalten ? ALso, nur Mut, noch mal von vorne. Seh Dir vorher (fals nicht längst geschehen) die Anleitung auf ucapps nochmal an und vergleiche die Einstellungen für midi-ox. Gruß Doc

there must be something special... I always get you wrong ! - damned.... In the NF line you can connect the 1:1 audio transformer. You need a good one there and the impendance should be higher than yours. Don't know the exact value. Just test it ! - If there is a impendance problem you'll hear it. (and before saying something stupid again... I go to bed now!. Â ;)) doc

Hi Seppoman, it's me again... so be warned :-/ I don't think you can use a 1:1 NF audio transformer with 5 Ohm. Think about the current. You remember R=U/I ? If I'm right (and thats not sure at all) you get a current of 1.8 A (I=U/R -> 9V/5 Ohm). I'm pretty sure your audio transformer won't manage that. doc

Hi Seppoman, my box is closed (already). I don't want to open it again (only if I must!). The second problem is, that I don't have soldered the lcd pins on the slave cores (I even don't drill them !). 8) Thats why I asked for a message on midi-ox. Not really for now but for future releases.... Do you think I have to make a lcd Connector on every slave ? - Then I have to drill again, put pots in,transistor, etc.... I hope not :-/ doc

Just loades the new Mios 1.5b on my SIDc. Works great ! One question left: I have the master core stuffed with a display. One that I can see at startup that the new mios is loaded correctly(displays ...mios 1.5..). But how can I check the 3 slaves for they have loaded the new Mios correctly ? Is there a message in the midi-ox window where I can get this information from ? (Don't wanna complain. It works - but this would be "nice to know") Thanks for a answer doc

Hi Seppoman, I discovered the coil in the C64 also. This coil filters really several noise out of the line. I tested it with my Oszi. I think it's no problem to leave all 4 wires connexted. There should be no hum inducting to the 5V line, I think. In fact, this coil is almost the same suggestion I made with the "big" AC-Filter. I measured the coil with my inductivity-meter and get a value of 13µH for each coil. Not much, but it's enough. Thats it ! - Learning by doing ;D

Hi Seppoman, back again (after thinking 'bout ...) Your NanoVerb needs +/- 5V, as you said. It genarates these voltages with a virtual ground over C1. When connecting the SID and the NanoVerb you get a short circuit (perhaps) over the audio ground. Don't have a solution for it (except a extra transformer - but that isn't what you want to hear 8)). Perhaps someone else ? doc

Thank you TK, first of all let me say, that there is nothing for you to be sorry about. This are 'hobby' projects for me (and the comunity) with no profit for you. So we have to thank you for your time to solve our problems in your spare time !! Just a little question for the update with the new MIOS: Just to get it right, I have to "pearl" the operating system four times with different id's for the four cores and load each one (in the first seconds after startup). After that I have to "pearl" the application with four IDs and load it. Can I let the Cores all connected together or must I disconnect all cores and program them single ? (I think not. Because of the different ID's - but I want to know it for sure...) Thank you for your answer. doc

Ja, sone Diode kann schon kaputtgehen ...(wenn auch selten). Testen kann man das auch. Es muß sich dann vermutlich um die Zenerdiode 8.7V (oder 8.2V) handeln. Ich bin mir leider nicht ganz sicher, wie man die testet. Eine normale Diode kannst du mit dem Ohmmeter testen. + an Anode - an Kathode = Ohmmeter zeigt Durchgang - an Anode + an Kathode = Ohmmeter zeigt keinen Durchgang (Diode sperrt). Dies ist der einfache Test. Ob das 100%-ig für die Zenerdioden gilt weiß ich nicht. Im Zweifelsfall Diode tauschen und probieren ! Ich bin mir auch gar nicht sicher, ob das wirklich Dein Problem ist. Denn Du misst ja 5V. Es könnte auch der Transistor sein (richtig rum eingelötet ?). Es gibt in diesem Forum richtige (leidgeplagte) JDM - Experten. Die wissen das alles viel besser. Vielleicht meldet sich mal einer ? Gruß Doc

Ich möchte meinem Lötwahn wieder mal nachgeben und plane als Nächstes eine Midibox LC. Nun meine Frage: Funktioniert die LC auch mit Cubase SL oder benötige ich zwangsläufig Cubase SX. Oder gibt es eine andere preisgünstige Software, die sich rentiert anzuschauen (aber für die LC geeignet ist) ? Logic und SX erscheint mir für meinen Hobby Bedarf einfach zu teuer. Beim Blättern durch das Forum viel mir auf, dass die Meisten Logic einsetzen (auch TK). Hat schon mal jemand eine Aufstellung gemacht, welche Software die LC steuern kann ? (Oder bin ich total auf dem Holzweg ??? ???) mfg doc

Hallöchen, natürlich kannst du nirgends am COM Port 14V messen, da die ja erstmal nicht da sind ! Die Brennspannung wird erst durch den JDM mit der Z-Diode erzeugt. Du kannst also nur mit angestecktem JDM messen. Du mußt hierzu das Testprozedere in ICPROG einschalten. Siehe hierzu bei TK auf ucapps bei dem JDM Modul nach, welche Einstellungen du vor den Messungen vornehmen musst. Die Sache mit den 14V kannst du auch mit einer externen Spannung umgehen. Siehe auch dazu den Troubleshoot-Guide von TK. Viel Glück doc

Hi seppoman, I'm not quite sure about that but I think you need a another AC 9V Transformer to get a negative voltage. The ground would then be the middle connection of both transfrmers. I know two ways to get balanced voltage out of one transformer: 1.) With a OP. But then you get just half the voltage (+4.5V and -4.5V) 2.) A symetric powersupply out of one transformer. I don't know the englsh word. In german it's called "Villard-Spannungsvervielfacher". It uses 4 Diodes and some caps to get (for example) + and - 19V/150mA out of one 8V transformer. The +/- 19V should not be so problematic because you can put your +/- 5V regualators after that. Never tested this circuit with a Microcontroller application. If your interested I publish the schematic tomorrow. ( Have to draw it first and publish it on some webspace first) I'm pretty sure there are several other ways on doing it. So just leave the question open to the other "midiboxers" .... :P
